I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Nyle Maxwell CDJR in Taylor has been frustrating…read moreenough that I feel it needs to be shared.
I bought a brand-new 2024 Ram 2500 diesel 4x4 with only 47 miles on it. I specifically bought new because I was tired of buying used vehicles that already had problems and constantly having to fix them. Unfortunately, buying new has not given me the experience I expected.
At around 3,000 miles, I brought the truck in for its first oil change. An employee who had only been there about two weeks crashed my truck into a pole while moving it into the service bay. The service manager was apologetic, gave me a rental for about 10 days, and offered me a free oil change for my next visit.
Around 5,000 miles, I brought the truck back because the transmission input shaft seal was leaking. At that time, I also told them the transmission was slipping. I was told they could not reproduce the transmission issue.
Around 12,000 miles, I brought it back because the transmission seal was leaking again. I again reported that the transmission was slipping and also told them the brakes felt extremely squishy. Once again, I was told they could not reproduce the problems.
At around 26,000 miles, I took the truck to the Austin location for an oil change. They found a bad caliper and scheduled me to bring the truck back with a loaner available. When I dropped it off, I again told them about the transmission slipping.
The next day, I was told my truck was ready. I questioned how they could have completed everything so quickly, and the service advisor then told me that the issue actually had not been fixed. They ended up keeping my truck for several more days. During that time, I also asked them to look at the transmission slipping, screen issues, and the RH license plate light that kept falling out. Ultimately, I was told they could not replicate those issues, so they were not resolved.
The communication throughout this entire process was extremely poor. The service advisor handling my truck eventually lost his job, and I was assigned someone else.
At that point, I decided I wanted to get rid of the truck and contacted the dealership about trading it in. I immediately started receiving calls, texts, and emails from several salespeople. As soon as I explained that I still owed money on the truck, the communication stopped. I followed up multiple times and never received a response.
Now the truck is throwing a P2701 transmission-related code. I called to schedule service and explained that I would need a loaner. I was told someone would call me the following week to schedule it. They didn't even take my information down. Now that week has come and gone, and I still haven't heard from anyone.
I have also contacted the customer service department multiple times throughout this entire experience. Each time, I was told someone would follow up with me. Nobody did. I reached out again about the current transmission issue and was told a service manager would contact me. Again, nobody did.
This was my first experience buying a brand-new vehicle, and unfortunately, it has been a terrible one. This is not my first experience dealing with dealerships, and my girlfriend has purchased several vehicles from other dealerships where we've had completely different experiences.
I don't normally write reviews because I don't think they accomplish much, but after this many problems and this much lack of communication, I feel like it's necessary.
I also find it interesting that the dealership appears to have overwhelmingly 5-star reviews, with very few 2- or 3-star reviews. My experience has been nowhere close to that.
At this point, I'm simply hoping that someone at Nyle Maxwell will actually take ownership of the situation, contact me, and help resolve the ongoing transmission problem.
