Their donairs and poutine are also really good. To top it off the service is great, and everyone that works here treats you as if you are an old friend. Downtown Dartmouth in my opinion is kind of meh in terms of take out food options (especially now that the canteens take out hours are weird/minimal..) so I'm glad to have The Hungry Hut as an option!

Sure, my boyfriend often opts for the poutine (which is stellar) and I like their subs, but the donairs are the main attraction. Rush Hour is run by a family and you can tell the dedication as soon as you enter the store. Family pictures are posted over the cash register and there's usually two or three members of the family floating around the kitchen. There's a counter installed along the front wall of the store, but I've never seen anyone eating there. There are two drawbacks to Rush Hour. One is that their pizza really isn't all that great. I've had much better pizzas, to be honest. The second is there is a criminal lack of parking spaces - most often, you have to park on the side of Windsor Street and hope that someone doesn't clip you coming through the intersection. A particular bonus is that Rush Hour has debit on delivery items - definitely a plus for people like me who rarely carry cash.

We decided to support local business, hold our breath, and take a chance on The Big Wedge!!! It's on Duffus St., but right at the end of Isleville St., and walking distance from the rec Splash Pad! I think it was just meant to be!! It was hot, it was delicious, and IT WAS A HIT!!! ALL party goers were impressed with the pizza!! Little kids (aged 1yr-8yrs) that don't usually eat their pizza literally ate the whole regular sized slice! The parents went back for seconds, and some of the older kids did too! After perusing their menu for a bit, we settle on a large deluxe, which comes with pepperoni, salami, onion, green Peppers, mushrooms, hamburger, bacon. This and a few cans of pop is a pretty reasonable $25, and I notice similar good deals on their menu. With my girlfriend living around the corner, I can definitely see us picking up some $11 pepperoni pizzas (pick-up only) in the future when the motivation to cook escapes us. We get the pizza after a short wait and decide to eat in the small restaurant. The pizza certainly looks good with cheese that is just slightly browned and fresh looking vegetables and islands of hamburger popping up. The flavour of green pepper and onion are the most noticeable with the salami and pepperoni bringing up the rear. The bacon and hamburger unfortunately don't register on my palate's radar and the sauce is not of note either. The crust is fairly thin and has a little crispness on the bottom and fluffiness on the outer crust. All in all, Dimitri's is your typical neighbourhood pizza joint - great, friendly service, middle of the road pizza, good prices and a location that can't be beat. I'll be back, Dimitri, unless the Pizza High Council bestows a closer location to a better pizziaolo.

It would be nice if they had specials once in a while--their "specials" have been listed on their website/menu as long as we've been ordering there, making them not-so-special and none are really a good value, either... I had previously tried and failed on the popular pizza night of Halloween, but better planning on a regular ol' Friday in the winter saw better success. Famously perched above TIBS, the pickup was easy while I chilled for a few minutes in their paper-plate-art-adorned space and marvelled at the insanity of walk-ins waiting for more than 45 minutes WITH THEIR KIDS! Call ahead people, it ain't hard! Somehow resisting having a slice in the car on the way home, I eagerly dug in once inside. For myself, I had ordered The Boss - onions, roasted peppers, sausage, feta, mozza and a tomato sauce. Is it Bruce Springsteen inspired? I don't care enough to Google it, but since we're living in the post-truth era, I'll just go ahead and say "sure". All jokes aside, this was a great pie - airy cornicione, lightly charred crust, and overall such a damn good flavour; herby sausage, salty feta, and the bite of onions backed up by the savoury roasted peppers, you'd be crazy to not like this pizza. My wife opted for The White, which I had also been eyeing up. Keeping it easy and cheesy, with parm, mozza and fior de latte, roasted mushrooms and green onions, Yeah Yeahs packed a lot of salty, savoury goodness onto this meatless pizza. One drawback was that my wife had ordered the gluten-free crust, which is only 12", and is priced the same as the regular 18" pies, which have more than twice the surface area. I get that gluten-free flours aren't cheap, but neither is meat and cheese, and compared to other GF pizzas out there, it felt...disproportionate. My next time there had me picking up their meat pizza for takeout. Once again, Yeah Yeahs checked a lot of the right boxes for a top notch pizza - a little bit of char on the airy cornicione, pleasantly chewy crust, and a nice balance of flavours in the quality toppings. As we've become more established in Dartmouth, we've been adding to our list of go-to spots, and Yeah Yeahs is right up at the top of the pizza category, thanks to their consistently great pies.

Still looking to try one of their weekend specialties one of these visits. It's right above Two if By Sea, which I would highly recommend for their croissants if you're making the visit.
