Cole slaw is just one of those foods that you never know if it's going to be good, lol. I did ask when I ordered it if it was mayonnaise-based or vinegar based, and he told me they use both! I had the pulled pork, and I thought it was very good and a generous portion, hubs had the brisket, which he said it was very good but a different consistency than what he is used to at a barbecue joint. I was definitely not a fan of the coleslaw as I found it a too salty for my taste so hubs had that one to himself. The baked beans were very good and I liked the addition of orange and yellow peppers. There are four different kinds of sauces to choose from, and they were tasty. $26 for the two meat to side plate, along with two iced teas. Friendly service.

The pulled pork sandwich I had was possibly the best ever, and their root beer flavored BBQ sauce is "to die for"! The catered food for our family reunion was just as good, if not better. The brisket and chicken were amazing. Also, I'm not a big corn bread guy but I knew my family would want corn bread so we had that included. Let's just say, if all corn bread tasted as good as Pop's, I might eat more corn bread. If you're in the Iowa City area, do yourself a favor and stop at Pop's!

Burnt tips just right; better brisket than I've had in a while. The sides of Cesar Salad, Mac n Cheese (of course!) and cheesy potatoes were ... so rich! And again... plentiful. People went back for seconds until there was not much left! Nobody walked away hungry. Now I didn't ask price, so that's for you to figure. But my sister in law was happy as a clam as was the bride!
