Dr. Stoxen is for real. Honestly, I was skeptical. His accolades seemed too good to be true. But, I have suffered from numerous health issues and seen a neurologist and most recently a vascular surgeon due to having Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I've been to chiropractors, an acupuncturist and Chinese Herbologist. The latest recommendation from my medical team was for three months of physical therapy and if that didn't work: surgery. We decided that it was worth a shot. What could be worse than a vascular surgeon taking out a rib or cutting a muscle in my neck? All of this seems so extreme, but I lost my voice, my arms go numb when I sleep, and I'm always in spasms. Sometimes I feel like I can't take in a proper breath. Dr. Stoxen spent three solid days treating me. I could not understand what could take hours and hours. The fact is that undoing the mess in my body can't be done in a 45 minute visit, even if it was multiple times a week for months. As soon as you feel improved, everything spasms right back up. I have been going to Team Doctors when I was living in Chicago at the Pulaski location, and Dr. James Stoxen and his team does an amazing job! They go above and beyond to make sure your injuries are strengthened and healed!!! Very important, as healing without the strength is useless because it will get injured again!! The Team Doctors location is right off the highway so I get off on Ohio, go a few blocks to Lasalle, a few lefts and Im in one of the two free parking lots they have with valet parking from 9 am - 10 pm. After treatment, valet brings my car, I get in, go down Ontario and Im on 94 heading home fast. It's a perfect in and out for my chiropractic tune ups. When I walked in I did not feel like I was in a doctors office but more like a top shelf health club. He has every piece of training equipment a health club has and free weights. The gym has to be about 25 feet by 40 feet or more with high ceilings and plenty of sunlight. I I went there because I had a sore neck and back. He saw my muscles were tight, gave me this incredible 30 - 45 minute full body massage with the Massage Assist he invented and at the end my pain was gone. I felt like I just did a great workout, the blood was rushing through me and my skin was red and warm. My legs felt lighter and I felt I got the spring back in my step. Through the entire time he applied the therapy he explained the science of inflammation which was causing my aches and pains and how it has an accelerated aging effect on all the other bodies systems like the brain, circulation system, moods, and my skin. When I was done, he asked me how I felt and I told him I felt great. He told me that was because that treatment flushed out the inflammation and stimulated my circulation. I got that. There is no way a hands on massage can duplicate what this of this massage device does. No way You know chiropractors and other therapists try to sell you the package and all that. He just told me that I should consider regular treatments to keep inflammation from aging me and just to to come back anytime when I needed it. I went back one more time and I was good to go. Without having to write a novel long review, I figured I would just get straight to the point. I had long feared chiropractors due to a bad experience with one during a whiplash recovery. But one day having done some heavy construction work recently (which is out of my normal scope), I had somehow injured myself and was in terrible pain. Complete waste of time and money. Dr proclaims he has the answers for lower back pain and has seen similar cases thousands of times and can assure help. Desperate for help as I was I wasted over two months before noticing that although my legs were lighter, that my lower back felt ZERO relief. He points to his pictures of boxers on the wall, and tries to sell his service this way that he knows what he is doing. He advises every patient that I saw come through the office into buying shoes he is partnered with which are ugly and don't do a thing. He has no staff so he double books appointments and wastes patients time. Sorry to have wasted all the time and out of pocket money I did for no relief. read more

First you need to know that Dr. Stoxen can come off as an arrogant jerk. If you can get past that you are in for some good care. Some of the others who work with the doctor are very friendly and provide good care (some better than others), and hopefully training has improved some in terms of the consistency. The doctor is thorough, and actually does care about his patients and getting them to be as healthy as possible. If you have foot problems skip the podiatrist and come here. read more
