At other six flags parks, there is Superman: Ultimate Flight which is usually the flying coaster. At Six Flags Magic Mountain, we have Tatsu, the lay-down coaster. Tatsu is a laydown coaster that ends up being similar to Superman with its inversions so you feel as if you're flying. It's one of the newer coasters at the park and it's pretty damn popular too. With speeds reaching up to 62 mph and heights reaching 170 ft coupled with various inversions -- you're in for a treat when riding Tatsu. The pretzel loop is so intense, just like Superman so look forward to that too. This was my first coaster at the park and I can see why this park is labeled "the thrill capital of the world." They truly deliver thrills and this one was great.

One of my favorite rides. So unique. You will definitely get a fear of heights with this one. Haha! This feels more like a Superman ride that the Escape from Krypton ride. You're literally Superman'ing as you feel as you're flying on this thing. Though it's supposed to simulate flying like an Eastern dragon, slithering through the air. Which is also kind of cool, thinking of that type of dragon and a coaster. Had no idea I'd ridden the longest, highest and fastest flying coaster in the world. Feels neat.

Omg so I have been to Magic Mountain a few times and never rode this due to the long lines. Finally, rode this yesterday and the pretzel loop is legit! The dive into this is just incredible. This is now my #2 at six flags over magic mountain just under Wonder Woman. Awesome ride! Not for the faint of heart!

Tatsu broke down while we were at the top of the lift hill, leaving us dangling 170 feet above the ground facing down for 30 minutes. We were all traumatized, chose to leave the park, and first relations wouldn't even give us a refund. Magic mountain just lost a Customer for life, and will be sharing this experience with my entire social network so they don't ever go back either.

Have you ever thought you could fly then tried to do it only to be disappointed that you can't fly and with having done that action you find yourself having some other agonizing pain besides the disappointment of knowing that you completely failed? Well the good news is that when you ride Tatsu you get to fulfill that desire to fly without the repercussion of the pain associated with the failure you previously endured! Tatsu takes you to the top of Magic Mountain well into the sky with an amazing view of the ground below you as your pretty much laying on your chest with your legs held up as you fly around spinning and twisting round and round tell you hit that gigantic loop where your on your back all the way to the ground before being flipped back up to being on your chest again for the next little bit of twisting turning fun fun fun! The line for Tatsu moves kinda quick when they are running both the stations so your never really stuck in one place for too long. The really only downfall of Tatsu is that it's in desperate need of a paint job to the point of where it's just a worn orange as I believe they haven't painted it since the ride opened in 2006! Wile the paint job doesn't effect the ride what so ever all I know is that if I spent 21 million dollars on a ride I'd keep it's color bright a decade later as a sign of respect for such a crazy cool unique roller coaster. Tatsu is an amazing coaster from it's awesome design to it's ability to simulate flight with every ride this is always a must ride when visiting Magic Mountain and always will be one of my favorite attractions in the park!

The record breaking ( and infamous) pretzel loop will try VERY damn hard to make you black out, and lose your lunch in the process.

What's up Flavor Budz!!…read more So, it's been a minute since I've been to Six Flags. I was feeling the burn, seriously, walked for hours! But anything for my niece, she wanted to be there for her birthday, so there we were. The family showed up and showed out for my baby girl. She and her closest girlfriends had a blast. The park wasn't crowded, so they got through lines pretty quick. The park is still in good shape, most rides are running, I just didn't realize how hilly it was! Eh! Good thing I had my cute walking shoes on, auntie was cute! Ok! My hubby upgraded our day pass, so Six Flags, I'll be back! P.S. If you're interested, upgrade your day pass inside the park for $50 a ticket. You get access to all four parks: Knott's Soak City, Six Flags, and Hurricane Harbor! - You're welcome

For context, this is for my experience back in January 2024, my second or third visit to the park…read more For someone who loved thrill rides, it is indeed a coaster paradise (loved Tatsu, Full Throttle, X2 in particular). Couldn't get on Twisted Colossus due to size, barely got on Batman. But that isn't why I'm rating this low. No, I'm rating this low because of how the park responded to lost/found items. Fast forward to 2025 briefly; got a Disney pass, lost some Sunglasses on Splash mountain ride, got them back within the week, despite being lost on an obscure part of the ride. So what happened in January then? I was riding the dueling coasters based on cars. A fun concept, truly. Was really enjoying myself... until we stopped back into the station. I do blame myself for losing my phone after stupidly placing it in my back pocket of my pants; the phone slipped out during one of the loops in the second half of the ride, landing in an obscure part of the park below the tracks. However, I certainly do not blame myself for what happened after, but on the park: Once I got home 60 miles later, I uploaded the phone's location via Find My to the park's lost and found website, along with a link to a POV video where the loss approximately took place. A report was made shortly after. Fast forward to July of that year: I'm at my work's conference, and get a random text... from China. Evidently my phone was actually found at Six Flags, but was sold on some black market to be taken into China. Keep in mind: despite a report being made, no official response was made from Six Flags about the phone's fate. It's partially why I stopped visiting Six Flags altogether after my birthday in June... the Magic and thrill of visiting that Mountain died out, all because one bad customer service experience, and lack of due diligence. I certainly hope the lost/found experience had gotten better since the merger, but in case it hadn't? Let this be a warning, and god help you.

This ended my long day of back to back to back thrill rides, on a bad note. I was in the seat, they had to reset my restraints and it was looser and I said nothing about it because my glasses were in my jacket pocket and I was concerned about those getting smashed by the constraints. Before I boarded this ride, the train came into the station and the lady that was sitting in the seat I was about to get into, looked at me dead in the eye and said, "It's bad." I didn't even ask her!!?? I will say, her and I were definitely over 30 years old (maybe 40), so this is for my ladies of the 80's; just don't. You're not missing anything, in fact you're gaining your youth back just waiting for your party at the exit. Once on the ride it started off scary then went immediately into "I'm going down on this plane and going to die "-mode. My main complaint was the back of my head was slamming into the head rest and I left saying, "I have CTE I just know it," and it put me in a mood. The other attractions in the park, I experienced the head banging but it was the sides of my head not the back. If you're going to ride this ride save it for later. I will say, the wait time stated it was 90 minutes, but we only waited 45 minutes, at most, probably shorter and this was on a Saturday in January.

On Black Friday, the park was really busy and we arrived an hour before park opens. They were consistent on opening times. I would recommend just going to the park attendant to scan the pass as the "scan license" plate only takes one car at a time and the line looks like it is running slow. If you have Diamond or the Prestige All Park Pass, make sure you ask for the preferred parking. For preferred parking, just follow the cones and once you reach the attendant, they will take the slip away and they will guide you on where to park. One thing that change is there is covered parking with solar panels. I guess Six Flags wanted to take advantage of the solar credits. Once you make it to the gate, there is a line specifically for diamond/prestige pass members on the left hand side. This will allow you inside the park first at 9:45am. Once inside, you will need to wait behind a line and at around 10:15am, they will let you inside the park where you can line up. We usually head to Full Throttle as they only run 1 train and operations can be slow. They usually open the ride before 10:30am. After our first ride, we usually get a 2nd one. The rides opening at open are usually at hit or miss. On black Friday, the rides opened at around 11:30am and there are some rides that were closed this trip 1. Goliath - doing a paint job 2. Apocalypse - doing a refurbishment - they need to retrack the sucker 3. Superman - not so sure if this ride will ever open During the first Friday we went these were closed, but opened on the following Friday: X2, Ninja, Justice League and Riddler. For the Black Friday, you would think they would have most of the rides open as then lines ended up being 90 minutes or longer and the food lines were longer. On the next Friday, it was not so busy as the longest line was around 20 minutes which was awesome and got to ride a lot of rides. For Holiday at the Park, it is cool to walk the park at night. But dress up accordingly as it will get very cold. I highly recommend not riding roaring rapids at night as I got my pants and shoes soaked. The Jet Stream, not too bad, but I recommend riding Lex Luthor at night on both sides as the lights are awesome to see. The ride up is cold, but highly recommend. But yeah I would highly recommend taking an hour to do a full walk around the park at night time to take a look at the lights. Also, the DC characters do come out randomly and the looney toon characters come out near the front of the park. We did see Christmas characters come out and they do performances as well. They sometimes have a rock concert near Full Throttle. Food wise, I would recommend getting the Dole Whip. The ice cream is not icey and creamy now. This compares to the Disney one and I will always get one if I get to visit now. Food has been the same as last year though, hopefully with new leadership they will have better food. Here are the rides and my quick assessment as I rode most of them this time around 1. Full Throttle - this line is slow and long due to only 1 train only running. If you have a skip a line, use it on this one 2. Twisted Colossus - must ride, they were running 3 trains. Lines do move fast 3. Goliath - closed when I went, but I usually ride this one when I go 4. Batman - they maintained the ride well on this one. This one ran smooth 5. Wonder Woman - definitely a ride. They have free lockers and if there is no one in line easy to reride again. This is good when the park is dead. Can easily reride many times. Crew is nice 6. Riddler - this one got rough and lots of head banging. I got a headache 7. Gold Rusher - kids ride, but really rough 8. Crazanity - I skip this one as you can ride this at other Six Flags parks as this one gets a crazy line 9. West Coast Racers - line moves slow due to how the process is, but this ride has grown on me. Get rid of the comfort collars 10. Lex Luthor - must ride, it is one of the easier rides at the park 11. Jet Stream - they need to put more water as the boats rattle a lot and ride is rough 12. Roaring Rapids - fun ride, but your legs do get wet. I rode this 2 times and my feet and legs got wet 13. Tatsu - this line moves slow and has long lines. I usually skip this ride as this one gives me a head ache 14. Viper - skip this one for me as it is rough 15. X2 - used to be my favorite ride, but this one gotton a lot rougher that I need a breather after 1 ride 16. Revolution - this one is not too bad. The new trains make the ride smooth. I did not ride it this time around. 17. Ninja - not too bad I like to ride this once Overall an okay experience. Lots of what they can do better. At least they had rides open during the 2nd visit. Hopefully next year will be better.

My older loves animals, insects, and other non-human creatures so this place seemed perfect. We had been many years ago with our littles and they distinctly remember a giraffe so we figured their cousins would enjoy the experience too. We arrived at around 11 am on a Monday morning and found parking relatively easy- I think we were one of two families there which made it easy. There is a very small parking lot just outside the entrance and street parking. We entered through a really fun gift shop and made our way in. They have many exhibits of foxes, monkeys, birds, reptiles, and other small-to-medium sized animals to learn about. Each exhibit provided a learning display. We made our way through the "center" in just under two hours- really taking out time at each exhibit. Wr only noticed a couple of other families with littles as well, making it super easy to move through. While we say snakes foxes parrots and more, we don't see the giraffe . We did learn while we were there though that the giraffe was just visiting as it was being trained by the nextdoor business for television!!! Apparently that's a thing. Love L.A.! Ideal place for little kids! They have space for private parties, benches to enjoy a packed lunch (byobag situation), and a theater-education space where I believe they have events/activities, although we didn't see any. Pro-tip: sister purchase tickets on Groupon and saved money

It was also nice to hear of the center's efforts to help animals that had been in poor conditions due to wildlife trafficking. All of the staff members we encountered were friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed to enjoy their work with the wildlife. For around $16 a ticket, I will definitely be back and maybe looking into doing an individual animal experience!

Once you pull down the OTSR's, you notice something interesting about them. And that's because they feel just like a lapbar. They aren't bulky, they give a ton of room, it feels just like a lapbar! And honestly. I like it! It gives so much room. So yeah, SWEET! We then start to ascend the Superman tower. If you're facing right, you get a good view of DC Universe as well as a good view of Batman, Riddler's Revenge, Twisted Colossus, Scream and Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage. However, if you're facing the other side, you get a good view of Twisted Colossus, Goliath, Full Throttle, Revolution, Tatsu, Viper, and X2. But either way, you're getting a GREAT view. Now, back when Superman was open, a Superman car will dispatch and it will cause the tower to shake a little bit. No this does NOT mean the ride is unsafe, you're gonna be fine. This is a structural thing that is done with 90% of coasters. But yeah, it scares the crap out of the GP. And I'm sorry to be mean, but I find that to be HILARIOUS! However, Superman is now dead so you can no longer experience this feeling, which is a bummer! =( We eventually hit the top where Lex Luthor says some dialogue before laughing. We are then waiting in suspense for a few seconds before we eventually plummet 85 MPH straight down from 400 ft in the air. And yeah, this is awesome on its own. But if you do what I do and close your eyes and look straight down. It becomes INSANE! Almost gives you the feeling of the first drop on X2. Well... not quite.... but it's sort of similar. Eventually, we slow down to a crawl right as we hit the bottom, where we can't help but clap. So yeah, that's Lex Luthor. And yeah this is a GREAT drop tower! I definitely prefer it to Superman as it's currently one of the best drop towers that I've ridden. So STRONGLY recommend trying this out as it's a great ride and a must do for all drop tower enthusiasts! Just be careful because Six Flags could tear this ride out without any warning, especially now that Superman Escape From Krypton is closed forever!
