I would absolutely NOT recommend Speedy Patch Drywall Repair for anything except a 3-inch wall…read morepatch. We needed the drywall replaced in a full bathroom with angled and coved ceilings. All the weird little things about older homes we discussed at the time of the quote. The job was quoted at a day and a half and began on a Thursday. Mike arrived day 1 and admitted he was unfamiliar with our type of wall (gypsum board) and ceiling design. He struggled with the demolition (tile, gypsum, and steel lathe) and admitted to not knowing how to hang drywall in this space due to the angled framing. At the end of the first day, he left about 20 of bags of debris on our tree lawn. Ten minutes after Mike left, we got a call from Shane, the general manager. He stated that they could not finish the job and we would need to hire another company. He claimed Mike was a great finisher, but not a framer. He only backpedaled when I asked what we were supposed to do without walls, as our bathroom was now open to the attic and I would be returning to work in 10 days. Mike had done 90% of the demolition, so there was no going back. We discussed options, and he agreed Mike would return in the morning. Mike returned and completed the demolition. After discussing adding some cross-members between studs, he added some chunks of 2x4 side by side to stack out a cross-member horizontally, rather than adding in a horizontal 2x4. He later told us that someone else would be back Monday to help and left the remaining bags of debris on the tree lawn. On Saturday we loaded our truck and hauled away the garbage ourselves, despite disposal being included in the contract. On Monday, Shane (the GM) arrived to complete framing and hang the drywall sheets. He assured us the gaps he left would be filled during finishing. On Tuesday, Christian (the owner) and Miguel (a trainee) arrived to mud/tape/finish the walls. Most of the seams where the walls and/or ceiling meet are fine. He told us we will need to add trim along all of the shower edges to cover the gaps left. There are several uneven spots, visible joint tape, and trowel marks that will need touching up and sanding before painting. There are a LOT of places in which the joint compound was left to drip: on the walls, on the floor, in the shower, over the outlets, on the window and sill... All of those will need to be cleaned up. There is a large triangular chunk of drywall missing under one plumbing access panel. A large piece will need to be cut out and replaced. The gaps needing "trim" to cover vary in size from a few millimeters to a full inch in several places - I doubt I can adequately cover them with trim. Many of the issues could have been solved at the time of install by correct measurements (one ceiling panel is nearly 2 inches too narrow for the space at the bottom), using the straight edge of the drywall sheet to abut problematic existing straight edges, or cutting a new piece when it was clear the uneven cuts would be unusable. We are now left to problem solve ways in which to fill and cover the gaps and seamlessly join them to the existing walls, which is the part of the job I wished to avoid in the first place. At the end of the fourth day, I paid in full just to get them out of my house and try to start problem solving. It was evident to me they would only have more excuses, and had no desire to help us actually finish the room they were hired to finish. Additionally, the unprofessionalism in communication was concerning. My husband was added to a group chat among staff sharing other client information including names, addresses, phone numbers, and photos of the homes. In this chat, one of the people texting referred to clients or coworkers as "bi+ch @ss crackers". When we had a scheduling issue and needed to postpone our work for a week, we tried calling 3 different times, left 2 messages with the answering service, and sent a text to the scheduler, only to have Mike show up on the originally scheduled day.

So much so, that I was able to oversize the garage a bit for an additional cost. The whole project from beginning to end went flawless! All crews...concrete team, block layers, framers, siding crew, garage door installer, the electrician...all were on schedule, very friendly, paid attention to the details, and the cleanup was much appreciated! His company took care of all the inspections and paperwork that needed to be approved by the city of Columbus. All of this gave me assurance to his commitment to this garage. The communication with Josh and his team was remarkable. If I had a concern and texted them or left a voice mail...the response back was almost immediate! I could tell right from the get-go, Josh and his team really had an investment into the satisfaction with our project. They had solutions and suggestions that kept the project on schedule. I'm a tough customer, and they nailed it! From beginning to end, I was convinced I had made the correct decision to go with Jewell and I'm so happy with our new garage. I really see it as a sound investment into the value of our property. I personally recommend Jewell Building Company for all they have done for me! Andrew Banks

I can say with confidence you never have to worry about those issues with Jewell. Eddie and his team were reliable, hard-working and...ON TIME! They completed our garage demo and build within the projected timeline and held the line on the budget. They worked clean (I.e. left no trash behind) and were awesome communicators and just generally nice people. I had an unforeseen electrical issue come up during our project (nobody's fault, just an issue with having an old home) and his team fixed it for me gratis. My favorite part of the whole thing is that two women helped build our garage. In a male-dominated industry, that spoke volumes to me. Is Jewell the cheapest? No, but you get what you pay for. We wanted quality work done on time by seasoned professionals so that's exactly what we got.

Although I only hired him to do one of the three rooms, his company did such an excellent job that I will hire him to do the other work when I am ready. The house had insulation blown in 14 years ago, and there are indentations in all of the walls where this was done. Unlike a previous painter I hired to refresh other rooms, Bryan's painters sanded/filled in-not an expert so I don't know the right term, but the indentations are no longer visible. The room he painted had been charcoal and white for 50+ years and was very dark. Now, it is very bright and refreshing. His workers were professional and efficient and finished the job within the time frame they'd estimated. I highly recommend Bryan for your paint projects.

Gaddis was very professional, they were quick but provided good quality work and cleaned up the space afterwards. They also were always on time and completed the driveway in the time promised. And most importantly we are very pleased with our driveway, it looks great and we no longer have standing water! Gaddis also always returned our phone calls and emails within a business day.
