This is who I called but another company showed up. 24/7 garage door…read more IF THE INSTALLER TELLS YOU YOUR GARAGE DOOR MOTOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, READ THIS REVIEW, AS IT MIGHT BE A SCAM! Our installer comes promptly, he's friendly, and it's clear the spring is broken. I know it's better to do two springs simultaneously, but we are about to do a remodel, so I opted for only changing one at $445. When the installer arrived, he planted the seed that after he fixed the spring, the garage opener might be unable to pick the door up. Something about me burning out the motor when we were trying to open the door, etc. I didn't think much of it then but would further learn that this was part of a plan to extort more money. After he was done, the installer went through an elaborate show (has me pick up the door, try the remote, etc.) on how the garage motor does not work anymore, and what he predicted, unfortunately, came true. The motor is totally shot, needs to be fixed, and he gives me my options. Option 1 - (his words) "I don't recommend this because it could break in a week and is not covered under warranty, but for an additional $200 I know how to open the unit and can fix the motor internally." or Option 2 - "I can replace the whole system." I tuned the cost out, but I believe it was another 800 dollars. So, now I am left with the dilemma, I have a garage door that does not work or lock, and I just spent $445. I almost just paid the additional money, but something felt off, so I said no thank you to both options, and he left. I called Chamberlain (the company that makes the opener) customer service to see if the rail or any of the parts were salvageable. Chamberlain asked me a few troubleshooting questions only to conclude something was wrong. It should work. What position are the small dials on the back? They control the torque etc. Somehow, they were both turned all the way to the lowest setting. I turned them both slightly, and the garage door motor magically opened and closed. I would like to give the benefit of the doubt to the installer and think the dials were always in that almost-off position, but I know for a fact that is not the case. The door would never be able to work on that low of a setting (we have a wood door) and had been working since 2019 until the day before. So, the installer purposely manipulated the unit to appear like it did not work so he could charge more money. Full stop. For $200 bucks, he would turn the dials back he lowered, and for $800, he would install a new unit, take away my perfectly working garage door, and probably sell it for additional profit. I know times are tough, and I wrestled with posting this, but I must call this out. You can't exploit people because you know how to rig the system. Awareness is really all we have, so I hope no one else falls for this, and people think twice before they try to take advantage of their customers.

I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent retaining wall replacement…read moreproject completed by John Krause Construction (JKC) at my property. After reading positive reviews and receiving an estimate that, although over my budget, seemed reasonable for the work involved, I made the decision to hire JKC. Unfortunately, this has proven to be a significant mistake, and I am left extremely disappointed with both the quality of work and the overall experience. Here are the main issues I encountered: 1. Unprofessional Behavior: The crew exhibited unacceptable behavior while working on my property. Not only did I witness them disposing of bodily fluids on-site, but they were also disrespectful and dismissive. when I raised concerns no response was received. I now smell urine when entering and exiting my garage. 2. Unresponsive Ownership: I have attempted to reach out to the owner multiple times to address these concerns and resolve the issues, but my messages have been met with silence. This lack of communication is incredibly frustrating and has only added to my disappointment. The owner refused to speak on the phone since the owner was made aware of the call being recorded. 3. Property Damage: During the construction process, my property was left damaged in multiple areas. This included e.g., landscaping destruction, equipment damage. Personal crew members vehicles being driven through my yard leaving deep tire marks damage. 4. Subpar Quality of Work: Despite the high cost of the project, the final result does not meet the standards outlined in the estimate or contract. No proper grading was completed. Every time it rains pools of water sits in front and behind the wall. The response received was. "we have passed all inspections.  There will be some water pooling while it is settling still. Plus the fact of the hard rain today, it will happen." The wall has been completed for 2 months and the same thing happens when it rain. Given the extensive problems, stress and anxiety I have faced. I do not recommend John Krause Construction.
