I lived at Post Oak Park Apartments, phase I, for 4 years, and only moved because I moved to a new city. First I lived in a one bedroom, then I moved to a two bed, one bath overlooking the pool. I'll start with the actual apartment and grounds. I think because this complex was built a while ago, the units are much more sound proof than new construction complexes. Units have been undergoing renovations the last several years to include new kitchen and bathroom cabinets, granite countertops, excellent stainless steel kitchen appliances and front load washer/dryer. Management allowed me to pick paint colors prior to move in, I just had to buy the paint. Otherwise it's the standard off white. Later down the road they let me paint my bedroom and bath an aqua blue. Floor plans aren't typical, and what's great is a lot of the units are arranged so that two of the same floor plans aren't side by side; my 2-1 was next to a one bedroom and my closet was next to the neighbor's bedroom, which also helps with noise control. The property has very lush and well manicured landscaping. There are small ponds throughout as well. All this creates a very serene and peaceful environment right in the middle of the big city. For those that live on the park side, I would imagine it's equally as nice and peaceful. The management team is excellent. Most of them have worked there for many years. To say they are accommodating would be a huge understatement. Their goal is to make POPA your home, not just some temporary place to live. There are residents that have lived there 10+ years, many 15 or more. The core maintenance team has been there from the start, I believe. IMO one of the things that makes a big difference is this complex is owned and managed by a smaller company, relatively speaking, so you get a real personal touch versus a complex run by a huge corporation where you're just a number and a rent check. If you are looking for party central, this is not the place for you. It's generally very quiet, tenants are mostly professional, and age ranges from 20 something to 70+. I overlooked the pool and while it gets used all the time, it's pretty low key... Which I loved!! I will say if traffic really bothers you, don't move to the Galleria/Uptown area. You won't be able to avoid it at all. This has nothing to do with this apartment complex though, it's just the way it is in the area. I LOVED living at Post Oak Park Apartments. I definitely will miss living there!

The gate closed on my car & they are being very difficult - i'm having to take legal action

Update 5/5: It's been 1 week since the alarms went off so many times that the fire department told us they wouldn't respond anymore & the management company won't provide an update on whether or not they are fixing the system I've lived in this apartment for 6 months - they did not disclose to me that they have a faulty fire alarm system. It went off 6 times last night alone. The Fire Dept has said they will no longer respond. The management is putting its residents at risk of bodily harm by not fixing this problem. As a matter of fact, Chris the property manager laughingly told me they had the same problem last year. You mean to tell me, you've known about the system being faulty & you don't disclose that before people move in. That's careless & d

Nice location, but dishonest and condescending staff. Also too many rats, mice and cockroaches.

I think the management here is stellar. They try their best to get things done in a timely manner and are friendly. They have to live in the apt also so they are aware of issues happening in the building. I liked that housekeeping regularly cleaned the carpets. The maintenance here was phenomenal. Polite, friendly, and got their work done! They have a nice pool and hammock area. I truly felt safe here. Cons were the freaking doors would break often, but you get used to it. Their emergency maintenance needs to be updated. I left my key outside during a weekend and the emergency maintenance did not answer the phone.

After spending 50-60k here you would expect some kind of "customer service" . Very disappointed in the complex, the back area smells like feces , there's dog urine by the front where guests enter, the carpet in the building needs to be cleaned. When my dryer would be moldy, they told me I needed to keep my dryer door open, when I asked for my vents to be replaced they told me it's "cosmetic" . For what you are paying you would expect better service. In the beginning when I got here it felt like home, now I have no words to describe my experience here.

It looks modern, the amenities are nice, the staff is friendly, and the location is hard to beat. I have lived here for 2.5 years, and the reality is different. This place was built 2016-2017 and clearly by the lowest bidder. In the time I have been here, my air conditioner has broken 13 times (really, 13). I've had a major water leak that flooded my closet and left us without some interior doors and drywall for a month. We've been moved out of our apartment for a week for them to do major construction for defects from when the place was built. I average at least one broken thing a month. The grills don't always work, once a month the gym is a sauna. Water leaks from the ceiling. The list goes on and on. The maintenance team is very responsive, but they are hamstrung by management that is more concerned with saving money and doing as little as possible. For example, today the manager told me the AC is not broken, it just doesn't work when it's hot out. Got an issue after hours? Not their problem they will tell you, even though they live here. With all the great apartments being built in this area, it's hard to see what 1 Hermann Place offers that the others don't. Move here if you like to be frustrated. Move somewhere else if you want to come home and not deal with maintenance.

The line staff at the building is wonderful -- from the attentive and caring concierges (Jennifer, Stephen...), to the helpful shuttle driver, Aaron, to the rental agents, Jackie, Crystal and Eysha. The building is lovely and the location is wonderful. But when there was a roof leak that flooded several apartments, after several days of equivocation, it was determined that I needed to move to another unit. I, and all my possessions, were transported to a unit which had never been cleaned of construction dust, and never been made fully ready for occupancy. But rather than try to make things right as soon as possible, the manager, Carrie, deflected responsibility, dragged her feet and made the whole experience pretty miserable. When I left several weeks later, the washing machine had finally been hooked up to water, the dishwasher had also been connected to water supply, the dead circuits in the master bedroom had been activated, and after about a week's delay, the apartment had been cleaned of sheet-rock dust. But the ice-maker was never made functional, Carrie never apologized for any inconvenience, and she remained as supercilious and rude to me as I observed her being to her staff. She spoiled what would otherwise have been a singularly positive experience in Houston.
