The chicken wings here are OUTSTANDING! They are crispy on the outside and stay tender on the inside. Plus they have so many different sauces to choose from, you can't go wrong. Beyond the wings, our sandwiches (with chips and fries) were delicious and filling. The service was all super friendly and helpful. It can get busy here, especially since it's one of restaurants that stays open year round, but lake country is all about relaxing and taking your time. I had an opportunity to try Tavern 203 in Nevis this weekend. I've heard good things from family and so I thought we'd give it a try. We wanted to start off with the scotch eggs, but they were not temporarily available so we had the fried pickles which came very quickly. I am a pickle fan by nature and the fried pickles were good. They came with a spicy sauce which was a find complement but a little too spicy so we got an order ranch dressing as well. My understanding is the pickles are a little thicker than they used to be, but I was fine with what we got. Shortly after getting the appetizer we placed our order for entrées. Unfortunately, this is where things deteriorated, apparently due to problems in the kitchen. The entrées were delayed by 30-45 minutes. We eventually got a side salad and a Caesar salad. Neither salad was anything special, but nurishing. The artichoke pizza finally came and was quite good. The pizza was an artichoke and spinach paste base with chicken, caramelized onions, and mozzarella on top. This was hot and flavors a lot of artichoke, chicken, caramelized onion, and mozzarella were all distinct. The tavern burger that came next was plentiful and tasted good, but was slightly overdone from the temperature requested. The tater tots with the burger were warm, but could have definitely been hotter. The service throughout was mostly attentive, but clearly struggling with the kitchen service issues and didn't have much to tell us through most of the meal. The restaurant was busy but not overcrowded and they had plenty of seating so I don't think this service is typical and I think we got there on a bad day. Had we been given an option a half hour into our seating we might've skipped the entrées and just ordered more appetizers if they had been quicker. read more

Good food, great hours of operation. I like the fact that it is open when others are closing of are closed. What I would encourage owner to examine is the quality of attitude of server/bartender should be the same no matter who is working. However after multiple times there we had a not so great observation of one individual who was working, and other time there a great experience with the employees. I can only review on the food consistency in Tavern 203. I meet a friend a couple of weeks ago on a Tuesday and saw the hot beef being served and it looked amazing, enough that we returned two weeks later to eat. Arrived at 6:50 and at 7:25 I asked a food runner if our order had been overlooked?! Miraculously we were served at 7:30. A mound of real potatoes with what seemed to be flavorless canned gravy, a few pieces of old chewed up beef with a few strips of fried onion. Served. Luke. Warm!!! Honestly, our little town has few choices, so it is very disappointing to get excited about patronizing a place that brought me back and having it be awful. read more

We decided to try this restaurant for our family Christmas. It was clean and had a nice & welcoming atmosphere. The service was excellent. There were 13 of us, along with a lot of other customers, and the food came out within an appropriate timeframe. For the most part, everyone enjoyed their food. We ordered the deep-fried pickles, a couple of different types of burgers, pizza, macaroni & cheese, chili, and three broasted chicken dinners. Most of the food was enjoyed. The one exception was the chicken dinners, which was extremely disappointing. The mashed potatoes and gravy were not overly flavorful, nor was the chicken. Was a little hesitant after reading the other reviews, but tonight we had a great experience at Tavern 203 - would happily go back another time! Our server was attentive, the food came out at a good pace, and all of it was very good. The roasted Brussels were en point and tasty, and the broasted chicken was some of the best I've had - with a generous side of broasted potatoes. The blackberry lemonade gin cocktail was great - and be forewarned, they've got a heavy pour. We'll be back! read more

if you go here make sure to allow 2 hours. We have went here 6 times now. The food is good. But every single time we go it's about 20 minutes before some one brings u menus, then another 20 minutes plus before they take your drink order, then another 20 before u get to order food. then the least amount of time we waited for food was 45 minutes and no one stops back to give u refills etc. only 2 of the 6 times it was busy. The other times hardly any one in there. if u sit at the bar u get lots of attention but we usually have grandkids or the spots are taken already. Among the restaurants that opened in "23, this is the most promising. .Fresh from one of the most interesting conversations I have ever had with an owner, I can't wait to get back and try something else on the menu. I had a chance to discuss a number of the items on the menu, why they were chosen, and how they were prepared. Some items that need mentioning are: Chicken & Waffles (Made with a savory gravy), a Tavern Burger with a 1/2 lb. brisket patty, and a Friday fish fry. My friend and I ordered Open Face Hot Beef! It was delicious but when we ordered the menu stated $14.00 and we were charged $15.00. We had heard good things about the food at Tavern 302. We decided to try breakfast, which ended up being a very poor experience. Service was very slow, with the food taking 40 minutes to get to our table. They blamed it on staffing, but for the number of customers, they had plenty of staff. The food quality and quality of ingredients was very bad. Ham in the ham & cheese omelet was a cheap version of thin luncheon meat, and it wasn't even diced up. The omelet itself was burnt on the outside. We also had the avocado toast, where half of the avocado pieces were a dark brown throughout, way past ripe. Food was alright, a bit high priced. Fine for "fine dining." Pretty small restaurant. Max, I would say, could fit is like 15. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be like a fancy restaurant. Was the only customer in there the entire time. Would be a good restaurant for summer but I think during the winter they are going to be suffering sometimes. Also noticed big billows of smoke coming from the kitchen. To thick to be cooking smoke, so I'm pretty sure they vape back there. Doesn't appear to be on the food. But who knows. Staffing seemed like they had enough when I was there pretty responsive. Drinks are reasonably priced. Pizzas are shit. Placed like they have ocd. It's a pizza throw it on. Doesntnhave to be perfect. Some of the best Pizzas are put together like they hated us. Also way over priced. Zorbas is almost half that. At least do some deals or something. All in all.
