I asked a contractor friend of mine and Andy was the man! I have never met anyone more passionate about their trade! Andy quoted me several possibilities for our system. Ariana has offered a customized solution for us to heat the entire 2nd floor (4 bedrooms and 2 bath), it was installed last week and we are amazed at how well it maintains the temperature that we set it at. No more electric baseboard type heating! We would highly recommend this company. The installers were very professional and the work was done quickly and without hassle of any sort. Clean up was well done, and the installation looks very good, the compressor, ductwork, insulation, electrical and at the air handler. We would like to thank you again for the exceptional service and product. Andrew and Irene

I sought multiple service offers on Yelp after being informed that a trustworthy source was unable…read moreto provide services until March. Nulight was provided with the same information as other parties, including the utility panel. None of the five respondents provided me with the same information regarding what I required, including Nulight Electric. One claimed I required a electrical management unit. When asked about this factoring the explanation I was given, the Nulight representative initially agreed, only to then claim my panel had the required capacity. The change was noted and it reinforced the feeling I had that nobody really seemed to be on the same page and that I should ask an uninterested third party for confirmation as to what my needs were, stressing that the install should meet code or be permitted by Surrey. The representative claimed to be unable to service after this, with the issue of "asking a third party" seeming to be the sticking point. I'm not a certified electrician myself. Being given different options for the same "request" while being given different reasonings by 5 different professionals is fairly alarming. The fact that Nulight shows no sympathy or interest for this is equally alarming. Others were more keen to wait for me to obtain confirmations while Nulight seemed more interested in rushing a booking. I believe it to be reasonable of me to want to be able to trust people I pay hundreds or thousands of dollars to do important work in my home and Nulight is not one of those companies.

My family just had the unfortunate incident of our furnace breaking down over the weekend. I…read moreimmediately went on Yelp to search for a reliable and favorable furnace repair shop. I chose Universal Heating based purely on the great reviews. It really made a difference in my opinion. Rob the technician showed up on Monday in the afternoon. Diagnosed the issue and found out I would need a new control board. Instead of just assuming I would need it right away, he offered me options to save some money. We could wait till the next day so that I wouldn't need to pay for him to drive downtown on the same day and come back and install it. We'd gone this long without heat, what's another day. He came back the next day about the same time and fixed it. Now granted the furnace was about 7-8 years old, he did offer some great advice to prolong the lifespan of this furnace. I'd recommend these guys every time. Thanks Rob. PS. Folks, a nice tip is not expected but greatly appreciated.

We hired Dan Wilcox to do the electrical work for our kitchen renovation in November 2022. I…read morebelieve he started the work on November 19th. We paid 80% ($2704.80) of the invoice after the first stage of the work was complete. Since then he has returned on two occasions to continue the work, however it remains incomplete and our kitchen pot light switches are wired incorrectly. When you flip the switch, some lights turn off and other lights turn on. Other lights flicker badly. He has crossed the circuits somewhere so that three different switches are controlling lights that should be controlled by only one switch, which leads them to turn lights on and off simultaneously. I'm concerned this is a fire hazard. Some of the pot lights are also not secure to the ceiling and are sagging down. He also was supposed to finish our above the stove vent so it vents to the outside. He has left it venting into our attic. I'm very concerned this is a fire hazard in our home and do not feel safe using our stove or kitchen lights with three kids at home. He said he would be here January 3rd to fix the mess of a job he did but never showed up and is now ignoring phone calls from both myself and our contractor. He will not return messages or texts, even though I can see he has read them. He has taken our money and abandoned the job. Also totally botched the work that he did complete.
