I do have one negative thing I need to share. I called Russell Cycle Products and inquired about the cost, I was quoted $375, and I'd send them my seat and they would install the backrest. As it turned out, I was in town a few weeks later (I live in Idaho) so I stopped by their shop, gave them my info, and put on their schedule. All I had to do was send them my seat by a certain date, they would do the work, call me for payment and then they'd send me my new seat. Again, I was quoted $375. The work was done quickly and they called with the exact price, $733!! I asked about the quote of $375 and they said that was for the backrest but the seat had to be recovered and that was the extra cost. I argued and was finally given a 10 percent discount, the seat costs me $718 total. I wasn't happy but needed my seat back so I paid up. So.... get your quotes in writing and make sure there are no undisclosed extra costs.

Took it to Shasta explaining I'm travelling. They got me in right away and after a couple hours, they broke the news to me. Main transmission shaft bearings went out. It would take at least 10 days to get the parts in. The sales manager asked if he could get me out the door on a brand new bike for less money than my repairs would cost, would I be interested in doing it? Long story short, they sent me out the door on a new Ultra Limited for far less money than what my repair would have been. Not only that, but the tech working on my old bike, Kevin, even helped me transfer some accessories from the old bike to the new one. Thank Kevin and Shasta!

Sadly Shasta Harley never really did anything to correct these safety Items they sold the bike…read morewith. Just called and wanted to "trade it in like a regular trade deal. Bike still sitting in garage 99 percent of the time. very disappointing. If dealer wants to give me full amount spent on trade for a different bike I would come in. but no contact at this point.

Week on Lake Shasta saved by California Custom Trailers and Powersports. My SeaDoo swallowed rocks…read moreon a Wednesday afternoon (7/9/25), called Calif Customs they said bring it in they have an opening on Tuesday (7/15/25), fully booked until then. I explained I would be leaving the lake Sunday so that wouldn't work. Service Manager said bring it in today we'll see what we can do. Got there an hour later and they pulled mechanic off of another job to work on my issue. I thought I'd have to leave for a day, mechanic asked if I'd mind waiting about an hour. They not only fixed, hooked up trailer to my truck and I was out of there in less than 60 minutes. It cost half of what my son paid in the bay area 6 years ago for identical work. These guys are great, entire staff friendly and just wanted to get us back on the lake. I could not have been more pleased, especially since it cost much less than I was anticipating. Great business, highly recommended.
