I should have reviewed them long ago…read more When I moved down to Foxboro about 10 years ago, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need to change banks (having come from the South Shore). RFCU had a branch in Mansfield, and soon had branches in neighboring towns. Free checking, friendly tellers, free coin machine and redemption, and they're on the SUM network which means I'm never far from an ATM. I've only ever had one or two minor issues and they were handled promptly by tellers or customer service folks via phone. PS- They have real humans answering their phones!

Today, I was going to attend my grand daughters graduation, and went through the Foxboro Drive up just to break a large bill into 2 $50.00 bills. Teller acted like I was bothering her, then asked if I was a customer. (Really?.... you're a bank). When I said no, I wasn't a customer, she refused to break the bill for me. I was going to open an account in town as we will eventually be moving back....it will not be with SCU. If that's indicative of their attitude and service. On a great note, I then went to TD Bank, who greeted me cheerfully and said " of course, one minute please". I think I found my bank!

My Rockland Trust debit card information was stolen and used by someone in another state to make a…read morepurchase of nearly $1,000.00 I was sent a text message from Rockland Trust on that day asking me if I made this purchase, to which I replied "NO", and the card was subsequently frozen and my account was given a provisional credit for that $1,000.00 fraudulent purchase. Fast forward 3 months later, and the provisional credit I had been given was then RESCINDED by Rockland Trust, and I was told they had been given "proof" by the merchant where the fraudulent transaction occurred that it was not fraudulent, despite the fact that the bank itself CONTACTED me that day when the purchase was made as they suspected it to be fraudulent. Now Rockland Trust is telling me there is "nothing more we can do", despite having already being able to provide me a credit for the fraudulent purchase that they TOLD me about the moment it happened. I will very likely be taking my business elsewhere entirely and never banking here again because of this complete failure, on Rockland Trust's part, to protect me and my financial security despite every indication and piece of evidence they had to do so.

First, there was no window, no person to see. Second, no one came on the intercom to greet or assist me. So, I proceeded to pull the container and place the check and my license in it, push the send button. Five minutes later, I push the call button to make sure someone got it. The response I got was that the money was on the way. After the container came back, there was no "Thank You" or anything. If they treat a non-customer that way, I can't imagine how they would treat an actual customer.

I could go on much further in my praise for this institution but let it suffice to say it is so much better than dealing with a 'big bank'. When you call, they know the person, not just the name on the screen. And you know who's on the phone with you too. I joined a long time ago and have never found a reason to conduct my banking anywhere else.

Myke is like a 1 out of 100000 gem that would keep you doing business with a company, he was just that great. I don't think I've ever met a more upbeat, pleasant, friendly employee ANYWHERE in a very very very long time, and I am in customer service myself. If you use a Rockland Federal Credit Union ATM card to withdraw money from another financial institution, they refund the transaction fees. A couple of times I have been out and about without my wallet and needed cash ... and, because they know me by sight, they let me do a withdrawal without ID. They contacted us when suspicious activity occurred in my daughter's dormant account. It's a good thing! Someone was draining it with fake jewelry purchases. Branch Manager Marlene Girvan is awesome. She is the face of the branch and takes that role seriously. What a gem they have in her! This bank has my back and I will never bank elsewhere.
