On Our night of service, our $120 steak cooked to mid-rare temp, the cooking process obviously provided a great sear on the first side sear in the iron pan. But once they flip it without finding the hotspot, to another searing hot area, Our steak then only gets steamed from the bottom. Crispy presentation side but beef stew brim watery bottom side. So a lack of care for the quality of meats and poor trading and quality control to send out steamed/stewey cuts on the bottom side. I really don't understand all the hype on this restaurant . It is not worth the 1abd a half drive from little rock . We drove 176 mi round trip in a hellish thunderstorm to try this touted restaurant . You have to make reservations . We were celebrating so we thought why not? Well why do people recommend thia place? Our so called dry aged 66 day old steak $79.00 was not butter tender but a bit chewy and lacked seasoning . If it had not been for the au jus i could not have eaten it . The waitress was not very attentive and when our glasses needed filling we had to wave her over and flys were every where . One even committed suicide in my Au Jus when i was half way through we had to ask for a plate to transfer my food and no offer of remake was offered . The potato was baked golden delicious but not very hot . The atmosphere was dirty the ambiance was common and loud babies were abundant . It's not romantic or lending to a quiet peaceful space for dining . Our reservation was for 7:30 we arrived at 7 seated at 7:15 and the waitress returned to take our order at 7:45 . Our steak was brought at 8:30 and we left at 9:15 . Did i mention there is no comfortably tepid spot to sit anywhere you sit . you have frigid air blasting your food and you the entire meal . my husband had to go to the car for a blanket it was so unpleasant . I really wanted this to be a nice night with my husband but I'm disappointed and feel disgusted by the flues and feel cheated it came so highly recommended and the steak was no where near the quality to quantify the price they charge . I would recommend Mikes place for flavor in Conway a better flavor and a better price . Let me start by saying that I'm a real steak snob. I won't order steaks most places because I can cook them better. So, when I say Taylor Steakhouse has an excellent steak, don't take it lightly. I had heard of this restaurant on some food blogs here is Arkansas. Reading so much about it, I finally had a chance to stop in on our way to Gulf Shores. It was totally worth the stop. They took reservations which is almost worth five starts right there. I hate waiting for a table. The service was awesome and the steaks were killer. The sides were excellent as well. Ordered the dry aged bone in rib-eye. Probably the best steak we've ever had! Split with wife. Side was Cajun rice. Too salty. Service was excellent. Very disappointed. I was shocked at the prices. First, I want to say that our server was very nice and the girls who checked on the tables were sweet. We had to wait nearly 45 minutes for our meal to come out. Someone came by and told us our order was on the grill after about 30 minutes of waiting. When the food came, I was surprised at the quality. The steaks were not seasoned at all. The au gratin potatoes were disappointing with cheese sprinkled on top of them in a bowl. The "loaded" baked potato was not even done and the toppings were all on the side. Lastly, the bread pudding was terrible! I don't know what the rum sauce was they were talking about, because it wasn't rum sauce. It was more like melted whip cream. Terrible! Oh, and the prices are ridiculous. Wow, just wow. Not a place you are going to be driving by, so word of mouth is how I heard of it. 12 of us rented a van and went and the reviews all around were best steaks they had ever had. Wife and I had the Porterhouse for two and the flavor was really hard to describe. This is a drive there from anywhere restaurant. Make plans and go! Little out of the way for most folks but a favorite destination for locals. Go early or make reservations before you go as they are packed every night. You have got to try the cheese dip for an appetizer!! Many steak options including both dry- and wet-aged beef. Steaks are cooked to perfection and are exactly as described in the color graphics listed at each table. Have a decent seafood offering for being so off the beaten path. Cheese dip was good tonight - had bone in ribeye that was dry aged and a prime cut - hubby had filet - the big boy had shrimp pasta- everyone enjoyed their meal! Big boy had bread pudding which he said was good! Unfortunately we eat at Does on a fairly regular basis and the steak at Does is just plain BETTER all around! I cannot comment on their steak, but the fact that a southeast Arkansas steakhouse is this California vegetarian's favorite restaurant speaks volumes I think! I know of no other place I can go to find homemade food except my or a friend's kitchen. My dinner at Taylor's is comprised of a variety of dishes... asparagus, hush puppies, potatoes au gratin, creamed spinach, zucchini and pam makes the best bread pudding ever! They also have a good beer selection including Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and a nice baguette bread and butter to munch on before dinner comes. The owners, Pam and Chuck, are Pam will make you feel at home. I make sure I get out there a couple times a year since my cravings won't let me go longer than that. read more
