Tyler Gray whose phone number 214-970-7600 goes directly to Building Solutions of Texas over charged me $1,300. while working for VODA Cleaning & Restoration & Building Solutions of Texas at the same time. I installed a new Rheem air conditioning and heating system in February, 2024 at 1802 Maplewood Trail Colleyville, Texas, a rental property I own. My tenant called me and said he noticed a black stain near a vent. I got VODA's phone number from the internet and called them to send someone out to take a look and possibly clean the air ducts. Tyler arrived first at 1802 Maplewood Trail in Colleyville. He looked at the vent and then went into the attic. When he came down, he told me and my tenants that there was mold in the ducts. He told me the chemicals to remove mold were very expensive. I told him I wanted to take care of this ASAP. I walked back to his truck and we discussed a price. He said it would be $1,000 but if I paid him in cash, it would be $800. I asked if he gave Veteran discounts and showed him my driver's license showing I am a Veteran. He said he already did by reducing the price by $200. When he told me and my tenants they were breathing in mold. I was aware this could be a very serious health hazard. I thought about it and decided if I could save a few hundred dollars I would pay him in cash and told him to take care of it. Since I did not have that much cash, I went to the Chase Bank branch which is less than 10 minutes from 1802 and took out the $800 and wrote on the check duct cleaning. Tyler spent about 30 minutes putting chemicals through the system while my tenants waited outside the home. When I came back from the bank he came out, he said he had removed the mold contamination but the ducts should be replaced. He called someone, described the situation and put me on the phone with him. I did not get his name but he gave me a rough estimate of $2,400 and said he would have to come out to see the job to give me a firm estimate. The company he called was Building Solutions of Texas. Since my daughter lived across the street at 1831 Maplewood, I asked him to check her system. He showed me a picture of a large pan in the attic with spots. He said it was mold and would do her place for $600. I called my wife and had her go to Chase Bank to pick up another $600. He ran chemicals through my daughter's system and showed me the pan was clean and It did look like new. .I have since discovered it was a picture taken some ware else. I paid him the $600. I asked him for a receipt. I do not remember what he said but he offered me a receipt from a book of receipts he had in the truck. It was a blank receipt so I did not take it. I am not looking for money back but if he did this to me, I am sure he will try to do the same to others.

We priced the options with our builder. Our son-in-law suggested we see what a flooring contractor, Zuriel Flooring, he had used in the past could do. It turned out that Zuriel could provide the same flooring for about $6,000-$7,000 less than the builder. They also gave us an option for stained, solid hardwoods. That option was almost $10,000 less than the builder option. Zuriel's per square foot pricing was less than several well known national/local companies that we had received quotes. From the first conversation and subsequent meetings, we haven't had a better relationship with a contractor we've worked with. Zuriel delivered a high quality product sooner than they committed to finishing and were always responsive to our calls. They have been outstanding! If you are looking for new or replacement floors, you will miss out if you don't at least contact Jordan at Zuriel Flooring to see what they can do for you. Zuriel Flooring LLC +1 (469) 427-3488

The work was quoted for a week including decorative ceilings (which was dropped for said reasons), dry walling a living room, kitchen covering a removed door, etc. Admittedly far from a quick job, which was fine with us.The worker (notice the singular form of the word) showed up Wednesday to start work which was expected (minus the crew with him that was expected), fine maybe they would show up....nope. Single worker was just the start. Wrong again after putting about 2 sheets of drywall up he left. A call from Craig (Drywall Guyz sales I guess) they went be back out to the house until Monday. Well no way to make that week deadline they gave us, fine. We can cope a little longer. The single worker at a time starts back up Monday. We check the house at night for progress, we bring up concerns like the original amateur couldn't cut out electric / light boxes with any degree of ability, the drywall around the sliding glass door wasn't picture framed in, and we will see stress fractures if it wasn't fixed. Always assured it would be fixed...fine. Wrong again. Come the following Wednesday (now double the time, with less requested because the workers ran out of materials for whatever at this point) he has seen the house and ready to get paid. Meet him at the house, Craig is 30 minutes late with no call. Finally here, I point out some of the cut outside and how bad they are, immediate "we didn't put that in". Agreed, you were hired to fix the mistakes. We said from the beginning if more drywall was needed that was fine we were willing to pay for it. Since the beginning. Point out the windows weren't trimmed out either. "Well none of the other windows are that way" yes they are. Still wanted his check, who cares about quality as long as you get paid, right? Use at your own risk, they should have been fired week when they couldn't show up for more than a couple hours.
