Talked to another person about getting my car, instead of saying hi can I help you, he said " NO CHECKS ". Had no idea so I paid with a credit card only to find out that there is an addition 3% charge on top of it. I had diagnostics done at 2 different places prior. The car was running fine when it was dropped off. I start the car and discover that the engine is running rough, and the check engine light is still ON! Was told that the problem was an ignition coil was bad. I didn't get more than a few blocks from the shop and a pry bar extension fell out from under the car! Now I have to spend more to fix the issue. Would not recommend to anyone I know. Highly Disappointed!!!

On the evening of Apr 22, 2016, while on my way to Harrisburg, PA to attend a funeral the next…read moremorning, I experienced major car problems. It was about 8 PM and I was stranded on the side of the road on I-83 North, with cars whizzing by at 70-75 mph (talk about scary). I called my insurance company and the tow truck driver (who lived an hour away) finally showed up. He wasn't sure where to take my vehicle and relied on his GPS to show him the nearest shops. There was a shop about a mile or so away but for some reason he decided to take my vehicle to Sotdorus Motors and it ended up being a blessing in disguise. Long story short, my experience with Sotdorus was wonderful! I was worried that when they saw my VA tags they would take advantage of me but that was so far from reality. Living two hours away, I had to leave my vehicle there for the week to get repaired but each time I got a phone call from Norm to explain everything in detail before any work was done. Even the receptionist Vandy was very nice when I called and she even mailed me my car garage remote that I inadvertently left in the vehicle--wow! In the end, what I ended up paying in repairs was far less than I was expecting. I had the same issue happen to the vehicle on the opposite side of the vehicle a few months earlier and Meneike charged me double what Sotdorus did! Let me end by saying that in these days where customer service is pretty much non-existent, it is great to see that there are still honest people out there that care and not all about the almighty dollar! Thanks Sotdorus for turning a terrible event on the side of the road into a positive experience! :)

I had my front brakes replaced about a year ago, the mechanic at my old shop told me to expect about a year before the rear gave up the ghost. When I heard squeaking when I applied the brakes, I knew it was time. My car is a 2012 and has served me well. I spent all summer at the beach and figured some sand had worked its way into the mechanism. Made my appointment, went in and about a half hour later, Dave comes out of the shop. "You don't need brakes. You have some dust in the mechanism, but they're basically new." Dave saved me hundreds. I will recommend his shop to everyone who listens.

Service: 10/10 My primary contact was Mike, however I spoke with many other staff in person and over the phone over the course of a week after I had my Crosstrek towed in with a destroyed transmission system. Everyone was courteous, helpful, and responsive. The new transmission they procured was practically brand new and installed professionally. The experience they provided me as a customer was as excellent as the final bill and they are now my go-to shop for transmission and suspension work. Thus, I strongly recommend this business. When I had my car towed in, it was after hours, but conveniently they had an overnight key/car drop off system that was secure and easy. The lobby was clean, organized, and offered free cold water.

He fixed it up before in 2 days when other places bounced me around for a month, and is very fair with pricing and has never tried to upsell beyond what was necessary. One time we thought it was a big problem that would've been hundreds, he figured out it was just something loose, tightened it and didn't even charge anything. Something similar this time. A different shop told me my brakes were kaput and we figured out they were fine, it was something very minor. He could've easily just changed them anyway for profit but instead took the time to explain that they were fine and the other place was full of it. Rotating the tires and fixing the psi fixed the issue. He's very down to earth and honest when something is fine vs needing work. I'll only ever be coming here when I need work, and would recommend to anyone. If you see this, thank you so much!
