We had a long and uncomfortable flight from Seattle. Very long, extremely uncomfortable. No sleep. After collapsing at our hotel for a long nap, we were ravenous, but still travel worn and feeling delicate.
Arkadi was down the street and looked like a nice place to relax over some wine. It was just what we needed. Over a litre of house red, we started to feel human again. I had excellent pan fried zucchini and eggplant with tzatziki sauce, while my husband had chorizo to start. The garlic bread we ordered with the starters was unctuous--thick bread, chewy, with deep garlic flavors and a hint of whatever else was on the grill. Delicious.
Then I had the Moussaka, and husband had the Bifteki. So good, but yes, more than we could finish. The waiter was solicitous and helpful, and it is a lovely bar to sit in and enjoy the evening. We are only in Munchen for a few days, but I think we will fit another visit to the Taverna into our schedule. It was very nice. read more
