Jesse and his crew were responsive and eager to coordinate directly with my insurance provider, which helped move the process along--but not without some concerns. To start with the positives: Jesse is communicative and aggressive about pushing the claim through insurance. Once work began, the repairs were done relatively quickly. He clearly wants to keep things moving and keep the client informed. However, the full process--from damage to completion--dragged into early April. A lot of that delay falls on the insurance company, but not all. CRE can be a bit too eager to upsell or stretch the scope of work to fit what insurance might cover, and that added some complexity and delay. More importantly, the execution left a lot to be desired. The fascia and trim work ended up dented, scuffed, and uneven in places. Nails were bent over instead of properly seated. Cosmetic flaws that shouldn't be present after a professional repair. And the biggest issue: the roofing subcontractors were extremely sloppy. They left debris scattered across my yard and nails in my driveway--one of which ended up in my tire. That kind of carelessness really undercut any goodwill. In summary: Jesse is responsive and energetic, and CRE will push your claim hard. But expect to keep a close eye on the job, especially the subs, and don't expect perfection on finish work. Our first experience with Kate, who fielded our call and answered many questions, started the adventure with positivity. Next was our roof inspector and estimator, Geddy Fuller - who was fantastic! He conducted a thorough assessment of the roof/exterior of our home to provide an accurate, competitive quote. He made recommendations when we asked, and was very patient as he guided us through the process. He met our insurance adjuster at the home to answer any questions they had, which helped moved the process along quickly. There were zero high pressure sales tactics, and zero gimmicks - a breath of fresh air! The company was well represented, the paperwork process smooth, and also important to us - the quote was competitive and reasonably priced. We next visited the show room in La Plata, MD which had material samples and colors available for us to review and compare on site. The offices are laid out nicely with many items displayed around the room so you can see the actual colors in person, not just view on a computer screen or in a book. Next was Kirsten, the scheduler, who patiently worked with us to establish a date for install while taking into consideration the weather, our schedule and their schedule. The material arrived on time and the job was completed on the scheduled day! The area was cleaned well afterwards and our property was treated with care. The follow up care we received was also a breath of fresh air - they checked to be sure we were satisfied with the work which included shutters, gutters, fascia board, and other items that helped bring our home up to date, all priced well and of good quality. We received our warranty information to file - and in our case it is transferrable if we decide to sell our home - what a value-added bonus! Their expertise and commitment to customer satisfaction are absent. They made an agreement with my ex-wife on some gutters during the roof replacement I authorized. I was not asked nor told about this arrangement. I said several times only what insurance covers. During this entire process Charles harassed my ex-wife for payment checks from the insurance company and then the insurance adjuster to the point that the insurance company detective called me as the uninvolved third party to warm me about Charles toxic behavior towards my ex-wife. In the end all the insurance checks got to Shoreline, despite Charles harassment. His issue was they were sent via USPS and not UPS by the insurance company, something we had no control over. His greed and avarice far outweigh anything I've dealt with in dealing with simple tradesmen. He makes the experience truly exhausting and makes you regret every single moment. CHARLES wrote and picked out 16 photos and told me if I posted that positive review that he would knock off the extra cost $2500 of the gutters if I paid the $2000 my exwife had stiffed them on. I agreed, again foolishly verbal. I left the reviews and paid the invoice sent to $0. Months passed with no issues. 2 days before CHRISTMAS, I get a new invoice with the $2500 on it. I remind him of the verbal and he goes quiet again. Now it's New Year's Eve, both times we spend with our families, and this guy send the invoice again. Literally on the holidays. Despite a verbal agreement that both he AND Matt the owner were on the phone for. I said fine, money is tight and I'll pay the $2500 but you're not getting positive reviews.
