Dave was amazing. He worked with me and gave fantastic advice at the initial consult. Even on the day of he was helpful and listened to my requests. The place is very clean and well kept. Front desk, Olga, was so fun. Also coordinating it all with Devin was really convenient.
If you're looking for a tattoo shop in Honolulu, hit up Huevo at Tattoo Licious! He nailed it! Super nice and talkative guy. He made me feel so comfortable and even talked to my 8 yr old son a lot too! He made sure to check on me and make sure I was as comfy and taken care of as possible! Next time I go to Oahu, another tattoo by Huevo will be on my agenda!
This was actually the second tattoo I got done at this shop. My first was 9 years ago on my first visit to Honolulu so I decided to come here again and I was not disappointed. Enson did this tattoo and I think he did an amazing job. He completed the work quickly while maintaining a friendly conversation. Everyone I interacted with was friendly. This is the only shop I have ever had multiple tattoos done in. It's becoming a tradition for me to get tattoos when I visit Hawaii and I would be more than happy to come back here to keep that tradition going.
Love my NEW Honu Tattoo! Great Job. My review never posted so thought I would submit. Update. Have had tattoo for over 4 years and still looks awesome !
Walk in appointment went smoothly and my BIL really likes his tattoo. It was his first ever, so I really appreciate the time taken to make him comfortable with his choice.
It makes me really sad to write this review, but almost a year later, and i'm still extremely sad with my experience with the artist, James Pope. In November of 2020, I booked a consultation with James for a really meaningful piece to cover up self harm scars on my thigh. It was something that took me years to finally do. Come the consultation day, James was late. When he arrived he was not apologetic or welcoming. He did not greet me, he just sat down and expected me to start talking. This was my first big piece, so I didn't know really what to say. I ended up showing him the size of what I wanted, where I wanted it, and I gave him many examples of what I liked and made it VERY CLEAR what I did not like. I showed him pictures of peonies I liked, and showed him what I did not like in some photos, just so he knew exactly what not to do. We had this consultation so he could draw it up and have it ready for my appointment a week or so later. I told him I DID NOT want lines in the petals of the flowers, I wanted the centers to be dark and the petals light, and I wanted the petals to be rounded and feminine. He quoted me $1k for this tattoo, and of course I did not like the price, but I figured he would do a phenomenal job giving me what I wanted, and this tattoo meant the world to me. To finally let go of all of the pain and hurt that those scars reminded me of. Come the night before my appointment, I get a call in the late evening, I don't remember the time, but I do know it was already dark outside. It was the receptionist saying that James wanted to reschedule our appointment because he needed to leave the Island and catch a flight in the early afternoon. He still took me the next day because I said that I didn't have any other days, because I didn't. I had just my daughter a month before. He was late and drew the stencil that day. After I arrived. Something he was supposed to have done already. The stencil was very pretty and I did not see anything I didnt like (because there was no shading and no harsh lines). As he was tattooing me, I found out he was going to cancel my appointment because he was going to the big island to buy a boat. Nothing urgent. I also did not ask for any breaks and could not see what was being done, so I didnt see the tattoo until after all these line work was done. I was so so sad. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he could fix it. He charged me $1,000 for 3 HOURS, and did everything I asked not to do. That is $333 per HOUR. James, was this worth $333 per hour, $1,000? I have reached out to him multiple times since then, telling him how devastated I have been. This was such a meaningful tattoo. I'm still heartbroken. He has told me he'd give me half of my money back (which I paid $1k STILL even though he did everything i asked him not to do), and he has told me numerous times he'd pay for me to get it removed. I've told him he could do that, and he said he'd talk to the person who removes them and he'd get back to me. Every time I'd reach out, he'd say that. He never would get back to me. And I have told him multiple times that my family is military and will be leaving the island in february, so it would need to be done soon. Still nothing. I'm sorry to be writing this post, but I don't want anyone to go through what I am still trying to deal with. To reiterate, this was a tattoo to cover my self harm scars. Something to finally set me free. Something to cover them. Now i'm just reminded of my past as well as my horrible experience and the fact that I paid $1,000 for everything I had asked not to do. This is forever. I wish he had taken it seriously. If there's any way this shop could help me, I'd appreciate it.
My husband and I are moving from Honolulu back to the Mainland, and we each decided to get a tattoo to keep Hawaii with us. We're in our early 60s and have never had a tattoo before, so we did our research, read lots of different place's reviews, and checked around in person to see which tattoo company would be best for us. Tattoo Licious is absolutely THE BEST!! Their shop is by far the cleanest and it's the most organized with enough space so that we were not crowded in with other people at all! They're even the only tattoo shop that has a coffee shop attached inside, which was pretty cool. ENSON, our tattoo artist is FANTASTIC! He understood that we're newbies to tattoos and patiently explained everything we needed to know, from design to aftercare!! We each had our own designs in mind, which we explained to him, and he came up with the perfect final designs! Tattoo Licious is ultra-clean; they use only sterilized equipment on each person, no ink colors were reused between us, and we felt very safe. In addition, everyone we met there [especially the ladies at the front desk] was very accommodating, personable, friendly, and kind. And most importantly- our tattoos look so AMAZING!! Thank you Enson and Tattoo Licious!!!!!!

I had an amazing experience at Tattoolicious, especially working with my artist, Molina. He listened to all of my preferences, brought my vision to life, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. I never felt like I couldn't speak up or take a break if I needed one. I'm extremely happy with how the tattoo turned out and will definitely be coming back for more! read more
Been coming here since 2016 and I can't say enough great things. I've gotten my whole sleeve done by Enson in 2016-2017, and he's still there today! Great work, friendly, and knows what he's doing. He even touched my sleeve up 9 years later when I moved back to the island! I truly feel like family when I go here. Tina and Olga at the front desk are the sweetest ladies and they make sure you're well taken care of. You can catch me up there chatting with them before and after every appointment. I've never seen bad artwork come out of this shop. Every artist is amazing, they all have their own style and vibes, so you're sure to find one you like! I got part of my leg and my fingers done by Huevo. Goofy dude but puts out great work as well. From American traditional, to fine line, to horror. He even did my boyfriend's sleeve! Prices depend per artist but it is Waikiki and it is Hawaii - what you expect for the location and the quality of work. Inside of the shop is spacious and clean. Each artist has their own work station. You're treated with respect here. I love and I'll miss everyone at Tattoolicious when I leave. Do yourself a favor and come here. read more

I cannot begin to convey how great this tattoo shop is. The ambiance is top notch-probably one of the best shops I've been lucky enough to encounter. Tina and Jenna (and everyone at the front desk) were very friendly and helpful. They arranged for me to receive this tattoo on the last day of my vacation outside of their normal operating hours so that I could get this done without interfering with my plans. I love that they did this fundraiser and I was very pleased to be acquainted with the owner, Sean (who came in hours early to do my tattoo himself.) if I could give a thousand stars I would. This was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. I will definitely be back next time we visit Honolulu. Mahalo! read more

I had a tattoo done here by Andy a few years ago and it's the worst ink I have on my body, in a collection of 7. I hate it so much and I can't wait to get it removed or covered. While he was super nice and we had great conversation, the quality is absolutely awful. I keep it covered at all times. The lines are very thick and blown out, and extremely, extremely, shaky and uneven. I brought in a picture of The Great Wave, a famous art piece. He wanted to change it to match the colors of more tropical waters - like Hawaii. I agreed and thought it was a neat idea. He ended up making the sky fade from a unsettling yellow straight into black for the sunset. Which didn't blend, didn't hold, and now looks awful. He didn't do anything in white even though the waves are dramatically white capped. Most of the color has fallen out and is splotchy. It's nearly 5" tall and I paid over $300... My regular tattoo artist now scolds me for getting a tattoo on vacation, and I will never do it again! Hopefully I can eventually get it fixed. read more

Where do I start? I came back within just shy of one month to get this second piece. My artist (RJ) is an absolute badass at what he does. This piece was more than special to me because it signifies my people and culture. RJ took it to another level and completely killed it! I am stoked to have a chance at another tattoo done by him. I recommended him to all my friends. The staff were amazing and immediately welcomed and acknowledged me which I greatly appreciated. The shop was well maintained, clean, and sanitized. read more

Went here before the holidays to get something to treat myself to this crazy year. They were really safe about the appointments and the way they used the spaces, everyone was masked up and the space is nice and modern and really well ventilated. I had the visiting artist Lena who was just such a dream, so nice and really great conversation (took two sessions and a lot of hours haha). The piece healed up so nice and I seriously couldn't be happier with my experience, despite covid. Hoping to come back soon to get some more work done by the amazing team of artists here! Also brew and foam is an awesome lil amenity in the space too read more

The front staff was super friendly and helpful but man was I disappointed in my artist and his work. Came in with my good friend to get matching wrist tattoos. Mike mocked our design and made fun of us for the entire session. He was very harsh and aggressive with our bodies! My friend requested to relocate her stencil twice and after that he said he would start charging her. Another artist encouraged us to poke fun and ask him to move it again. I was stunned at his anger. What a total ass! The tattoo looks horrible too so I'm very disappointed and will not be returning. read more

So my fiancé and I decided to take a trip here to Hawaii a month before coming. We did some research and found this amazing tattoo shop. We decided to get matching tats so we wanted to make sure our artist could live up to our expectations. Keith went above and beyond. He was very attentive and understanding of what we wanted and how we wanted our tattoo. He was patient and kind and just an all around cool dude. Thanks Keith! The shop itself is very clean and modern. Got the "brand new" type of vibe. The shop staff were also amazing! I forgot my phone and by the time I realized it I was already almost to the North Shore but the receptionist said don't worry about go have fun and it will be safe. I highly recommend this shop not only for the artistic talent but also the hospitality. Mahalo!! read more

I had a tattoo appointment with Zee, with a $100 deposit. Due to my finances being a bit precarious this month due to unexpected travel, I was worried about the cost of the tattoo. I wanted to make sure I could afford it without putting my family in jeopardy financially. I wasn't sure if the tattoo was gonna cost $300 or $1500 or by the hour or what? From personal experience, the cost of a tattoo can vary greatly. I called the shop and asked if I could get a quote or price estimate for the tattoo. The receptionist advised me to ask Zee. I messaged Zee on IG (the only way I know to contact her) and asked her a few questions including the estimated cost of the tattoo. She responded to everything but the question of price - not even acknowledging that I had asked. I then wrote another message asking only asking how much the tattoo was gonna cost. Zee, again, did not even acknowledge the question. I ended up skipping out on the appointment because I couldn't get anyone to give me anything resembling a price quote. I don't think it is too unreasonable to know what something is gonna cost before you have to purchase it. I feel a bit disrespected that Zee wouldn't even acknowledge my questions about the cost. For my $100 donation to Zee and TL, I will be sure to advise people to stay away from this particular artist and shop. read more

We had an idea of what we wanted when we made our reservations but after spending some time in Oahu we decided we needed something more of the vibe. The artist Sebastian was so cool about listening to what we liked and drew something up to totally suit us and our experience! He was quick but did an amazing job!! I am so happy with the results! The front desk lady was so extremely nice made you feel so welcomed and we asked for food recommendations and didn't make you feel like a dumb tourist for asking haha. Couldn't recommend this place more! read more

Ask the Community - Tattoo Licious
Do you guys allow clients to bring someone with them to watch while tattoo is being done?
There is a sitting area for your +1 and they can see into the tattoo area, but I think you'd have to call and ask if they could sit next to you. There is a cafe, tables, couch, it's a really cool spot.
Do you allow clients to use numbing spray during a tattoo session and/or numbing cream before a tattoo session?
Depending on the brand, and also depending on the Artist as well. Some are very fine with it and others don't feel its best for healing and accepting inks.
U guys do half sleeve Filipino tribal tattoo?
If you have the picture of it, I am sure they are able to do it.
Do you do cover up tattoos for small designs?
Yes we do. Depending on the old tattoo, placement and what the new design will be. Every Artist has their own approach to what limitations/ possibilities in a cover up process. Feel free to contact front desk at appointments@tattoolicious.com.…
Friday the 13th tattoo specials?
Sorry but we don't have any friday the 13th specials. But we do have a fundraiser coming up that will be epic.
Hey guys I'm just wondering how much is your minimum rate you charge for us to get a tattoo?
Our minimum is $100.
What is the average price of a tattoo ( maybe a tribal)?
All depending on size, placement and style of tribal. So many factors to get a ballbark need to be figured out first. Thats why consultations are free. :)
Do they do piercings from a licensed professional/can I bring my 3 year old with me?
Sorry we no longer do piercings. The only place we feel comfortable recommending people is to Tony at Skin Deep. He seems to do a great job.
Visiting Hawaii from out of state without legal parents. Would I be able to get tattooed with parental consent and legal documents? (17 years old)?
I think your best option is to contact Tattoolicious directly.
What ink do you use to tattoo?
Shop is full of different artists. You're best off looking up and asking the specific artist you're interested in having work done by.
I need a cover up any suggestions?
It depends on the cover up. If it's tribal, it's harder to cover. I would strongly suggest going in for a consultation. Great people, they'll help you out.
What is the tattoo minimum and do you need to make an appointment?
$100 i believe.
