I didn't make an appt in advance - in case I changed my mind - but got there as they opened on Sunday morning. I was met by the check in team and went through some of questions while we waited for the piercing expert for the day - Avery - to arrive. Avery came in and spent a lot of time with me talking through all my questions and helping guide my final decisions. It's been a decade since my last piercing (and that one didn't go well, ending with my jewelry getting absorbed and a visit to an ENT doc to get it removed. Ouch indeed) and another decade and a half before that one so while I've been through it, time makes memories fuzzy. In any case, Avery really took the time to help me feel good about my decisions. Popped into the chair and everything was done within another 20-30 minutes. The prices for the piercing and jewelry felt extremely fair so $200 for three piercings, two new pieces of jewelry, another jewelry change for the tragus I've had since I was 19 and some saline spray and I was on my way. So far, so good. If you're going to go through the effort, you have to commit to the aftercare and luckily I'm good once I get a rhythm going. I'm going to wait for these to all heal completely - and for after some travel I have planned in the spring - and then I'll probably go back for some more goodies. Went here on Friday the 13th for their flash tattoo event. Got there at 4 to put our names in and…read morewe were told that we would definitely get called back in by that night for our turn. Went back at 9pm and they told us that they signed over 100 people in and they only got through 10 tattoos so far! They were closing and would be calling over the weekend for us to come in! We waited all day to be told we couldn't get tattoos until the weekend. If we knew they wouldn't have been able to tattoo us we would have gone else where as Friday the 13th has tattoo deals everywhere. Well then they started posting their photos from the flash event. This is the quality of the tattoos they were doing. It looks like they didn't even use a stencil! No one in my group wanted to go anymore if we got called in. I messaged Buddha blue on Instagram telling them that was a really bad tattoo and was blocked! Yikes! Truth hurts, they got in way over their heads by knowingly signing up 100+ tattoos to be done and then screwed everyone over by only being able to do 10... and couldn't even do the tattoos right.

Finding an artist you click with, who has a style you love, that you can put all of your trust in is such a difficult task. As someone who has accumulated quite a few tattoos from different artists, I can honestly say I never felt that I had found "the one" - the artist I knew I could stick with through all of my future ideas - the artist I would truly and quite literally let draw whatever creations they saw in their head on my body - until I met Kaylee. I have plenty of visible tattoos but the one I went to Kaylee for was going to be my most visible, most important piece yet - an ear tattoo. Having a tattoo basically on your face is a big deal, you know? I had no doubt in my mind that Kaylee could come up with something beautiful that would fit my anatomy perfectly, and I was SO right. Kaylee designed the piece right on my ear, making sure it looked as if it was always meant to be there. The attention to detail and the care that went into cutting out each piece of the stencil to make sure it laid on my ear correctly was nuts. Kaylee is a perfectionist and that is what you WANT when you are getting something permanently altered. The process of getting the tattoo itself was SO comfortable - I was actually shocked.
