4 stars purely for the dancers and the musicians. Great show and entertainment, can't say the same for the food though. We visited during our last night in Dublin.  Whisky were waiting at our table, I picked the turkey and hubby picked the Guinness stew.  It also comes with salad or soup.  All the bread that comes with meals in Dublin is the terrible dry soda bread so there's no choice.  Dessert was also terrible, not sure how you can mess that up.  Irish coffee at the end was water down. I know it's a mass produced factory in the kitchen to serve hundreds of customers at the same time, but just being realistic here. The entertainment took an hour-ish after we were seated before it start so there was a bit of waiting. But when it finally did start it was amazing. Love the river dancing, but the fantastic live band is what stood out and made the night. They really brought the house down and and got everyone on their feet. I got picked randomly to try to demonstrate the Bodhran drum, it was hilarious.

This was a very fun time experiencing a very interactive celebration of Irish dance, music and comedy. The food was as expected for a large venue and exceeded minimal expectation. The service was done with a smile and those servers hustled The no one was disappointed with the meal , dessert, free whiskey and show. I would warn people not to be overly critical of the show and enjoy it for all its patina and the Catskillesque desire to please all.. Slainte

They served us a drink and dinner first: starter - soup or salad, choice of 4 entrees, dessert and Irish Coffee. Then the show began- about 90 minutes of excellent Irish entertainment! Definitely recommend.

This is a review for the dinner show. The show wasn't very good unless you enjoy cruise ship style shows. There's dancing and music and attempts at including the audience. I will say the show seems to cater to bus tours as the largest groups are seated closest to the stage and individual parties are towards the back. I was located behind a large pillar but was told I could move around. The food for the show was lackluster but I assume this is because of the large number of plates they needed to cater. I got the salmon with mash and potatoes which was so so. The soup appetizer was just ok as well. For dessert you got a bit of cake and an Irish coffee. No non alcoholic option for this as we were told these were pre made. You get one drink with the dinner-alcohol or otherwise and then it's a cash bar afterwards. The bread was plastic wrapped and very dry. I would come back to try their regular dinner options but not for the show. I do want to mention I overheard many very happy patrons for the show so if you're curious do give it a try but I personally did not enjoy it.

Great food! We came as part of our tour through Ireland with a company and we are so thankful! The dancers & live Irish music made the great meal an even better experience. While here we learned that Ireland doesn't have ranch... luckily I like blue cheese with my wings! Also while here I learned Rocket sauce is way too spicy for me, as it was in my pasta dish and I couldn't eat it. But the service was great and they ordered to make me anything else as a replacement. The service and entertainment was top notch, and food was great too!

True Irish entertainment! So much fun! Take the quick 20 minute taxi ride. Totally worth it! Food was good, service was top notch. Shout out to Ryan for helping me after I fell out of the taxi (no not drunk...got tangled in part of a rubber thing that closes the van door). Definitely a must do!

We finished our stay in Dublin with a dinner show here! The food was great, big portions and the show was super funny and amazing! Tons of energy and we loved the show. If we come back to Dublin, we'll do the show again for sure, highly recommended!

We were on a school tour trip. Employees seemed annoyed. Given three through litter drinks for a group of 20 plus. No ice. No refills.

By the time we reached this place, we felt we earned every drink and nibble of food. By the time we ventured here, it was my 7th day of driving on the "correct" side of the road for the first time in my life, so the route here was certainly the final boss which required all my driving skills and full focus. The food was delicious and felt like something home cooked by your grandparents. Although I get the impression from locals that this is kind of a touristy place, I did not get that vibe from the atmosphere here. There were people from out of town asking about the dancing show, which is in a separate room and you need to purchase tickets for this in advance. The service here is what you would expect from Europeans: friendly, but slow. They seem to want to make you feel welcome to stay and not rushed out the door. I always feel awkward having to ask for the check, but I am getting better at it Overall, the experience was just what we were looking for: something warm and cozy after a week of dreary, cold Irish weather overlaid on top of our 12+ hour workdays. The table we sat next to were some local roofers who had far more difficult and dangerous jobs than we did, so we ended up leaving this place with a sense of gratitude for our jobs. Energized and refreshed from the long journey, we plowed through the rain and mist back down the mountain to our hotel in Dublin. The main roads here are far easier to traverse than the backroads.

Menu has a good selection of Irish dishes from seafood chowder up to lamb stew and pies. We ordered the potato soup, seafood chowder, 'banjo' burger with onion rings. The soups arrived first and the seafood chowder was loaded with huge pieces of fish, potatoes (not many) with a creamy rich base. Flavor was incredible and in itself a full meal. Served in a large crock style bowl. The potato soup was minus any whole potatoes. It was a rich creamy base with plenty of flavor and very hearty. The burger was really a double cheeseburger with plenty of cheese, grilled onions, what appeared to be a mayonnaise based sauce on a soft hamburger roll. Really tall enough that it was tough getting your mouth around it. Very well seasoned burgers and the onions were a nice touch. The onion rings were huge and had a very light batter on them. They served in a metal bowl to keep them hot. For dessert the apple crumble was ordered which was served in a large dish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This could have been warmer but still was good.. The 5 star rating is for the chowder as it outshone the rest of the meal although the burger was definitely a close second. Definitely will return to try other dishes when we come back to the city.

The meat and veggies were plentiful, the portion generous, and it was tasty enough but maybe on the bland side? It was served with a side of braised red cabbage which we really liked: sweet but not sour like pickled cabbage. And house-made brown stout bread, also very good. The wife had a Guinness and I, thinking it too cliché to order Guinness as a tourist in Ireland, tried a different stout whose name I've forgotten from the ample selection. But comparing the two, so much better! The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Irish dishes, more than most of the similar pubs in the area. As well as the other expected pub type food: sandwiches, burgers, etc. As for desserts, if we were hungrier, the wife might have ordered the Irish Whiskey Bread & Butter Pudding. The hubby would probably get his dessert later, as the selection was limited and neither that nor the Apple Crumble appealed. Sitting at the bar we had a more personalized experience than were we at a table. The bartender offered to take a photo of me behind the bar which I of course accepted. We made the right choice in coming here.

On Rathgar Avenue, just off the Harold's Cross Road, it's a spot I had never actually seen before so I wasn't sure what to expect of it. I was pleasantly surprised. Their website states the restaurant "embodies the conviviality of old New York" and I completely agree. The exterior is like so many neighbourhood restaurants you see on the tree lined streets in NYC, if you've ever stumbled across the Elephant & Castle in Manhattan you will know what I mean. Inside you get the same feel, tiled walls, dark wood, a casual and comfortable vibe... with a bit of class too. I especially liked the light seating area at the back. We stuck to the midweek Wine & Dine deal of €20 for 2 courses or €25 for 3. A decent selection of starters with 2 veggie options, some fish and meat choices. Similarly with mains, a choice of burgers, fish and meat options and a veggie pasta dish. It's always nice to actually have a choice of non meat dishes instead of having the only one available! As it happens we both went for the vegetarian options to start, the B & B Super Salad of spinach, pomegranate, feta & quinoa and the Soup of the Day which was Broccoli. That salad - absolutely fab! It was bursting with flavour from the pomegranate seeds and feta...If every salad were as tasty and good for you I would have no problem eating them all day every day :-) The generous serving of soup was delicious and served with crusty fresh bread. (Apologies for the messy pic, we sploshed it around a bit before I got a snap of it looking all neat and pretty!) For mains there was the much anticipated Mexican Bean Veggie Burger and the Indian Pale Ale Battered Fish & Chips. Again, very generous portions especially for an Early Bird - and neither main disappointed. Being someone who barely ever leaves food on her plate (awful habit I know!) I had to leave half my chips just so I could polish off every bite of the burger, smothered in guac.... amazing! Packed full of beans and veg and with some seeds thrown in for good measure, it was definitely the best (and biggest) veggie burger I've had. There was absolutely no room for dessert - but the Honeycomb & Toblerone Cheesecake has my name all over it for my next visit! I did fit in a lovely cappuccino before rolling out of the place though :-) This is a seriously great value for money deal - fantastic food, and lots of it, in really nice surrounds. Thursday is clearly the night to visit, when groups of 4 get a free bottle of vino...and I've heard only amazing reviews on their chicken wings - treat yo'self! :-)
