I routinely find myself disappointed in comic shops when I travel. I find that they often have little stock and are more along the lines of gaming shops. TBS has plenty of stock for gaming and obviously hosts its share of RPG and TCG gamers but it's apparent that its heart lies in the comics. TBS has an incredible amount of $1 boxes to browse along with any new issues from any publisher you could wish for and TPBs of all ilks to choose from to top it off. The staff doesn't go out of their way to be friendly, but they are professional and accommodating to their customers. I have attended a handful of Magic the Gathering events at this location and always had a great time. The prices for Magic the Gathering sealed and singles are fair and they generally have the products in rotation you would expect. TBS also has a great selection of bulk cards available for you to sift through which is not something many other shops offer. read more

This is a fantastic comic book store that will make any comic lover's dreams come true. I say this as someone who isn't into comic books, but can appreciate something for what it is. We stopped in here after lunch and David was excited because they have quite the vast selection of books here. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and we started exploring. They have comics new and old and even some collectible comics that cost a bit more, if you're really hardcore about this type of thing. The thing that I always enjoy when coming to shops like this is the selection of "action" figures and Pop figurines. They seem to have one for every comic book and movie that you can think of. While we were here, David picked up one of those hard cases that you put collectible comics in and then hang on your wall. They had a nice selection of $1 comics as well as dice for games, D n D handbooks and pretty much anything else you can imagine. I really liked that in the back of the store there was a big group of people playing some game that seemed pretty intense and, although I've never played anything like that, it looked like they were having a lot of fun. In the words of Sheldon Cooper "I can buy this stuff online, I come here for the customer service." I was looking for a few issues, so I asked a an associate and she offered to call their Ft.Walton store to see if they had what I wanted in stalk. They did and said it would be there the next day. Well I didn't end up making it back til about two weeks later, and they had held my comics for me, even though I didn't call to confirm I'd still be coming to buy them! I was so happy. They have. Always fun coming in here and nerding out with friends. Always a crowd in here every Saturday night. Some times we have to wait to find seats in the back. But while we wait we browse their huge selection of magic cards, comics, board games, plus MORE! They have a huge selection of anything you could think of and even offer snacks to be purchased. If you can't find what you need they also have a computer to look up if they have it in stock behind the counter. Then you just place your order and one of the employees will then go fetch your order within minutes! If you are a fan of this kind of stuff this is the spot for you! The store has a huge area set up for playing card games. They participate in Friday Night Magic and have Draft matches on Saturday pending enough people show up. The staff is friendly and willing to help newcomers. My only complaint is about the prices. I have seen the same products (i.e.- magic cards) sold cheaper elsewhere. Great place to play some games though. read more

This place reminds me of the cozy hole in the wall comic/card shops that you find in bigger cities. There's always a game going on and plenty of comics of every type. It's located next to a pizza shop & Firehouse subs... Snacks & Comics...perfect! They have a decent collection of MTG commons for really cheap but only offer a few decks. I'm impressed by their use of space because everywhere you turn there's comics, anime, cards, supplies, figurines, etc! A great store with a wonderful staff! Their new location is larger, better laid out, and more inviting. They hold tournaments for most competitive games. If you are looking for something they don't have they are more than happy to order it for you. They know most of the regulars by name and are very knowledgable.
