Place fun with multiple tables filled for small parties. Went to watch some sports as they have multiple TVs piping multiple games/sports. Place wasn't too busy. Food: went in for the typical bar fair to want some sports. This time line in for chicken wings, which I got buffalo and order of Inferno wings. Inferno was not very spicy. Not like the typical where you take a smell in your nose starts to run. Wings came out relatively quickly.(10 minutes.). Service was very quick for drinks and menu. We enjoyed coming here to watch football, as there are many tvs in the place playing all of the games. Typical sports bar food, which was reasonably priced. They also had a brunch menu, but we didn't try anything from the brunch side. I got the Buffalo chicken wrap, and my boyfriend got the Gorgonzola burger, and we both liked our meals. My only feedback is that the service seemed slow. There were many people, including us that were sitting around idly, and having to wait a while for our food and drinks. However, we still enjoyed it and would come back. They had a lot of cool sports memorabilia on the walls that added a nice touch. read more

Dinner at Tavern on 7 in Norwalk was good. I had the Steak and Cheese sandwich. Thinly sliced steak was cooked perfectly. Tender and good flavor. It does come with caramelized onions, could have used more onions in the steak. Topped with melted Swiss cheese. I asked to have the cheese mixed and melted within the steak, they didn't do it. They melt it on top of the steak, could have been melted more. Love that they serve it with a side of Au jus. Also comes with a side of fries. Unfortunately my fries were served room temp. I have had fries here before they are amazing when they come out freshly made. Started with the French Onion Soup.... It was alright. Soup could use more flavor (pepper or something) and they put 1 slice of cheese on it. Kind of takes away the whole cheesy essence of this dish. We also had the nachos for the table... good dish for sharing. The other dishes at the table were enjoyed as well. One of my guests had the steak and shrimp entree. Looked amazing. He said it was very good. The menu offers some other great options. I would definitely explore this menu more. Laidback spot, very sports bar atmosphere. Seems like a great vibe to watch sports and chill with friends. Also a great spot for a last minute family dinner. Best part of the night was the service. It wasn't necessarily busy when we got there but it started to pick up pace as the night went on. We started at the bar for drinks... bar staff were friendly and great. However, our server at the table was amazing (wish I knew her name, young girl). She was friendly, efficient throughout the night, we never had to wait long for anything and she was super personable. Unexpected delight! We stopped here on a rainy day to wait out traffic on the Merritt and we're pleasantly surprised. I didn't have high expectations but the hospitality and food delivered. We were seated indoors right away - and on the way to our table the waitress picked up crayons and coloring sheets for the kids. If you're a parent of toddlers, you know how a coloring activity can placate hungry little people :) The menu had a bit more variety than I expected - and we were all able to find something we wanted. Chicken wings were perfectly mild, kids' quesadillas were yummy (although they enjoyed the fries most!), and my crab cake was delicious. I also ordered a coconut mojito which was super refreshing, however, there was very little trace of it being an adult beverage! This place is in the right spot on Route 7 as I decided to stop by watch the wildcard weekend footballs game. A perfectly relaxed sports bar to watch your games. The bar had a great vibe with a lot of soccer decorations and team posters telling me they host soccer games too. The beer and food are basic and good in value. The had a decent selection of brews on the tap. I ordered the nachos to go with beer and they were a bit stale. However, overall it turned out a delightful experience and would definitely stop by on a different game day. read more

So it's after 9 and I'm heading back to NYC. EVERY OTHER PLACE IS CLOSED! I mean folks what's with Connecticut? Driving down 7 I figure I'll find something!! Yes I call and the women confirms the Tavern is open ! So I drive back up and park In I go. Not many people on a Wednesday night but ok let's give it a go...first I ask for a house cab. I order a salad, trying to be healthy and some chicken tenders with sweet potato fries My waitress is very attentive and the food comes quickly The cab is smooth and delicious no after bite. Wonderful Then the salad and tenders with a huge plate of fries! I mean enough for three people The chicken is a bit tough but tasty. Fries hit the spot I look around and see a group of men coming in wearing suites with some women in their party. I wonder if they're salesmen of some sought. No clue to give away. They are rather jovial and loud but that's ok. I finish quickly as it's already 9 and I have to drive back to the City. All in all not bad for tavern/bar food. They have some good reviews.... well... first of all, I felt like I ordered cranberry juice, not "vodka cranberry" when I took a sip of my drink, which is a bad sign. You kind of want to notice vodka in your vodka cranberry. It appeared there was one server and one bartender on duty, and it was difficult to get any attention. The food was not that great - my boyfriend's "well done" burger was pink in the middle... my quesadilla was bland - how do you make peppers and onions bland? Both dishes came with thin-cut fries, but they were greasy. The environment is unpleasant -- it was full of screaming soccer fans. I don't imagine ever going back here. read more

The salad part was very good, as was the dressing, but the meat was kind of disappointing. Tried to eat here a few months ago back. Not many customers I ordered and after I ordered she went to sit with someone and ate, I sat there and the only other waitress decided to take a break after 30 minutes of watching everyone in the place(4) eating I decided to ask the young lady who took my order " why is everyone in this place eating and not me it's been 30 min ? Found this place on the road so we could watch the Pats game. We were driving home from Myrtle Beach. This place is amazing for sports - the many tvs and the decor. The food was delicious. My bf and I split the bruschetta and I got the chimichurri burger. Both were delicious. He got wings which had tons of sauce on them! I know it's my fault to have ordered tacos at a place like this... but they were on the cover of the menu, under the section for wings (which are really good). So i thought maybe i'll try it, afterall, their food has always been pretty decent for a pub, why not. Dead wrong. Total bad decision. I make better tacos (from the meat to the pico de gallo to actual hot sauce)! It was so bland. I think the steak was steamed and didn't even get any love from the salt and pepper shakers. Who serves chipotle ranch with tacos? Again, my fault for getting tacos. Everything else they make are decent (nothing to write home about). Wings were excellent. Had a Christmas party for office here. I will start off by saying parking is very slim there are only a few spaces and if you don't get one you have to reverse into a pretty busy post road and go down the street to park. The party had almost every appetizer in the menu and the staff was accommodating. They best appetizer in my opinion were the wings. We had buffalo wings and some type of soy honey wings and both were very nice and crispy and both sauces were very tasty. The calamari was lightly breaded and fried but the portion was small. The empanadas were filled with beef and cheese but the dipping sauce was a roasted tomato salsa that tasted a bit burnt. The nacho appetizer was nothing special and the fries and tenders were just that. I will most likely go back on a less busy night and try dinner instead of just apps and drinks They do take credit card read more

Great local spot in northern Norwalk! Covid-19 precautions are followed so I feel safe coming in for a drink or meal. Service is efficient and friendly - shout out to the great bartender, Mark, for his knowledge of the menu and tasty cocktail recommendations. Burger is a solid choice and cooked perfectly, the cheesecake I brought home was another home run (especially the sauce!!!), and drinks quench my thirst perfectly. The WORST customer service ever! My company placed an order for about $100 and I asked to have it delivered to my car (curbside) The employee must have had a horrible day as she was not the nicest, to say the least! I live less than 1 mile away from the location and I went to take my food into the house and the entire bag ripped and what falls out but the heaviest dish in the bag. First of all why was it on top? Secondly, I called the establishment and I told them what happened. I was placed on hold and I could overhear the employees having a conversation about me, and the individual goes, the lady that just left? No, its her fault! Pardon me, how do you know that? I got a bit heated as I had to wait an extended amount of time for them to come back to the phone. I called back and was put on hold again. I ended up having to call back again and I was told to come back and get a new dish. Not one apology. I like the food, but the service is AWFUL!! What the heck?????? The food here is actually really really good! Had a burger tonight that was cooked perfectly. Ordered medium, and it was charred on the outside, perfectly juicy and pink inside. The chicken marsala is really good too. If you want a low key sports bar vibe with good food, this place is good. Only thing id recommend is dim the lights a little when its night time. A bit bright. A decent draught beer selection (about 11 this day) and a large number of bottled choices. We split a Bacon Gorgonzola Burger. Excellent flavors. The burger and fries were cooked as requested.
