Came last night for dinner, unfortunately it was disappointing.Service was just off. We waited 10-15 minutes before anyone came over, pita bread was not put on table till main courses arrived, and we were charge for 3 drinks that were not ours $35 worth.servers seemed young and immature, were trying but likely lack of experience was the reason for the results.Food was ok nothing special certainly did not make up for poor service. I came with my besties and we definitely had a wonderful time. The atmosphere is beautiful with delightful setting that makes you feel like your in Greece. The foods we tried were all delicious from appetizer to dessert. The meats were so tender, tasty and a great portions. Best lemon potatoes and rice -- I come here regularly because the food is so great! However, I'm sorely disappointed with the service I received recently. While I understand there weren't many servers, it took 15 minutes for someone to approach our table. My sister and I ordered the entree version of our food and received the appetizer. We asked for the sides as I thought there was a miscommunication and stated that we ordered the "entree" and not the "appy" (the words are so similar so I definitely see where it could have been misheard). I mentioned all the sides that were missing and our server agreed that it was the salad, potatoes, rice, and pita. The only time we were checked in on was advising that we didn't receive our sides. Because service was so slow we did try to ask for help from other workers but the one actual helpful person was the hostess. When given the bill, we were charged for all the sides *separately* and also charged for the pita we did not receive. Instead of the bill being ~$48 I received the bill costing over $71 because everything was charged incorrectly. I didn't even realize how much was paid until my sister urged me to go back to get the copy of what we paid for and upon review on the way home I realized I was overcharged $20+. I honestly would avoid eating in and just stick with takeout because their food is so great. I would just not eat in ever again. read more

Food is most times pretty good. Service is average to poor. I mostly order take out and numerous times (over years) my order is missing items . Their resolution is for me to come back to pick up, it is their mistake so they should deliver the missing items (poor customer service). I stop ordering from them for long periods of time, but as the only Greek place in the area I take a chance and order again, only to be disappointed again as items missing from my order. Recently visited for the first time, had an outstanding experience! Hidden gem in the heart of Ladner. Place was spotless and servers where very nice. I thought the ambiance was on point music was perfect level and the art and furnishings weren't overdone like most Greek restaurants. Food was really really outstanding. Saganaki was amazing! I've been to Greek restaurants in many places and Taverna Gorgona ranks with any of them, including those in Greece. Relaxed outdoor setting on a nice summer evening, very friendly service by Alona and a great chat with the owner. The food was superb, both the roast lamb and the lamb chops that we had and, as many Greek restaurants, there was far larger portions and more sides on your plate than could be consumed in a single meal. BEWARE - Taverna Gorgona. I ordered rib dinner and calamari dinner for pick up tonight. Picked my meal up, drove home and got a call that they forgot the calamari. I asked if they were going to compensate me for having to drive back to get it. I was told I could get a credit for the calamari or come back and get a fresh order. No compensation. This also happened to us in the summer of 2021 when we had friends for dinner on our deck during covid. Missed a meal and I drove back to get it, no compensation or apology. I drove back and returned the meal for a refund. Check your order at pick up, they don't check to make sure it right. read more

Fasolada is a very underrated soup. A staple on most Greek menus (and the national soup of Greece, I believe), it's a tomato based soup with the traditional mirepoix of onions, celery, and carrots and chock full of great northern or other small white bean. Fancy? No. But there is something lovely about it, something familiar and homey. I found myself craving it like crazy on Friday and thankfully, Tavenra Gorgona has it on the menu. Paired with a Horiatiki (the Greek name for Greek Salad), it made for the perfect lunch. I was surprised by the portion size of the soup and salad, and was thrilled by the freshness and flavour of both. I'm super excited to go back and try their Spanakopita -- another favorite of mine. Our service was attentive, though I'd expected the food to be out faster, given I'm sure the soup and salad were both made during the days prep, but I'm not sure how many people are in the kitchen. The best Greek food you will ever taste. I live in Seattle and every time I'm in Ladner visiting family I always stop and enjoy the delicious cusine at Taverna Gorgona. My family and I have ordered everything on the menu and not once have we ever been disappointed. My favorite dishes are the roast lamb and seafood fetuccini. If you're looking for a very average fusion like Greek meal in a nicer environment, this restaurant may be a good place to go. If you want great Greek food that can stand on its own across geographies transcending over the typical poor selection in the region, this is not the place to go. It looks romantic and beautiful for sure but service and food don't live up to match the view. The servers are young, very enthusiastic, and even efficient, but not refined at all like a great well trained server you would expect in a fine Greek restaurant. We ordered the $18 high priced saganaki. The runner just plopped it down on the table. No opa show, no finesse, and only 4 chinsey small slices of pita bread to eat it with. The runner didn't even bother to notice my empty water glass by herself. Instead of the servings spread out, the dinner came right on top of the appetizer as if they were rushing customers through the restaurant. Our two plates were flopped on the table and everything is like a cafeteria blue plate special all on one plate. The shrimp Santorini tasted more like an Italian parmesan dish from a jar of pasta sauce, vs a delicious traditional Greek dish. Most other items on the plates were equally unmemorable. There didn't seem to be many options for seafood, no octopus, sea bass, brazino, or snapper. They did have fried calamari, a couple of unexciting shrimp options (had both), and salmon. I do remember when we asked for the check they left the dirty used plates congested all over the table until we paid there and left. It seems it may be hiring inexperienced staff, and then insufficient training of the staff, which is likely on the restaurant management. In summary, it was an underwhelming visit, edible but not enjoyable, and a poor overall value considering what you get for what you're paying. read more

All the staff we're courteous and friendly and unfazed by our (rather noisy) party. My wife had the roast lamb and I had the ribs, and appies were calamari and dips with pita. Ordered take out for $117.19 including a 15% tip, unfortunately the pita bread that we ordered was left out of the order. That alone is not a big deal, when we called the restaurant, they told us they could not deliver what we paid for nor would they refund us for the appetizer portion of pita that we paid for nor the pita that was supposed to come with the platters.
