What she would need, for how long and most importantly, why. She wasn't just talking to me, she was talking to both of us. Acknowledging the fact that my child is a person, the person that would be experiencing the treatment and that her questions and fears were valid. While I had my own expectations of what the braces journey would be for us...lots of anxiety, tears, and frustrations...I am happy that it has been none of that. I truly believe that this pleasant journey is because of the calm demeanor Dr. Kurth has when she speaks with children and actually hears how they are feeling. She never dismisses my child feelings and always finds a way to ensure her comfort and she never rushes during our appointment. When it was time to make the mold of her teeth, my child was afraid of gagging and throwing up. Dr. Kurth and her staff took the time to listen to her and worked with her to get it done. I was shocked! I was expecting a day full of panic and several tries.
