The pitstop was full of bipedal beings (humans) and their animal counterparts (pets) so I figured that I might as well let my four legged daughter (puppy) out to explore their animal cage with grass (dog park) We had just had a 4 day rain storm that flew into town and caused a couple fatalities with flash floods. Needless to say I was surprised to see a LAKE (overflow reservoir) at the pitstop. My daughter wanted to go play in the water. Even though it was cold outside! She had a blast!! It was the first time she has ever seen a lake! It was great fun! Elation ran through us like a lightening bolt!

Stopped by after exploring the park and picked up some souvenirs and some soft serve ice cream. They have towels and water shoes here if you're planning on getting in the water. They also have plenty of snacks if you're hungry. I would definitely recommend the soft serve ice cream, especially on a warm day. It's so satisfying and it definitely hits the spot. The cashiers are really nice and helpful. There's a $10 card minimum but it's pretty easy to spend more than $10 here. I picked up a few refrigerator magnets while I was here and they look really nice on my fridge (I collect these). For a smaller state park, it's nice that Slide Rock has such a convenient little market like this.
