Gotta say I'm super disappointed that the old Boba shop here is gone. So we tried the new establishment hoping it would be similar. This was not the worse tea I've tasted but far from what it use to be. It's clear that the previous owner only transferred the store and none of the recipes. The concept of this new place is different. They let you pick and scoop your own toppings (Boba, jelly, etc..) Prices and selections are average. You have all your typical flavor but nothing that'll blow your mind. Seems like the typical tapioca express or lollicup type menu. But even those would be OK if the drinks were good. I'm not sure why all 23 reviews at the time of this writing gave 5* but I did not feel this was anywhere near that. I ordered the grapefruit black tea. I basically drank a cup of sugar water. Not the slightest bit of any tea flavor. I got sick to my stomach halfway through cause of all the sugar. It's like ruining your appetite by eating the dessert before dinner. Was here with some friends one night for boba. Tea Way Plus is different from a lot of other boba places in town. How are they different? They let you put in your own toppings so you control what toppings you want and how much you want. They have a huge selection of drinks for you to choose from. If you like milk teas, they have a list. If you don't, they have flavored teas and slushes. I could barely choose what I wanted to get. In the end, I decided to go for what's familiar to me: passion fruit green tea. Since it was my first time at this spot, I asked for less ice and half sweet. Most places make their drinks way too sweet so I always have to order half sweet. When you order, they write down your order on the cup and give you the cup. From there, you can put what topping and how much into your cup, then you give it back to them so they can pour your drink in. They had different types of jellies, boba, and MINI BOBA! I haven't seen mini boba in ages! Guess what? That's what I got. Surprisingly, my drink at half sweet was not sweet at all. I tasted more of the tea than anything else. However, I was hoping that there would be more passion fruit flavor. Guess I'll get it at full sweetness next time. The boba, however, was a huge disappointment. This spot took over what was once Mr Z Tea Company. What drew us in is the fact they are the first in Vegas to offer self serve boba and toppings! To be in control of how much toppings to add to your drink can be dangerous. I told my kids about this spot and they were pretty excited to try this place out and kept saying "Imma fill my cup full of boba." Lol I honestly don't see the point of that but whatever. But then again I'm not the type that likes to add boba to my drinks so my personal opinion probably doesn't count ;) But anyway, the ordering process is pretty simple. You order and pay for your drink, they give you your cup, you fill it with your toppings, and then you'l place your cup on the counter for them to add your drink. It's a pretty straight forward process. I think the most difficult part is figuring out what toppings to add since there are so many different flavored jellies to choose from and then of course the boba. Personally, I thought the drinks could have been better. I would say it was a good 3 stars. I do give them an extra star due to being the first to offer self serve toppings here. I've heard of this concept in other cities but have never been to one, so the experience itself was pretty cool. But if you're really into jamming your drinks with all sorts of toppings, you should definitely try this place out.
