Stopped here because I'm obsessed with any casual cafe that has dosa or thali. While the service is friendly, the menu is confusing because all of the photos online are of their thali, but no thali on the menu. To help avoid confusion, I placed my order on the self service kiosk, but there were no photos or thali listed either. So, I just ordered a plain dosa, chicken biryani, and overpriced breakfast platter. The dosa, even when made fresh, was no crispy and just soggy. We just had our third visit to Chutney Express. I like it but it seems like the food has been going downhill. First time here we had an amazing, big, and beautiful masala dosa. There is a giant banner out front telling all to "Eat More Dosa" Yep sounds, good. So I ordered a dosa and the fellow running the shop said we are out of dosa. Wut? That is why we are here. Ok so I ordered the thalis non-veg platter. It was all very good. I like the multi compartment tray. Megan had the chicken tikka masala and that was good. Our dining friends also had some combination platters that they liked. The ordering here is odd, the main touchscreen board did not seem to have all the available options. But counter ordering worked ok. I did not go to the bathroom but the three women in the group did and to say they were under impressed would be an understatement. To begin with this should be your GoTo place if you love some very good authentic South Indian food, be it Dosa, Parotta or even the most famous India Chinese starters. Food: It tasted excellent although not good on the tummy the following day. Anyways, we ordered Benne Masala Dosa, Kal Dosa, Gobi Manchurian, Parotta with Veg Curry (Malai Paneer) and Mango Lassi. They offered complimentary Rava Kesari as we felt the Gobi Manchurian was on spicier side as opposed to the Mild spice we asked for. But everything tasted so good. Malai Paneer was the best in my opinion. Surprisingly the Mango Lassi tasted amazing here and fresh compared to canned Mango Lassi's that other restaurants offer. Service & Atmosphere: We went on a Sunday night and it was empty. So we probably got the food much earlier than expected. The staffs were very friendly and extremely nice. As soon as they suspected that our food was spicy, they got us a plate of Rava Kesari. They even voluntarily replaced Veg Curry (probably it was spicy) with Malai Paneer on the sides for Parotta. Shows how much they respect and love their customers. The restaurant was well lit and was very well maintained. BOTTOMLINE: An excellent restaurant with a vast menu and unique food options. Although the food tastes excellent in every possible way, it could have probably made better as it didn't sit well with me personally. I would still want to explore other choices though. New Indian restaurant on the block. The non veg thali is ok but is very pricey(20$). Need to try other items. Ambience is good. Its cafe style, no table service. You need to pay and pick your food. Chicken curry, sweet is good. Dal had onions and full of turmeric. Sambar, I do not call it that. Rasam is spicy good but very thick. Rice pongal is customised to appease South Indian as it has green chillies in it. read more

Went on a Friday night for some chaat and pani puri and the place was empty, but the staff is really friendly and helpful. We got the all you can eat pani puri special. The bhel puri was delicious! The provided to other chaats which we weren't familiar with. The dahi puri was really good but I believe it was called masala puri we didn't particularly care for. We were so full before we decided to get pani puri, but had to experience the pani puri cart experience! I've never been to a restaurant with a pani puri cart so it was a fun change from the norm. You just let them know what you want and they serve it up one by one until you're done! Will need to go back next time the craving for Indian street food hits! read more

This is a quick service in the Indian restaurant with a casual decor, suitable for a casual meal. The expectation is that you have some experience with Indian food so that you recognize what's on the menu. We do have experience with Indian cuisine, there were a lot of unfamiliar words. The mysore masala dosa comes with four different sauces which were tasty, but fairly spicy. We are new to dosas so there seemed to be a lot of empty space in the pastry, but this might be normal. The thali was like a whole Indian buffet on one plate. Everything was delicious, but it was spicier than we expected. However this hostess was extremely kind, friendly, and offered to let us taste food choices to make sure that we could tolerate the spiciness. If you like your Indian food on the spicy side, and are interested in lots of different choices, this will be a great place for you. read more

They seem to have just opened so give them a minute. Best Gobi65 I have had. The lemon rice (chef's kiss). Butter chicken solid. Spicy potatoe dosa was good and very full! Came here really wanting some samosa chaat but they don't serve until after 5:30. BUT, everything we had was really good except the chai tea (not bad, just very bland). The cheese dosa, butter paneer, gobi Manchurian, patora, carrot and bread desserts, all were excellent! read more
