Brown sugar milk tea
Nicholas M.

It closes at 8pm. Lots of parking and a great location next to a Chinese grocery store and a Chinese restaurant. Drink: Brown Sugar Milk Tea It was good. I tasted both the brown sugar and milk tea, which blend well together. I came during closing time so the bubbles were soft and stuck together, so getting the boba up the straw was difficult because it would get stuck. Like most boba places, their prices are more than I would like at $6 for a medium. Overall would give a 7/10 for the drink 6.5 for the boba and cost

Red Bean Smoothie

This is my favorite drink there, but I think they are a little cheap now with the red beans. Pre Covid they were offering one free topping when ordering a large drink, but that deal was gone so they gave so little red bean.... On top of that there was a sign that said "only large cups left" with that type of service, it felt like they didn't really wanna do business. You take it or leave it. The staff was not very friendly in my opinion. Felt like they didn't even wanna work in there. They do have a few tables and games for people to sit down and play. But most of the jenga pieces are missing anyways. The only good thing was they having a share parking lot. The lot does get a little full tho since it's share with a supermarket and restaurant but a little walk with parking is better than none

Papaya milkshake

I've been here a few times but never left a review for them. Every time I come here I always like to order their papaya milkshake. This time it was not as good as before, but it wasn't completely bad. Still acceptable. One thing I found out is they sell bubble waffle!! Of course I have to try. Taste is not bad, pretty good, but the texture is not good enough. Texture isn't crunchy enough. Still a bit soggy overall. Hopefully they can make it more crunchy next time.

I know it is me. I have never been into, nor really understood the bubble tea phenomenon. I have tried them a few times in different places, but no matter the location nor the company, the tapioca balls are just a choking hazard, and most flavors pumped full of sugar and heavy syrups even when some real fruit/veggies are used to add extra texture. This Tbaar has occupied a tiny corner of the International Asian Market on St. Vincent Street for several years, but I never considered a visit until yesterday when the 90+ degree heat had me thinking a healthy drink would cure the dehydration that was ailing me. I should have gone with a smoothie, but chose instead to go healthy by ordering a "Ginger Fun" drink. I watched as dude behind the counter cut an apple, celery and splashed in some liquids and powders before blending. The prep was professional and promising. $8 later, I carried out their small plastic container of a pleasant light green concoction to drink on the drive from a major shopping event next door, to home. First sip - Completely unpalatable. It was a sour/bitter taste dominated by a harsh ginger bite that had me gasping and struggling not to spit it out as I drove. Normally, I love strong flavors, but this attacked my nose and sinuses immediately. Medicinal? Perhaps. Undrinkable? Beyond doubt! Literally, $8 down the drain! If there be a next time, I will be less adventurous and go for the milk teas or smoothies; drinks that won't attack like a rabid dog.

Fresh Brewed Oolong Tea with Milk
Sharon S.

A bit disappointed :( the first time I came, they ran out of boba so I ordered an oolong tea with herbal jelly. The second time I came, they ALSO ran out of boba so I ordered another oolong tea with herbal jelly. Both times, the oolong tea with milk was very diluted and I could barely taste the fresh oolong tea. It tasted mostly of milk. I may have to come back to really taste their boba and perhaps another milk tea.

Honey Aloe Green Tea (25% sugar). So fresh so fine.

Drinks are delicious. Husband and I are long time milk tea lovers and appreciate when the store is right next to a grocery store. We got the brown sugar milk tea and honey aloe milk tea. All with 25% sugar and they were so fresh, not too sweet. The brown sugar boba was perfect texture (combination of soft, chewy, and sweet). I wish I could give 5 star if judging only the taste but the overall ambiance was lacking to say the least. Boxes every where laying around with some half opened. I'd definitely come back for the tea but fair warnings if you want a nice place to sit down and chill with your friends, this is not the joint.

My go to smoothie spot in the Northeast. They have a great variety of healthy smoothies and juices. The customer service is also great as well.

Although I have frequented other Tbaar locations, this was my first time to their Philadelphia location. I was in the area, and excited to get their aloe drink which I rarely have the opportunity to have anymore. The experience here was bad from start to finish. It took almost twenty minutes after we ordered to get our drinks and the place wasn't even crowded! There were two young gentleman sitting in the corner when we came in and one person in front of us in a line. A couple more people trickled in during the time we were waiting. We didn't order anything complicated. My husband ordered the bubble coconut tea, and I ordered the lychee lime green tea. When the drinks finally came out, mine was not even drinkable. It tasted like water with old aloe in it. There was a horrible taste to the aloe. I don't know what it was, but I probably don't really want to know. It reminded of me of when I have ordered aloe many times in other Tbaar locations and it's never tasted like that. I ended up throwing it away after a few sips. It was a waste of money and plastic. My husband's coconut bubble tea just tasted like sugar. It was incredibly disappointing and a waste of money. Head to Delaware if you are craving Tbaar.

Thanks to other yelpers reviews about TBaar, me and hubby found our new favorite place in NE Philly for fresh smoothie and bubble tea. Hubby fell hard for Tbaar's Avocado Smoothie. He says it got a refreshing taste that many other places don't have. I tried the Matcha with Green Tea and Red Bean and grass jelly and watermelon milkshake( don't know why they call it a milkshake, it should be call smoothie). I fell hard for the watermelon smoothie. It got a fruity watermelon taste, not a candy watermelon taste like other places. TBAAR'S drinks deserve a whole 5 stars rating but lack of menu items pushes down to 4. Been there 2 times, one week apart, still no Matcha Crepe.

Well I just found out about this place from other Philly Yelpers checking in. It's about a half of a mile from me and I never even knew it was there. It is right in the same little shopping center off of St. Vincent Street in Mayfair. The same shopping center as the Oriental Market and China Gourmet Chinese restaurant. It's a little shop with limited seating but most orders are to go so it was easy to get a seat. They have very quick service with a great attitude and a smile. The staff was very helpful and courteous. There is plenty of parking in the huge parking lot. I got a Watermelon Lemonade and it was a little sweet but oh so delicious. It had chunks of Watermelon and Lemon slices in it and was clean and refreshing. The atmosphere was clean and organized. I will definitely be coming here a lot more often now that I know it is here.

Medium Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Tea

Pretty good bubble tea. Prices are ok, but it's conveniently located near China Gourmet, so grab some dim sum and some bubble tea. It might have been the choice of flavors I made, but I wasn't a huge fan of the tea I got when I was there (brown sugar tea). Definitely going to give it another shot.

Ice Thai tea, red bean smoothie, mango green tea

Tried this new bubble tea shop in the northeast Philly. It's right next to the supermarket. Prices are the same with other bubble tea shops in the city. I like how there's no city sugar tax even though it's still in Philly. We ordered 3 drinks; the drinks were bland and the colors looked a little off..

Mango Mango and Pineapple Smoothie!
Jason V.

I always see this place every time I leave the supermarket and decided to finally give it a try. They have a big menu for many different freshly made bubble teas, smoothies, and other drinks with lots of fresh fruit on display that is used directly for the drinks. A very clean establishment with very quick service. Took about 1 minute from placing the order to start drinking it. I tried the mango pineapple smoothie which was tangy, sweet, and very refreshing! Be careful chugging it because I almost bled out from my brain freeze but it was delicious! I'll be more adventurous with the drink selection next time. Maybe get some of those tapioca balls in my belly.
