That way when he makes a mistake the teacher can correct him right away. When my son signed up, he got a free set of clothes. He practices 1.5 hour each time three times a week. The teacher encourages them to go on Saturday also, but I'm too lazy to take them. But if your kids like to practice extra, it's at no charge. He used to take a different martial arts class, but the class was big and my son didn't get the personal attention that he needs. He's not a "natural" so needs a lot of corrections. He's also kind of shy and talks too quietly. Here the teacher makes them all take turn leading the warm ups so he gets a chance to practice his leadership skills and to project his voice.
