The menu is wide-ranging, both in terms of meats and other Argentine specialties. I ordered Andean pie, a dish I knew and loved from Chile (Pastel de Choclo), containing ground veal and some chopped vegetables covered with a mixture of chopped corn and chicken pieces. My wife had a strip steak with vegetables. We ate in the sidewalk cafe which had a wine dispenser from which you could choose your wine and have it poured into your glass. My wife had a 100 point Robert Parker (Wine Spectator) choice for a very reasonable price. We would eat here regularly if we were locals.

Beautiful ambiance and I wish I'd looked at staying at this hotel. The food was good, but not phenomenal. It was very well presented. My meal was better than my partner's although when we ordered different things (to try more of the menu) I had thought he got the better starter and the better main. His: mushrooms with cured egg yolk starter served with buttered & toasted pan de casa. Lamb main with purée sweet potatoes. Both of his dishes were nice but not amazing, and the starter was in desperate need of salt & pepper. Mine: slow cooked goat with pumpkin, main of Trout. Both were excellent. Dessert was lovely. Fresh strawberries with meringue & lemon sorbet, deconstructed chocolate cake (flourless?) with delicious mascarpone. I'm writing the last half of this review in retrospect after so much good food in the past week so I'm struggling a little remembering details. Wine pairing as I said was a bargain: $110ARS pp additional was 3 glasses of their better wines paired with the meal. The alfajores or whatever you call what came with the café after dinner were my favourite. They were perfect with their delicious dulce de leche centre.

Obviously the wine list was fantastic, even if not as lengthy as restaurants not tied to one bodega. We had a bottle of the Black Tears from Bodega Tapiz and it was outstanding. For lunch they offered a four course meal with two or three options for each course. My wife and I each chose different option so as to be able to taste twice a many dishes. From start to finish it was exceptional. Not only were the flavor profiles well conceived, the plating and presentation was superb. While not normally a big fan of desserts (I prefer my sugar fermented!), the pineapple carpaccio with marscapone cheese was out of this world. They also make their own olive oil on-site. The service was also extraordinary. It was a delicious yet peaceful meal in a laid back and picturesque atmosphere. If you are touring wineries in the area you should definitely try to get a reservation here for lunch.

We stayed in central Mendoza and it was only a six minute walk from our hotel. The inside has a gorgeous ambiance with several tables for two or four. It's very nicely decorated! We chose to go with the four course meal when making our reservation and it's a good thing we did because it was SO much food!! The food itself was excellent and the rib eye might be the best I've ever had. Each course was lovely and they did a great job of explaining the ingredients to us. We also got the wine pairing with each course. We ended the night with coffee and petit fours. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone going to Mendoza! It's delicious and reasonably priced for the quality and experience!

We opted for the four-course tasting menu. (The seven course option is just too much for me.) My wife had the wine pairings; I had a glass of fabulous local Cabernet Sauvignon with the main course. I assume the menu changes with seasons so I won't bore you with descriptions except to say that each was lovely. There was an emphasis on local dishes deconstructed and put back together by a Michelin one-star chef. All in all, it was a lovely meal, in beautiful ambience, with amazing service. And a very happy anniversary. One tip: the restaurant's website indicated they were fully booked. I sent a WhatsApp message and it turned out they indeed had a table available.

The neighborhood of Josefina is trendy and scattered with bars and pubs that make for an easy way home via bar-hopping, so that's a plus. It was walkable from our Air B&B, which was at the heart of central Mendoza. We had 8:00pm reservations, but being in a strange-time zone and early-eaters by nature, we decided to pop in early to see if they would accomodate us. Much to our pleasure, Josefina was open by 7:30pm (which is quite early for Mendoza!) and happy to accomodate us early. The interior is modern and cool in the way that you are captivated by the interior before you can even study the menu. Interesting lighting fixtures punctuate the ceiling and wallpaper of various food and culture themes tastefully adorn the walls. Our server was polite, professional and prompt. I began with a glass of sparkling rose and B enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc while we decided on entrees. The menu has descriptions in Spanish, English and Portuguese, which is always nice. I chose the mixed green salads with pomegranate, toasted almonds, tomato and asparagus dressed in a simple oil and vinegar. B chose the gnocchi with a mushroom cream sauce. They brough us out a variety of complimentary warm breads that far surpassed any offering of the sort we'd had before. There were several slices of each a whole wheat artisan bread, a focaccia with rosemary and tomatoes, quality dinner rolls and simple, fresh white bread. Our entrees followed immediately after (and quite quickly overall!). My salad was a generous portion and both dishes were visually pleasing. I devoured the fresh, crips salad and it was wonderfully light compared to the portions I had became accustomed to the prior week! The ripe pomegranate was a great contrast to the savory vegetables and the amount of dressing was just right. To say I was satisfied is an understatement. A note for veg-heads: The menu was limited for non-meat eaters, but there are a few dishes available and I am confident they would all be great! I would recommend this place to locals and visitors alike.

The menu has salads with warm shrimp or chicken, a dig a station of grilled provolone cheese, your usual meets with slight twists like a eggplant dip on top of your roasted potatoes with your steak. They bring a bread basket with two slices of tomato focaccia, two slices of a cherry wheat bread, one dense white roll and a slice if a soft white bread. It was served with a pickle aioli topped with shredded marinated carrots. Very light and fresh. We tried the empanadas (3 for $155) and they were made with chopped beef and lots of smoky paprika. It was almost too flavorful and great with the pickle aioli. The warm langoustine salad had only five langoustines (which were nicely seasoned and perfectly tender) but lots of arugula and frisée. The arugula was a bit overpowering versus the langoustines. It had 3 thin slices of grilled peach and 3 thin slices of avocado. It also had about 10 cherry tomatoes and two long homemade breadsticks. The salad was lightly dressed in a lemon vinaigrette. Very fresh, light salad. We also had the small ribeye with roasted potatoes topped with an eggplant spread and a small salad. All great flavors. We had asked for the ribeye to come without the cheese but they forgot. We took it off and ate it separately. Service was friendly and efficient. Certainly a modern version if an Argentinean steakhouse.
