I had one of the most upsetting and racially charged experiences at this restaurant. I was initially excited to bring my fiancé here after discovering the place on a popular influencer's Instagram. I'd visited a few times on my own for coffee and to work, and I was really impressed by the ambiance. A few weeks later, I told my fiancé about it, and we decided to go for dinner on a Saturday night without a reservation. I anticipated that we might have to wait or sit at the bar, given it was a busy night.
To my surprise, the hostess was very accommodating and assured us we'd have a table. They told us the wait would be 15-20 minutes, but it ended up being almost an hour. I didn't mind waiting--it was a Saturday, after all. However, once we finally sat down, the service continued to disappoint. Our food took at least 45 minutes to arrive, and when it did, it was bland and tasteless, with no sauces or seasoning. When we mentioned to the server that we weren't happy with the meal, there was little to no effort to address our concerns.
The situation took an even more uncomfortable turn when it came time to pay. My fiancé paid the bill with exact cash, and the manager came over to ask how our service had been. I was about to give a polite response when she immediately turned to my fiancé, questioning why he hadn't tipped the server. When I asked who owned the restaurant, she replied, "I am the owner," and walked away. My fiancé ended up leaving a tip, but I was so upset by the interaction that I told him we would never return.
I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone, especially given the poor food and the blatant racism we experienced. It's a shame, as I had high hopes for this spot. read more
