My favorite bubble tea is the honeydew. It tasted quite watery with no hint of honeydew but just a full flavor of milk. The bubbles tasted great and brought the sweetness back to the drink. My bf got their frozen yogurt- I only took a bite but it was quite icy. read more

Very cute looking Taiwanese-run bubble tea establishment with inconsistent quality. On some days it is very good, other days it can be quite bad. The tapioca pearls in the tea are sometimes too hard and uncooked on the inside, but on the occasions where it has been soft and slightly chewy, it is very good. Depending on the server, they are sometimes stingy with the tapioca. They do offer a stamp card which earns one stamp per drink. After buying 10 drinks, they give you an ALMOST free drink (a value of $3.50. A small bubble tea costs approximately $4.00) You must have all 10 drinks on the same stamp card since they do not allow you to stack multiple cards. A decent place, but Cafe East on the campus of Columbia University has more consistent tapioca and better tasting tea. read more

Taro milk tea was terrific! Nice flavor, just the right amount of sweetness, and good-tasting boba.

Hands down, the best bubble tea I have had in NY or in DC. The food, however, is horrible. I have tried a couple of their desserts and the vegetarian buns and I think from now on Ill stick with the tea only. read more

Real tea leaves and excellent fruit juices makes great tea. Didn't try anything else. Had the passionfruit black tea, very sweet. I got bubbles instead of fruit jelly like I ordered but I didn't want to trouble the guy for jelly and bubbles in my drink or to make another one (4+ yrs of being a cashier made me very employee-friendly). I tried another's drink (strawberry) and it had real strawberry pieces in it. I don't know why they have the big TVs showing the menu, but the decor was inviting as a group of people were chatting at their tables. What you absolutely MUST try: the hazelnut milk tea (cold) and the pork and cabbage bun...SO. GOOD.

Boba is definitely not my beverage of choice - I'm not into the whole combination of eating and chewing at the same time, plus each little tapioca "pearl" packs quite a punch, seeing as how they're starch + sugar. I got the passion fruit Fruit Slush with bubbles, and it was like chugging down mouthfuls of undiluted fruit syrup. It was overwhelmingly sugary, and I felt myself slipping ... slipping into a diabetic coma. Drank half of it before I realized that my tongue had gotten slightly numb and all I could taste was this chemical, metallic sweetness. Yikes. I took the half cup back home, added some more water and ice, and now it's much more bearable, but if you have any kind of aversion to overly sweet drinks, I would recommend skipping this one, since I believe they make it from powder, so you can't even adjust the sweetness level. Their food menu is quite extensive - frozen yogurt, dumplings that they'll heat up for you, tea eggs, pork buns, and at least five different kinds of toast (the nutella one looks pretty good!). Seating area gets packed during lunch and dinner hours; otherwise, come here with a book or a friend to catch up. read more

I have a frenemy relationship with Tea Magic. Being a part-time UWS-der on the weekends, this is the only reasonably located/good tasting bubble tea place in the area so alas this is my go-to because I am a bubble tea addict. Though I am appreciative to have this place to depend on, my inner cheapie side is unhappy with paying more than Chinatown prices for my addiction. Also, the service can be quite slow. Tapioca bubbles are smaller and softer (I hate tough, tasteless tapioca bubbles that most places in Chinatown use) and they have many different flavors. Reasonable prices too. I stopped in here this afternoon for an almond milk tea with tapioca. It was pretty good. Not as great as places in Flushing, Elmhurst, or Chinatown, but light years better than any street vendor that serves product that claims to be "bubble tea." In other words, a good place to get your bubble tea fix in Morningside, if you don't want to schlep downtown or to Queens. Price not horrible either. read more

Not as good as Chinatown, but a solid bubble tea spot. Love the lavender milk tea and in the summer, the milk slush makes a nice less-indulgent stand in for a milkshake. They also sell some food - dumplings, steamed buns, tea eggs. Seating is limited so it's better to grab and go. read more

I'm a huge bubble tea fan, but this places uses fake sugar (and a lot of it). The tapioca is ok, but the tea is pretty bad. A better bet is Shiny tea - a few blocks south. Probably the best bubble tea on the UWS. And for the best boba in NYC.... well, that's all the way in Queens. read more

This yogurt is growing on me, especially with the free topping (pomegranate seeds, please). I'm still not convinced by the bubble tea, but the yogurt is starting to suck me in regularly. Pretty gosh darned good, and I'm a tough customer when it comes to boba. The boba was nice a great texture and sweet. They made the tea less sweet as I requested, which I love when done well. The menu for tea flavors isn't as extensive as some of my other favorite spots, and certain flavors are only listed as black or green tea not black or green. Next time I go in, and there will be a next time, I'll have to inquire if I can get some of my favorites with black tea as well. read more

Their bubble tea is really good. Try passion fruit green tea with bubble, my favorite in this store.

While not the best bubble tea ever it is definitely one of the best outside of Chinatown in NYC! I get off the 1 at 110 St at least once a week around 5:30pm and am able to get my bubble tea for cheap and quickly. I've never been in the store longer than 7minutes-sure beats waiting on one of the Starbucks lines in the area. For $6.28 I walk out with a a large (think large soup container from the chinese food place) hot bubble tea with plenty of chewy bubbles and yummy, milky tea flavors. Delivery guy calls me to come downstairs but he is not there and my both of my teas are spilled out onto the floor as if he dropped them and ran off. I called the restaurant and they didnt accommodate me by sending two more. I enjoyed a quick iced coffee and bagel from Think. The coffee was quite good, definitely not that overly marketed, gross Starbucks variety. Admittedly, I'll always choose a local coffee shop over a chain. The pumpernickel bagel was fresh and soft with the perfect outer crispy/chewy crust we all love about bagels. (I enjoyed mine with a generous helping of cream cheese.) There were plenty of tables, but I opted for a seat at the coffee bar. The ambience is great and I just love being surrounded by the smell of freshly ground and brewed coffee. This place is a winner! read more

The staff is nice and will customize your drink for you. You can ask for skim milk, soy milk, or less sugar. They also have some stuff that isn't on the menu. I've gotten coffee and black tea bubble tea, which is very good. The space is almost all white and ultra modern. Sort of pretty, but a bit intimidating. Their main thing is "Bubble Milk Tea," sweetened, very milky tea with balls of tapioca in it, but they also have pastries, frozen yogurt, and special Asian fast-food noodles that my Asian friend tells me are very legit.
