Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the place was rather lively even on a Friday afternoon…read more In terms of the food we shared an order of poutine and their blackened chicken fettuccine. Poutine was decent - not the best I've had in town but not the worst. The portion was very small, and I was surprised to see it priced almost as much as an entree on the bill - they don't have it on the menu a la carte but you can upgrade a side of fries to poutine for $4. Since the pasta dish didn't normally come with fries I asked if they could just do a side of poutine and they said yes (and then charged $14 for it). It wasn't worth it. The blackened chicken fettuccine was disappointing. Our host highly recommended it, and it's a dish I generally enjoy enough I even make it at home. The blackening rub they use had almost no spice, which to me defeats part of the point of "blackened" chicken - the taste was more on the herby side. The noodles themselves were bland and the sauce was almost non-existent - sadly underseasoned. I chopped the chicken up into tiny bits and mixed it all together so that they flavors from the chicken could add at least some excitement to the pasta, but while it helped it didn't quite save the dish. Overall the experience was fairly mediocre. Maybe I should have gotten a burger, but I went with the host's recommendation instead for a dish I normally quite enjoy and came away disappointed. The price of the side of poutine is on me - I didn't ask ahead of time. But it came out to be nearly double what I'd expected for half as much as I'd thought it would be.

We had been hearing about it on Facebook and decided to stop in. This establishment was previously vacant after several failed restaurants closed up shop. The place has been nicely renovated and we love the long bar you can sit at when you walk into the long, narrow space. There's a lot of table seating in the back area if a bar top isn't your style. While we took a look at the menu and only tried one appetizer, our review is mainly for drinks, the atmosphere and service. The drink menu is extensive and they have a really good selection of wines and cocktails. We would definitely recommend dropping in after work or for a late night drink. No street parking out front, but the location is very accessible. The bus stops right outside which is great if you're looking to have a few drinks and not have to worry about driving. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back. The owner told us that next week is 'Burger Week' and that once that wraps up, there will be a more extensive food menu.

The menu is pretty extensive, so there's options for everyone and because they cater to the business crowd, the food comes out quick. Be prepared to wait for lunch or supper as this popular spot gets busy! Staff is very friendly and service is excellent- just like it used to be at the old location. Lots of fun drink options and a great place for larger groups. If you're in Winnipeg, definitely sit on the patio for the limited summer they get. Parking isn't an option during the day so opt to walk or take transit unless you want to pay for a spot in a lot. Evenings are easier to park so you can easily walk over from some of the side streets. Connects to the business towers and all of the great underground shops of the Winnipeg Square.

That said, the dining room is elegant and open. Service was great - our waiter was attentive and prompt. All that said, the food was pretty mediocre. My wife had a Margherita pizza and I had the steak w/ truffle tortellini. The pizza was okay - but just okay. My Medium-Rare steak came out Medium and was fairly tough - it's sirloin which already isn't a particularly tender cut. The tortellini had very little truffle flavor and instead had a bunch of sliced regular mushrooms.

I ordered the 12 oz New York strip with a twice baked potato, and everything was spot on. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, super juicy and tender. They start you off with some warm bread (always a win), and I had a hazy IPA that paired really well with the meal. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and on point. I opted for the bone-in rib steak & added lobster tail, twice baked potato & mushrooms on the side. The lobster tail was definitely the star of the show on the plate. The lobster meat was sweet enough, the butter wasn't even necessary. The rib steak was a bit too peppery for me and didn't have the marbling I usually find in this cut. The twice baked potato was good, and I can see how some people are a fan of it. I prefer thin mushroom slices and not the whole mushroom, but again, to each their own. A bit on the pricier side, so might be worth a try if you're around and want a bit nicer of a dinner.
