This is the first time I've had Haitian food. Now I am hooked. The owner is very friendly and personally brings out the food to you. We have been here twice . The first time my wife just ordered wings and fries and she loves the BBQ sauce. The chef also came out and gave a sample of the Griot. I was sold. Told him I'll come back to get the Griot. Went again just today and fulfilled my promise. The Griot plate is amazing! The salty fried pork with the spicy slaw is a great combination. The coconut flavored rice and plantains made a great compliment. Lastly the Mac salad gives it a creamy taste. I haven't tried any Haitian place to compare to but when I do try other places they have to stand up to this place. I highly recommend it.

Okay. If I'm going to tell my story I'm going to tell it to it's entirety! I honestly was not looking to eat anything from a food vendor tonight. I was going to eat raising cane and honestly it was because I wanted to drink thier lemonade and because I was going to be there grab food after a LONG day of work. As I was about to turn into raising canes by residence in I see. That all the food truck vendors were still opened for business. So instead I went straight and parked on the side. I walked the whole walkway, there was about 5 vendors BUT the pictures of the food looked so good I decided I'm going to get their shrimp or lemon pepper wings. They didn't have shrimp tonight so they made my decision a lot more simpler honestly and I wanted the lemon pepper wings plate that came with rice. They ran out of rice so I opted in for fries instead. MY FRiENDS get there fries! It wasn't oily, it was crispy and not soggy and just heaven! He gave the box to me still opened because it was fresh of course (I'll attach picture) and I ate a couple of fries and didn't dissapoint! Then I ate into my wing................perfection. I just was so impressed! Not only was the food good, the service was excellent. I'm going to assume that was the owner that came out with the food, he was amazing and made everyone feel good. The one customer in front of me stood there and talked stories for a while and she kept repeating how much she was amazed with the customer service which is the second reason I decided to eat here! I happen to stumble on them by pure accident, but they gained a new customer. And one day I'm going to bring my other half here and I'm going to try the shrimp(hopefully they got the rice) and he's going to try that plate that had different meats on it! PS I couldn't wait to eat the food I ate it in my car and now I'm content and I still got my lemonade! Lol

I have been waiting to try this Haitian food truck for months now but the timing never worked out. I was happy to hear they would be at the Cinco de Mayo block party downtown so paid them a visit. I got the griot which is citrus marinated pork that is fried. The plate also came with slaw, macaroni salad, red beans and rice, and fried plantains. At first the slaw was a bit too sour to me as it was piled on top the pork so that's mainly what I tasted. Once I could get to the griot underneath then the tartness of the slaw helped balance the richness of the fried pork. The pork instead was a bit dry inside but I liked the texture of the fried outside and it tasted yummy. The macaroni salad is not your typical local style version as the noodles are firmer and a different taste. The rice has a subtle flavor and would be nice if there were more beans. You almost never see plantains here so those are a treat. Nice to try different cuisines and I'm interested in their version of jerk chicken to have next time.

As a Haitian person, I've been craving a taste of home while visiting Hawaii. I was worried that, so far from home TK's would lack the ingredients for an authentic Haitian dish. However, I had nothing to worry about. We had the griot (pork) and oxtail plates- excellent. The rice had a subtly perfect coconut taste, the pikliz ( pickled slaw) was spicy enough to add a flavorful kick, and the banan peze ( fried plantains) were crispy and warm. A delicious meal and friendly team!

    Grilled pork, VERY GOOD

The chef is cool, he let me try a little of the pork and oxtail before I decide what to get!

Dry griot, bland plantains, and pikliz that have been sitting out until they're discolored

Community, I never do this, because I really try to support Caribbean owned businesses, but some things are unacceptable. I just had an experience with Tasty Kreyol food truck that was completely insane. I placed an order and was quoted 10-15 min. We were packing the car after the Hispanic Heritage Month event, so I went to get my food about 30-35 min later. I go to the window and I see the young man hand out an order to someone who ordered after me. I ask him about my order. He said they were going to start working on it now. I asked how that was possible if it had been more than 20 min past what he quoted me. I asked him if he forgot to put my order in and he admitted he had lost the ticket, but they would start a new order now. He went back in before I could respond and I waited. By the time it was 15 min past, I went to the window to just tell them to forget it, I wanted a refund. When I get to the front of the line and go to ask for the refund, he hands me the box. I tell them I want a refund and said the wait was ridiculous. A woman in the truck said "There's a line. What do you want me to tell you" in a *very* dismissive voice. I tell the young man I'm also a food vendor, and when the business makes a mistake, it's on us to rectify it with the customer. Then a man from inside who identified himself as the young man's father, starts screaming at me from inside the truck, saying they're not giving me shit and there's a line, and so what. At this point I'm completely in shock and I go and tell my husband what's going on, and this man comes out of the truck, screaming and coming at me as if he's going to hit me and then he tries to fight my husband and his employees hold him back. Long story short, no refund, and I waited nearly an hour for the driest, saddest, blandest griot I've ever seen in my life, with pikliz that's obviously been sitting out for a very long time as seen by the discoloration. The food was already cold (how, Sway?) and honestly even if I had gotten it in the original time frame, I would be *pissed* at having spent money on absolute garbage. If I had a dog, I wouldn't feed this to them. That's why I'm glad there is new diversity in the Caribbean food space, because when these places the only game in town for a long time, they get complacent and churn out trash because people don't know any better. Caribbean restaurants, we have a reputation for customer service that can be lacking, and the attitude here and there. But, if the place can't back it up with the food, this ain't it. You can't have bad service and bad food. Pick a struggle.

OMG! I did something, fam bam! I tried Haitian food for the first time When you make ungodly noises after taking a bite, you know that food hits! I tried the fried snapper plate (which came in a pan ) and the oxtail stew. Fried Snapper: The fry on the snapper was heavenly. The crispy skin paired perfectly with the flaky, tender, and juicy meat from the fish. The seasonings were remarkable. The rice and beans were full of flavor as well. The rice tasted like it had hints of adobo and chicken bouillon with maybe some parsley or thyme and pepper. Not sure what spices go into Haitian cooking, but it reminded me of the flavors of Puerto Rico. The rice and beans were delicious! And the slaw! Omg The slaw was fire, literally! There was an excellent spice level to it which I'm assuming was from scotch bonnet chilies. Last but not least, we can't forget the fried plantains. The fried plantains are addicting! I could eat them like chips and be happy Rating: 100/10 Oxtail Stew: This style of oxtail was so different from what I'm used to. It was milder in seasoning, which was a pleasant surprise. The meat was super tender, and the stew was simple yet tasty. If you asked me to describe the flavor, I'd say it would be as if you braised the oxtails in a tomato base with garlic and achiote. The oxtails paired well with the rice and beans and fried plantains. This plate of food is worthy of a chef's kiss Rating: 10/10 The owners are amazing and full of so much aloha. It was a true pleasure to meet you folks and try some of your excellent food! Be sure to follow @tastykreyol if you want to try some authentic Haitian food here on Oahu. P.S. It's almost lunchtime, so we'll be trying your jerk chicken shortly

As a Haitian-American visiting Honolulu, for the first time, I am always in search of Haitian food. This place is the REAL DEAL. And the food is sooooooooo FRESH. I had red snapper and the oxtail was PHENOMENAL. We ordered Haitian patties and it was good. Love the food. The staff were GREAT.

It was the first time I've had Haitian food and my goodness they have set the bar so high. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Just writing this review and thinking of their food is making my stomach grumble.

I've never had Hatian food so I was excited to try. I wanted jerk chicken, oxtails, and a beef patty. The young man told me they didn't have oxtails or beef patty so I just got jerk chicken. My order was ready pretty fast, maybe 5 minutes. I went right for the rice and peas and loved them, they had more flavor than the Jamaican rice and peas I've had with a slight spice. The jerk chicken had a good flavor, I think I may have liked it better if it was wings but it was still good. The plantain was fried perfectly. The only thing I'm not sure about was the mac salad, it wasn't local Mac salad which I'm fine with but I don't know really what it was, it was macaroni noodles and maybe oil or butter? I couldn't taste anything. The one less star is only because of the limited offerings, it'd be better if they just used a board with the days options than to have the whole menu and tell people what they don't have when they have already decided their order. But I'll visit again in the hopes of getting oxtail and a beef patty (I haven't had beef patty in so long!).

Stumbled upon this food truck when I was staying at the residence inn in Kapolei. The oxtail is really good! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Too bad this is my last night in Hawaii, hopefully get to try them when I come back

This food truck sells Haitian food. There location varies but I normally see them in the Ewa Beach/Kapolei area. I was fortunate to find them at Geiger Park in Ewa Beach on a Saturday. The owner was very friendly. He let us try the plantains and different flavors of chicken wings. We decided to try the fried pork dish called Griot. The owner recommended it. The Griot was delicious. The pork was crunchy and it came with a sauce with a kick. The dish also came with rice and beans, plaintain and mac salad. The owner mentioned that they didn't have the mac salad so he gave me more plaintains. The cost of a Griot plate was $13. It was well worth the price. They take cash and card. Overall, I recommend this food truck. There are no Haitian restaurant here so this is the only way you'll get Haitian food.

CUSTOMER SERVICE When an establishment makes you walk away feeling like family, I believe the ultimate level of customer service has been achieved. From the moment we approached the truck informing we were new they took care of us. Though we came 15min to closing and they were sold out of a lot of things, we still received superior service like sample plantains and fried pork while we waited.   FOOD Our group ordered the Red Snapper and Ox Tail stew. Both came with rice mixed with beans, and plantains. OH MY GOODNESS, it was very delicious. I have tired different plantains from multiple restaurants and this is the first one that makes me wanna 'slap my momma' it was THAT good. I'm not a fan of plantains but they made me a SUPER fan!   Red Snapper was a full pound (enough for two people), well-seasoned, and fried to perfection. My friend that had the ox tail really enjoyed the flavor, and tenderness of the meat.   RECOMMENDATION I highly recommend visiting this locally owned Haitian food truck if you're local to Oahu or on vacation. Don't miss the opportunity to try Haitian food in a non-commercial, but amazingly authentic delicious way! Our group is going to go back to try MORE food before we leave the island.   HOT TIP Get there early as they can sell out and you won't be able to experience the greatness of all their items.
