The apartments themselves are well-maintained with great finishes, and the amenities, like the pools and gym, are actually worth using. Plus, the staff and maintenance crew are always on top of things and easy to work with. It's a solid, well-run community and definitely worth a look if you're moving to the area!

We scheduled a tour for 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, 14 June and was genuinely excited about making Fairmont Museum District our next home. Five minutes before the appointment, the leasing rep called to say an earlier visitor had arrived late (30 mins late) and asked us to wait "about 15 minutes" in the lobby. We agreed and arrived promptly. Unfortunately, after waiting until 4:15 p.m.--with no sign of the rep and no response to our call--I had to leave. The representative called back roughly at 4:30 p.m. with an apology, but by then our afternoon plans were disrupted and the opportunity to see the community was gone. I emailed management that evening to explain what happened and to give them a chance to address the issue. More than a week later, I have received no reply whatsoever. The combination of: -poor appointment prioritization (on-time visitors were bumped for someone who was 30 minutes late), -lack of real-time updates while I waited, and -complete radio silence after I submitted a detailed complaint speaks volumes about the property's customer service. If this is how prospective residents are treated, I can only imagine how existing tenants fare when something goes wrong. I ended up looking elsewhere. Disappointing experience all around.

We toured extensively and even spend the night with our friends that live here. Didn't work out. It's because of what happened with our friends about 2 weeks later, won't be too specific so as not to get any individuals who work for this building or our friends, in trouble. It was a huge melodrama mainly around money, which I tried to help resolve, and directly due to that, we ended up not moving in here. I don't want to get accused of defamation or get into an argument like some of the other people who wrote bad reviews did, but I will say that the good reviews don't seem very legitimate. It's still an absolutely beautiful place which is white made it to our top 5 but I do have issues with the company and the fees they charge. I'd have at least given 3 stars for the amazing luxuriousness here but knowing that hostile responses can be easily forthcoming from this company, I'll pre-empt that by taking off another star. Shady.

However, I've had problems with my downstairs neighbors since the day I've moved in and the management team has condoned their atrocious behavior; I'm sick of paying money to let them all gang up on me. I cannot wait to move out. The way the rules are written allow my neighbors to have a say in what I do at any hour of the day. This past week, the manager called me for working out in my apartment at noon on a Friday. He told me that any excessive noise is warranted of a call (I was placing my weights on the floor between lifting sets- no jumping, no throwing, etc) Since the gym has been closed since March, the solution offered to me was to carry all my equipment OUTSIDE IN THE TEXAS SUMMER and get my workout in outside. I've had a police officer to show up at my door because of music or my tv. If you know me, you know I'm no afeel targeted and harassed. It's honestly a shame since these people will drive away other tenants. You've got lots of options in Houston- pick elsewhere. Our neighbors have since moved out, however I still wouldn't recommend living here. We lose water, power or wifi at least once a month related to a "block outage." The elevators go down often. Aside from location, I can't see a reason to pick here over many other locations.

Even though there is alot of new construction nearby, all simular rental units, with comparable prices, we decided to stay here. 2023 moving is expensive, it's 100 degrees outside, and inflation is high on renewals, and don't want to deal with that. Our lease renewal rate was reasonable, so we decided to stay. I see very outdated ratings on Stonewood, which are irrelevant, in my opinion. Here's what I think. I find the apartments as quiet, clean, and a decent basic place to live in the city. Maintenance is great & responds quickly. The property, for it's age, is in pretty good shape, units interior is small, basic, no granite, painted beige and white, basic black appliances, overall in and outside of property is fine. The porter picks up trash, and regulary empties the dog poo cans. YEAH! I like being around responsible pet parents, which is a big deal to me. Nobody wants to smell 100+ degrees of poo! Stonewood's maintenance guys keep that cleaned up and tidy. Lawn service is regular, and does good job keeping the property groomed. The sprinklers come on regularly, and that keeps the plantings lush. The courtyard is pretty, and quite clean. The pool is small, and has needed some serious TLC, and apparently they are still struggling getting the pool properly repaired, cleaned, and properly serviced. That pool issue is reflective in my star rating above. The pool is the most important amenity to me. I will keep complaining, and the PM will eventually fix it. I would say the pool furniture needs some TLC, as well, mainly getting the webbing replaced. The Amazon boxes are great and I really appreciate that my orders are secured. The mailbox room is locked and gated, another secured area. We do have gate access, which is great. The apartments do not have security cameras, and just like in any place in Houston or metro city, you gotta lock, secure, and put your stuff out of sight, and be aware of what's around you. The gym is small, basic, but it free, and if its raining, the gym is fine. My neighbors, that do chat with me, are nice and I have enjoyed conversations around the pool or when they walked their pets. My neighbors above are pretty quiet, and work & sleep same hours that I do, so I am so grateful for that. It's really quiet at night. Once in a while I hear the train next door, but it's nothing unsettling. Bonus is location, close to fun stuff, food, bars, downtown. Commuting location wise is great, as you have a few different freeways to jump on/off, very close by, and that is worth every $. Bayou trail is across the street, bike or walk, and Memorial Park is a really close drive or bike. Overall, I enjoy living here.

The views were gorgeous and the room was very comfortable with plenty of seating for about 45 people. They had setups for food and drinks and we really enjoyed the facility. My $600 bike was stolen--while locked--from the bike rack inside a locked parking garage that supposedly has 24-hour security. I've asked multiple times for the security footage and have been completely ignored. They won't show it to me and they've done nothing to make it right. Instead, they spent thousands of dollars installing a cage around the bike racks after my bike was stolen, clearly acknowledging there's a problem--but they've never offered to compensate me or even acknowledge that my bike being stolen matters. On top of that, my unit used to be the show unit, so random people constantly steal my assigned parking spot. I've been understanding and haven't towed anyone, but when I park in a different spot that doesn't block anyone, they threaten to ticket me. Meanwhile, I've had five Amazon packages stolen, and after six months I still don't have access to an Amazon locker. It seems like they only enforce rules when it's convenient for them, not when it comes to actually protecting residents or their property. If I'm paying premium rent, I expect more than silence and inaction when my things are stolen inside what's supposed to be a secure facility. I didn't move here to worry about everything I own getting stolen while management shrugs.

Tires and other parts are also stolen off of vehicles in the parking garage. There is one security person, and there have been 3-4 different ones, and they all just spend the night on their cell phones, not paying attention to anything going on! Many of these thefts could've been prevented if they were doing their job! The building always stinks of marijuana, cigarette smoke, garbage, dog urine and excrement!! The cleaning staff just spray very potent fragrances around the hallways and elevators that sting your nose and eyes just to give the "appearance" that it smells clean when it's really not! I've caught them many times just spraying aerosol crap into the air! On top of that, many complaints are not taken seriously or dealt with. They tell you they handled an issue or spoke to another tenant about something when they never actually did. The building is old and the walls, floors and ceilings are thin and not insulated, so you hear every noise from the tenants on either side of you or above or below, especially washing machines and dryers that are ancient, along with other outdated filthy appliances. I had to buy my own showerhead because they had a cheap plastic piece of crap showerhead that water just trickled out of. The dishwasher is so old and so loud that you have to turn the volume up to the highest it can go on your TV or music in order to hear it or turn it on when you know you're going to be out for an hour or so so you don't have to listen to it. No matter where you live in the building, you can also hear vehicles going in and out of the parking garage at all hours of the day and night. Outside on the grounds of the apartment, there is garbage everywhere! I've never seen so much litter in my life, not even in New York City! There are also many homeless people living just around the corner under the highway (I-10). Some of them are harmless, but others are violent and carry knives and try to approach you if you're walking ,even with other people around! Not safe! High crime!! Filthy!!! Noisy!!!! Renting here was the biggest mistake of my life! Don't you make the same mistake!!!
