The job also includes: Structural work in the walls, Floors and ceiling, Flooring installation, tile work, all appliances, fixtures, sliding closet doors, pocket doors, glass, stone counters and cabinets. Daniel is detail and quality oriented and a good value compared to comparable GCs. I recommend you speak with him early in your project, he has a lot of experience and may have some good input for you

Electrical, plumbing and painting work were also needed. Having never undertaken any type of project on the house before, I relied on photos and reviews of previous clients. Working with Daniel and his crew day to day for a total of 4 weeks, I have nothing but great things to say about the entire experience. Daniel's crew are punctual, respectful, professional and always cleaned up at the end of each day. Daniel carefully listened to all of my needs for this project and once completed, all stated needs were met. I will definitely be working with Daniel again for many upcoming projects. It was a pleasure working with all of them and I recommend them to anyone looking for any home improvement work to be done on their home.

I cannot say enough nice things about the San Rafael crew from Green Bay! I had never remodeled…read moreanything and was daunted about the scope of work and all of minutiae entailed therein. Noy was my project manager and was a blessing. He held my hand thru the entire process and communicated everything clearly. Other contractors I consulted declined certain suggestions, but Noy made them happen. The work was first rate as were the materials. The crew was polite and respectful of my kids and my cats. I can't wait to have them do more!

Finished product is beautiful, but the process and project management is not as advertised…read more We met with 5 different contractors to get bids for our small bathroom remodel project. Green Bay Remodeling was the highest bid by 20-50%. We selected Green Bay because they pitched themselves as a turnkey solution and I would simply sit back and just make payments. In reality I needed to be involved constantly to keep this project on track. A few examples: - Sourcing: In the sales meeting, we were told that materials would be sourced by them from their "catalog" and shipped from "their warehouse". I liked the simplicity of that, but in reality, they order things from online vendors like Wayfair and Home Depot and shipped directly to my home. This turned my garage space into their warehouse for nearly 2 months. Also, it is just bad business to ship heavy, breakable things - for example, we had 2 toilets delivered to our home in giant packages - both of which were broken on arrival. (there's a hardware store less than a mile from my home that has toilets in stock) - Communication: We were promised daily updates, this did happen once the construction work started because they often wanted a payment, but we went for long times not hearing during planning process. - Timeline was set by PM as 4 weeks from sign date for permits and planning (closer to 8 weeks due to absences and avoidable omissions on permit application) and 4 weeks for construction (that was met with multiple issues and creative workarounds deployed). - Presence: We understood the PM would be present on the site and would be the main point of contact, but he was missing at key times - including during an inspection with the city permitting department - Attention to detail: Materials were sourced late or incorrectly (a 60 inch vanity ordered rather than 72inch) and broken materials were not identified immediately. We made the construction timeline but only with some creative solutions and lots of legwork. Overall, the guys at GBR are nice, charming people and the finished product looks good. But I give that credit to the amazing sub-contractor who completed the entire project. He covered for their issues and went out of his way to solve problems so that the finished product looked amazing and was finished on time. I would give this person a 5 star review, but I would not engage GBR in the future as this does not reflect value for money.

I was referred to Luis by a coworker and he was fantastic!…read more In the past 5 years, I've probably worked with a dozen contractors in the Bay Area, from GC, drywall, electricians, plumbers, tile, HVAC, and landscape (after having completed a down to the studs renovation in 2021). I would consider Luis in the top 10% of people I have ever worked with. Luis was easy to communicate with, showed up on time, clearly outlined the scope of work, and delivered exactly what was asked for and more, at a fair price! My water heater was EOL and developed a leak which damaged the plywood housing supporting it. Luis cut out the damaged part, cleaned all the mess out, reinforced the subfloor joists, and replaced it with new plywood. All of this in time so that the plumber could install a new water heater the same day. While he was here, I also asked him to make some small adjustments to my cabinets. One of my cabinet doors had broken off and I ordered new hinges but struggled to get it back on level. Luis made sure that 3 cabinet doors which were a little off-level were adjusted and tightened to open and close perfectly. He even noticed my front door had the same issue and proactively fixed that too. He did such a great job that my fiance wants to hire him to do a fence for us. 5/5 stars!

Beautiful craftmanship (shoutouts to Rene's gorgeous tile work, Juan's perfect paint job). 3. Clear and thorough communication and coordination of the work by Luis. 4. Reliability - always arrive when they say they will. 5. Knowledgeable about all aspects of construction. Lastly, Luis was just great at listening to us, providing helpful ideas along the way, but understanding our vision for the bathroom remodel. And he is the most calm and mellow soul, perfect for the, at times, stressful work he does. Thank you Luis!

David Mulligan is as good as it gets when it comes to a general contractor in the Marin area. If he…read morehas availability to do your project you must hire him. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This was my first remodeling project and I chose David and Builders of Marin after interviewing ~4 different contractors. The project was a to-the-studs renovation and expansion of a ~1,500sqft, 2 bed, 2 bath ranch home into a ~3,500sqft 4 bed, 4.5 bath contemporary home. Complicating the build was (1) that the house was on a steeply sloped, small lot, (2) needed an entirely new foundation, and (3) was on a narrow street with no parking. WORKING WITH DAVID AND BOM: Working with David on this project was a pleasure. I hear friends describe their interactions with contractors and consider myself very lucky that I was able to work with David and his team on my project. If I ever do any remodel I will only do it if I can get David to do the work, and if I ever buy another house I will get David to visit the property with me. In fact, I would probably hire David first and then shop around for an architect. David is highly responsive, detail oriented, and does what he says he will do every time. From a work-style perspective, David is the ultimate high-integrity professional -- which is difficult to find in the construction industry at times. HOW DAVID AND BOM ARE BETTER THAN OTHER CONTRACTORS: David and BOM are better than other contractors based on three very important qualities: estimate accuracy, follow-through and execution, and crew / construction quality. ESTIMATE ACCURACY: One of the most difficult things about a high-end residential construction project is getting anyone to tell you how much anything costs. David will do the work to come up with an accurate quote, and will give you a reasonable, sober estimate as to how much different scope changes will change the budget. He brought our project in on-time (incredibly rare) and on budget (when adjusted for us changing the project scope and adding ~700sqft midway through). He does not over-promise or under quote (as many GCs do), and also doesn't mark-up everything by 30% (as many GCs do). Furthermore, if he finds cost savings midway through the project he will help you realize those. FOLLOW-THROUGH: As mentioned above David is accurate at estimating project costs and timelines. He is able to BE accurate because he has the crews and sub-contractor relationships to get the work done on time. Unlike many GCs who over-extend themselves during good construction markets, David has a number of quality crews with incredible site foremen (Kim was ours -- the best!) and is able to realistically budget their time to avoid delays. Furthermore, David believes in doing what he says he will do and will make the construction personnel be there to get the work done. CREW / CONSTRUCTION QUALITY: David believes in retaining the best people and has been working with many members of his crews for 20+ years. Many of his master carpenters started out as unskilled labor with him decades ago, and he has taught and mentored them up himself. What this has allowed David to build is a team obsessed with construction quality that knows how to do things the right way, and can get things done quickly. Furthermore, he has a deep bench of talent that he can put to work on projects to get them done on time, the right way. The commitment to finish quality from David and his whole crew is maniacal, and they are able to pull-off flawless contemporary designs that require high build quality. I would like to call out Kim, Omar, Jesus and the whole BOM team who worked on my house -- they are all incredible craftsmen and wonderful people to be around. For all of these reasons and many more, I wholeheartedly recommend David and Builders of Marin for your next project. I would also recommend you get on his docket early -- he gets booked up fast!

Little did we know at the time, what a massive undertaking this project would be. After talking to several contractors and on the recommendation of our Architect, we selected Builders of Marin to build our home. We picked David because there was something honest about him. What you see is what you get. Having experienced other contractors in the past, that is a huge positive to us and not something we normally encountered. The original plan was to expand onto the existing house but we realized that everything was rotten after decades of neglect by the previous owner and ended up tearing everything down back to dirt and started over. This turned out to be bigger than we ever planned or budgeted for. Along the way, David was able to guide us though all of it. He stepped in and problem solved a range of issues, including many interior design issues that was not even his responsibility. From the mundane of relocating an outlet, to the life changing "holy sh*t, we are having twins", David we need an extra bedroom, David and his experienced crew, handled it all to made our dream on paper become a reality.

Except one of the roofing company recommended a general contractor they had worked with to work on the deck. It all sounded good until I asked the GC for his liability and workman's insurance which was alarmingly lacking. So I came back to Yelp for help. After meeting with several general contractors , Rothman stood out as Marshall expertly identified our deck material as Ipe wood and took steps to preserve it. Rothman also is knowledgeable and is experienced with San Francisco's permitting process. Before the roof work, Rothman efficiently disassembled our deck, removed the old frame and organized the railing and decking in a way that allowed the roofing company to move quickly and complete the roofing work smoothly. Rothman came back afterward to reassemble our deck, plank by plank, carefully and meticulously. Rothman was competitively priced and carried all necessary licenses, insurance, and certifications. Well, it is not easy to find a contractor who is honest, friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, easy to work with, pays attention to details, shows up on time, cleans up well , does great work and finishes on time. The deck looks beautiful now and we couldn't be happier with Rothman's work! Thank you Marshall!!!
