The repair was more extensive then i had hoped but I let my bike sit for several years, so that's on me. I saw a few bikes that came into their shop that had been previously worked on by others, one in particular had missing screws, bolts, and the wiring needed to be resorted. I do have one negative thing I need to share. I called Russell Cycle Products and inquired about the cost, I was quoted $375, and I'd send them my seat and they would install the backrest. As it turned out, I was in town a few weeks later (I live in Idaho) so I stopped by their shop, gave them my info, and put on their schedule. All I had to do was send them my seat by a certain date, they would do the work, call me for payment and then they'd send me my new seat. Again, I was quoted $375. The work was done quickly and they called with the exact price, $733!! I asked about the quote of $375 and they said that was for the backrest but the seat had to be recovered and that was the extra cost. I argued and was finally given a 10 percent discount, the seat costs me $718 total. I wasn't happy but needed my seat back so I paid up. So.... get your quotes in writing and make sure there are no undisclosed extra costs.

Instead, they only completed one recall and wanted me to leave it several more days for the second part. I couldn't afford to be without my only transportation, so I had to take it back unfinished. Just a few days later, I removed the seat and discovered a sheared-off bolt exactly where they had worked on the recall. I've never performed my own service -- this was clearly their mistake. When I contacted them, they basically denied responsibility and said the bike "wouldn't have left the shop like that." The frustration and lack of accountability left me feeling completely let down by a dealership I expected better from. Fellow Harley riders -- beware. If you need recall service at Shasta Harley, go somewhere else. They're unreliable, unwilling to stand behind their work, and may leave you stranded or with new damage. Not worth the headache

My SeaDoo swallowed rocks…read moreon a Wednesday afternoon (7/9/25), called Calif Customs they said bring it in they have an opening on Tuesday (7/15/25), fully booked until then. I explained I would be leaving the lake Sunday so that wouldn't work. Service Manager said bring it in today we'll see what we can do. Got there an hour later and they pulled mechanic off of another job to work on my issue. I thought I'd have to leave for a day, mechanic asked if I'd mind waiting about an hour. They not only fixed, hooked up trailer to my truck and I was out of there in less than 60 minutes. It cost half of what my son paid in the bay area 6 years ago for identical work. These guys are great, entire staff friendly and just wanted to get us back on the lake. I could not have been more pleased, especially since it cost much less than I was anticipating. Great business, highly recommended.

The 2 guys at the front desk and the other employee standing next to them never said a word to me coming or going or during the 20 minutes I spent looking at motorcycles. I'm in the market for one but I will be looking elsewhere.
