Second, what he states below is completely different from both what his staff said over the phone and not at all what he shared with me when we spoke. He was adamant that they needed to charge all fees up front. He reiterated numerous times that he wasn't a benefits expert but he has advisors and staff he trusts to understand it better. So when I shared that I am well versed on insurance benefits, both as a patient and a plan administer for my own company, I thought he might actually take interest in learning about how unethical it is to charge a patient twice. Instead he repeatedly spoke over me and told me that - while he himself wasn't knowledgeable on insurance, clearly I must still be wrong. Now he's writing that they only do this in some cases (no insurance or out of network), but all the sudden he's now saying that they only charge an estimate when the are in network - first time that's being said. This person continually spoke over me and let his ego drive the conversation. I hung up when it was clear that he had zero respect for me or the time I offered after he asked to speak to me. In no world is this someone I would trust with the health of my jaw or ever being under anesthesia. To purposely call someone to deride them when you have no real knowledge is its own ethical issue. Get your business in order, sir. First, it took three calls and two voicemails to even hear from anyone. Second, the billing practices are completely unethical - they bill you up front for all services AND then bill your insurance. They claim they'll reimburse you whatever insurance decides to pay. It's beyond unethical. Finally, their front office is wildly unhelpful. Not only do they not return calls, but they can't answer basic questions like how much a consultation costs. Between ethics violations, insurance fraud and incompetent administration, I'm not sure how they got so many 5 star reviews without paying for them (insanely common for dentists and plumbers on Yelp).

She has a gift for communication -- she explained everything thoroughly so I always felt informed, while at the same time shielding me from unnecessary worry during the procedure. She talked me through the entire procedure in such a calm and reassuring way that I felt comfortable the whole time. Her assistant was equally wonderful -- so kind, attentive, and supportive throughout the process. Together, they made me feel genuinely cared for as a patient, not just another appointment. Sometimes it feels rare to find a doctor/dentist who has great technical skill and offers such compassion, and I feel truly grateful to have been in her care. I had to see him several times and each visit was short and quick to the point. He placed the bone graft with ease. Once it's time, I will see my usual dentist for the implant. I would highly recommend Dr. Nakashyan. He was patient and very professional. Nice touch of calling the patient that same evening after the procedure. My usual dentist does that as well. It seems they charge based on a projected fee covered by insurance. This is a minor inconvenience. This tooth had already gone through two root canals, and another dentist recommended replacing the crown. Instead, Dr. Dino resolved the infection with an antibiotic gum injection, followed by dental hygiene care two weeks later. Now it's May, and my tooth feels healthy and fresh again. No more odor, no more infection, and he saved my crown. The hygienist, Kimberly. Her excellent care truly enhanced the results of Dr. Dino's treatment. For someone reason I had a $400 copay and after still got billed $40. When I asked for a price break down, the front desk lady just said "it's a copay." Not helpful at all. Anyways, fast forward to my procedure day, Dr. Mizin couldn't find my vein and dug into my arm, shrugged, and just said oh let me try again. It was a cold response. He did not warn me that he would cut the muscles in my mouth. I found out two weeks after at my post op. I couldn't open my mouth bigger then 1/2 inch. He put his fingers in my mouth to force it open. I said it was painful and to stop. A month later and I can now open my mouth normally, but have excruciating headaches. Would not recommend.
