I don't know how this place is still in business. The typos on the menu should've been my first big warning. If they don't care enough to proof read a menu, why would they care about food? The chips and salsa were average. Not great but crispy at least. I ordered the Cancun salad. The menu said it had romaine lettuce but it really the wilted shredded iceberg that they use for tacos. It said cucumbers but those were missing. The onion was huge slices of raw white onion and there were three slices of green bell peppers. It was served without dressing. I was offered ranch. I asked if there was anything else and told no. So I used the ranch flavored water from a squeeze bottle as a dressing. I've never had such a lazy $15 salad before. My family decided to go into your restaurant tonight and was disrespected by staff and management. They are in town for a funeral and are already going through a lot. To get ice Tea that tastes like tap water and get rushed while ordering because it's a big party is not okay. Everyone should be treated equally no matter how big the party is. To already be in town for a funeral and then want to get some food and be treated like that is unacceptable. Please do better on your customer service and how you treat all people.But I am very disappointed how they were treated. Please improve on customer service and teaching servers how to be polite as well as all staff. Hope to see improvements going further. read more

We had lunch here after an event at the local high school. Apparently everyone had the same idea because it was packed. Our server practically handled the entire room by himself. Thankfully our table was one of the first that ordered lol. A couple items were missing from our order. We had to wait for the spinach dip and I ended up canceling the missing item from my build your own platter (which was fine because I was full). Everything looked great and tasted pretty good overall. My margarita was excellent! The guacamole was amazing and very different from what I'm accustomed to. I'd return for the guacamole alone! The taco was basic and a letdown, but could have been great if they dressed it up more. The highlight of my meal was the chicken quesadilla, which looked nothing like I expected but was very delicious. This was my first visit but other guests said the food is usually better when there aren't so many people. I look forward to returning during a less busy time. read more

If I could review this place for ZERO stars I would!! Me and an accomplice ate there and long after got food poisoning! I got home and was extremely light headed and dizzy and had immense stomach pain. While my accomplice on the other hand actually projectile vomited and was in overwhelming pain. I would advise you to not eat there and choose another restaurant in town. No hate to some of the people that work there but right now it's 100% hatred. If I wasn't so nice I would call corporate. El Toro had been for many years a preferred place to stop and eat when my late husband and I were traveling between Little Rock and his parents' place in Mississippi. Even after we retired to Mississippi and he had died, I still liked to stop there for lunch when I drove to Little Rock. That changed when they remodeled the place recently. The food is still just as good, and the new dining room decor is lovely. The ladies' bathroom, though, is NOT friendly to someone who now uses a Rollator, and would be downright hostile to anyone using a wheelchair. The so-called Accessible stall DOES have a wider door, and grab bars, but inside the stall my knees were only about 5 inches from the front wall, and the toilet paper dispenser is now on the side wall across from the commode, not on the wall next to the commode. My Rollator just barely fit into the space between the commode and the dispenser, and I could barely reach the dangling paper when I was ready for that. Anyone using a wheelchair trying to use this stall would literally be up that unsanitary creek with no paddle. I don't think a wheelchair will FIT into the space, and there is certainly no space for an aide to assist with moving between the chair and the commode. I will miss their food, but I've got to stop eating there. read more

Well I most certainly agree with the review by Jonathan C.....if this establishment were in a bigger city it would only get 3 stars but since it is in Dumas I can give it 4. Let me start by saying since I am VEGAN coming to Dumas to visit........I knew there wouldn't be much for me to eat. However I did know there was a Mexican and Chinese food restaurant in town so I decided to give it a try because after all what choices did I have......LOL. The hostess at the front was kind enough to let me look at menu since they don't have take out menus (they probably should look into getting those) and she took my order for takeout once I decided what I wanted. What did I have you ask? Well I kept it simple.....I ordered a Bean Burrito and a Rice/Beans plate which was around about 7 bucks. The Burrito was not much to be desired but the Rice and Beans were very good. They gave me chips and salsa on the house and while they were not terrible they were nothing to write home about either. So all in all I got a pretty decent meal for a pretty decent price.....again what choices did I really have? The establishment is clean with ample parking (not very much though) and the service I received was very good. I would recommend this establishment to Vegans for sure....especially if your hungry and in a pinch as to where to go and eat. Eat, Drink, and be Merry my Friends!!!!! read more

I lived in Mexico, s really like good Mexican food. I had a Chile Relleno and it was made right! Also an enchilada and was able to substitute lettuce for rice. My husband had a tamale and street tacos- all different and all generous sizes and tasty! read more

Food was good but there wasn't enough staffing. Chimichanga deluxe was amazing! Tortilla soup was a little odd it had big chunks carrots and big chunks broccoli in it and like whole avocado sliced on top. The broth was delicious!! But the chips and salsa left something to be desired. When we asked about dessert the waiter look at like he wasn't sure what it was. So needless to say we left with out dessert. read more

Terrible experience. We were stopping at a restaurant nearby when my boyfriend spotted this place. I've been on a Mexican food craze. So we decided on this place. After being seated by the hostess i was then approached by the waitress with salsa and chips. My boyfriend excused himself to the restroom as i was being seated. She proceeded to ask me for my drink order. I wasn't sure of what he wanted so i mentioned that to her thinking maybe she'd like to come back when he came. She then asked "what do YOU want to drink?" in a snotty way. I let it go. As she walked away he returned, so i quickly added his drink to the order. She then asked if we were ready to order or if we needed more time. He asked her for her opinion on a few menu options and she gave short/snotty answers. She was totally unprofessional and unfriendly. After she replied to him in that manner my first thought was to leave. Had he had not dug straight into the salsa upon sitting we would have done just that. She ruined the entire experience. The food was pretty decent, but in my opinion it's not worth the poor hospitality. We won't be back. I can easily find better food and service. It's a NO for me. read more

This place has been closed for about 18 months going thru a remodel (still working on it in August 2014). There is not that many choices to choose from in the town of Dumas, so the anticipation of this place reopening is very HIGH. read more
