Sometimes I really don't get how Vancity operates, like really, there is no sense in the matter,…read moreand where I am going with this is when you actually need to line up at the teller. Let's get to the good stuff before I go down the line of waiting in line here.
They finally changed out those ancient machines, yes, the machines have big screens, have short cut keys, take money where you don't have to lick an envelope, like George's fiance in Seinfeld and wait for that dried glue to take affect to your tongue, and it's an airy nice branch to be in, aesthetically it is one of the better VC branches. There usually is parking, albeit tight parking, but there is.
Now we get to the line up..... So on any day I am here, it seems like this lineup just doesn't move, and there is like no awareness of the situation, like where is the floor manager, or where is the person working there not seeing that the line isn't just not moving but growing in size. Then there is the whole business account lineup, or lack there of.... ok... so I'm still waiting, and then the side line, with a person probably with a business account just plops into the line, and then because a person that is not devoted to the business client's frees up... they help the business client.... who just got into the branch, while me and the other smucks stay in the line up wondering if we should just move our money to a financial institution that can service us... cause we didn't just get in line for nothing.
There is another thing that I am going to say... get rid of the archaic verbal password, especially since you are taking our bank cards and processing us at the beginning, any legit place would ask us to enter a pin, seriously, it's not like we are going into a private cubicle, or better, the ATM machine which has way more privacy than the teller stations at Vancity. Even if the person next to me is not trying to listen... you know they can hear whatever is said.
I am glad that the upsell on products offered is kept at a minimum, and I understand that is in their job to do what they need to do, but really the first thing is to service thy client. We have been taught well to use the ATM.... and it works better now, but please... improve the forward facing clientele, and get that line moving!
