Take out restaurant. My overall rating is based off my overall experience. I've been here multiple times. This particular visit I had their jerk steak bowl. I ordered my meal over the phone and it was ready when I got there in about 10 minutes. Overall the bowl was a three out of five for me because it's as if they poured the jerk sauce over the rice and steak prior to melting the cheese on top and it was too much. If they actually marinated the steak in the jerk seasoning or sauce that would've been fine for me. When you over saturate your food with sauce you can't actually taste the food. I will go back. So I decided to try this place over the jerk man, mistake. I got one jerk shrimp, on honey mustard. The good: your rolls are made to order, not greasy, with a good balance between crispy and chewy. Bad: Both were high on salt, low on flavor and hollow empty roll. But in their defense their rolls are only $4-5 dollars each. So, I'm not to mad. My fiancé and I came here Monday. We ended up spending about $42. we ordered seven eggrolls and one of the Obama eggrolls. We both agreed the Italian beef eggroll and the garlic Parmesan chicken were our favorites. He really liked the Obama eggroll, it was too spicy for me because it does have jalapeños. The Philly steak one was also very good. Our least favorite was honey mustard. That just tasted like a Mc chicken cut up in an eggroll and we did not really like that one. It had kind of a burnt chicken taste to it and very little honey mustard flavoring. I would definitely return. I want to try their tacos, wings and some of their rice bowls. read more

Didn't know food was outside time said 5:30 to 5:50 no call or adidn't get my sour cream first time ordering from them poor service

My rating is 99.9% based on the exceptional customer experience. I am an Event Manager by profession and come from a family of successful caterers and restaurant owners. I arrived on a busy Saturday evening. It was my 1st visit so I ordered the "Obama", "Philly chicken", and "Shrimp". The wait time was about 20min or so but that's expected because it's made to order. As soon as we hit the expressway my sisters and I starting breaking the rolls in 1/2 so that we could all taste a little. Each one was piping hot! I love that, it confirms the freshness. The Philly chicken was an immediate fan favorite! Absolutely delicious. The Obama delicious and definitely spicy!! If you can't handle the heat keep it out of your mouth! LOL. I broke open my shrimp roll and it was gyro meat. Sadness. We were already on the expressway and I told my sis she had to turn around. When I brought it back in and explained what happened the gentleman behind the glass was gracious and apologetic. That goes a long way with me. He said they'd fix it. Not 1 minute later he returned and asked what other roll I would like because they wanted to make it up to me. I quickly thanked him and said "Philly chicken" (because duh it's delicious!) To my disappointment they had just sold out! Sadness. So I asked for the garlic parm. No sooner did I sit in the window to wait, another gentleman walked out, perhaps the owner/manager also apologizing graciously. This means a lot to me because as a small business owner I understand and respect the need to care for your customers, and respect when other owners do the same. To my surprise not only did they give me 1 extra egg roll, they gave me TWO! They've just gained a repeat customer and I will share this great experience with others. Today was my first time ever going to the restaurant. It's like a little hole in the wall type place, that I would have never tried, if it wasn't for tik tok lolll. The service was quick and fresh. There wasn't a lot of traffic in the place, so that gave points on my overall experience. I ordered the jerk chicken egg roll and the large regular fry, with mild sauce. Overall, the food was okay. Nothing was awful, but also nothing stood out either. The jerk chicken eggs roll, was very flavorful. It was filled with a lot of chicken, and the jerk spice was coated on everything. The size of it was, like the traditional egg rolls you get from Chinese food restaurants. The fries were okay. They were regular fries. Most comparable to fries from Nicky's Gyro. Just with mild sauce on them. The price for these items, was around $8. Which may seem minuscule, but I don't think the food was worth the price of the meal. For just one egg roll, it's $4-$9 (depending on the kind), which I think is ridiculous. But I get it, inflation. My experience wasn't a bad one, by any means. Okay I have been waiting for a Friday to try what I hope to be a food experience. First let me start with the service. Well I'll suggest that the young man behind the glass enroll in some customer service training. Since it was the start of the day (lunchtime) I'll give them a pass. You should greet your customer I believe it sets the tone for the food experience. There's not ambiance to the place but it was clean and roomy for the customers. Now for the food. I ordered a jerk chicken egg roll and a jerk steak egg roll. Both were hot out of fresh oil and were golden brown and filled with meat and vegetables. Both came with a sweet sauce, I asked for ranch but was told I couldn't switch sauces. First the jerk chicken egg roll. The chicken was moist, plentiful and so were the vegetables inside. However the chicken had way too much salt. I mean enough salt for two. This took away from the jerk sauce, and that jerk taste that I was looking forward to. I thought maybe it was just the chicken but, the jerk steak had the same outcome over salted. I won't say I'm going to rush back I'll simply say what could have been a new experience turned into a salty taste! read more

My brother always says "if you see police cars parked outside they must be good" .... Please, it was 2!cars parked outside, 2 postal workers and a CTA driver inside ... need I say more .... The jerk chicken, my favorite, was off da chain... so flavorful and packed with shrimp. Service: Though it was packed service was fast and efficient. I think my egg-roll search has concluded with Tastee & tbh this is a top contender but in the same vein I wasn't impressed. The rolls are on the smaller side but as far as outstanding flavor is concerned they simply don't have it. I will say that if I had to choose it'd be the chicken variations & although the jerk isn't super spicy it's still not the worst I've had in the city. The prices are fairly decent & everything is made to order to the best of my knowledge. One redeeming quality is the fact that my food was piping hot when I received it. I'm partly to blame because I also ordered something weird which was the jerky shrimp fries. Also the shrimp is super tiny like I didn't know shrimp came this small. My order came out in about ten minutes from ordering but I doubt there was enough incentive to make me a repeat customer. read more

I just happened to be passing on 79th Street when this place caught my eye. I knew of an egg roll place on the Westside, but none around close to where I live. I stopped in on Saturday and the waiting area was clean. The service was adequate, but the egg rolls were delicious. My mom really enjoyed the Jerk Chicken egg roll and there were no complaints from my husband on the Italian Beef rolls. I personally enjoyed (to my surprise) the Gyro egg roll! It was really good. I also had the fries, which are freshly cut and made to order. If you are ever south, check em out. read more

I only come for the jerk chicken rolls. I've tried other kind but they don't compare in taste. I've had the nachos but I find it odd they use shredded cheese. Handcut fries are okay, they aren't always fresh. The "mild sauce" isn't mild sauce, it's a bbq/ketchup mixture and being that this is Chicago, I don't know why they are playing in people face with that. I would recommend that they get rid of the cheese that apparently comes in all the premade rolls. Not only is it a preference and/or allergy issue, but cheese on a particular roll can be absolutely disgusting, like the jerk shrimp roll. EW. Customer Service is Five Stars though. read more

I originally wanted to go across the street to the jerk spot next to Dukes but usual they had no wings available. At 4pm. So instead of following my first mind and just got going to another jerk spot, I Decided to try this place and was sorely disappointed. Yes it was clean inside, and the food was hot. But that was the best part of the restaurant. I ordered the grilled chicken tacos, chicken egg rolls and fries. The tacos were greasy and cooked like hood tacos and the jerk chicken egg rolls tasted more like jerk flavor instead of being seasoned correctly. The home cut fries were good though. I was referred to tastee rolls by someone, I love the creativity of different flavors of eggrolls so I decided to try them. I ordered 3 jerk chicken and 1 philly steak and was very disappointed, for one I called and had to leave a order by voice message, then I get to the restaurant and the young lady was sitting down so no call back to take my order. So I ordered and when I got to work the rolls were soooo dry, not fresh AT ALL! good taste but very dry and I waited a good 20 minutes for the order and they weren't fresh, so this is the reason for my 2 star review. read more

Just wanted to support a local business especially during this pandemic, but I was sorely disappointed by my experience. Tried the jerk chicken egg rolls and the Philly cheese steak egg rolls during what was both my first and last visit to the restaurant. The jerk chicken egg rolls were very dry and also caused me to be nauseous for whatever reason. I could not even finish eating one. I decided to give the Philly cheese steak egg roll a try but was disappointed with it as well. It was lacking flavor. My experience with this restaurant was underwhelming at best. The food was hot, but the food was not good at all. Got the shrimp egg roll and it was like a pound of salt and jerk seasoning. Also it literally was just shrimp and cheese. The vegetarian egg roll wasn't much either. I will say it was nothing but peppers and cheese. I don't know why people said it was good, they probably were high or use to eating heavily salted foods.
