When I was referred to this pain management center I told the scheduler that I had had experience…read morewith a previous pain management team a month before and asked that they review the results of that team before my appointment. I was asked to speak with a PA via telemedicine before coming in for an in person appointment and that was fine. When I spoke with the PA I repeated what I told the scheduler ... please check and review the information from my previous pain management experience as well as my neuro surgeon's notes. I live about 45 minutes from this location so when I arrived on time for my appointment and met the doctor who was going to give me the steroid injection he had not reviewed any of the information I had asked twice that he review BEFORE my appointment. He reads aloud while in my presence the information and as I'm being asked to get on the examining table for my shot Dr. Taboada eralized how painful it was for me to to that he then decided that I had to be sedated in the surgical center on another day! I returned for my injection and was given anathesia and the shot. I had told him that previous shots this year and previous years had not changed my pain level and had he checked with the previous pain management he would have known this. Then I was asked to return to meet with the PA for an in-person appointment and he advised me they had done all they could! I wasted yet another trip and appointment visit ... they could have emailed or called me to tell me that! I recall the staff were professional and quite pleasant and helpful ... just disappointed with the doctor and PA who didn't listen to my request or seemingly be prepared when I did meet with them.

They have made several mistakes, which I consider serious...it's as if they aren't reading their own notes in my records of treatment. I find them unprofessional and a hack for turning profits, rather than an effective treatment center. I have switched to the Pain & Spine Specialists of CT in Farmington, and am finally receiving proper care.

The shots I get in my lumbar area from Dr. Pearl are relatively painless...a testament to her experience. On my last visit, I noticed a sign that said they take Discover, MC, Visa and AMEX. I gave the receptionist my AMEX and was told that they don't take it. I pointed to the sign and she apologized and said she was aware of it. I didn't want to point out that maybe they should take it down.
