I attended a Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce event here and really enjoyed the experience! The place was a little tricky to find at first since it's tucked between warehouses, I totally missed the sign on the curve, but once you get there, you'll find plenty of parking and a clean, airy space. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They went out of their way to accommodate my allergies, and I learned they even have a gluten-free menu! It seems like they're happy to adjust for any dietary needs, which is always a big plus. I ordered the steak breakfast burrito,it was delicious, well-priced, and super filling. I couldn't even finish it, so it became my lunch too! They also have some of their products available for purchase if you want to take a little something home. Lunch is served buffet style, and they're offering a fun holiday-themed buffet on Thursdays for just $15. Our office uses Taste occasionally for our catering needs. Amazing food. Employees are very polite. Especially the young lady at the cash register. Very sweet and respectful. We were there yesterday to try out their artichoke chicken and medallion steak. They ran out of both meats when we arrived. We had been working with Taste Catering for over a year ahead of my wedding. I chose a venue that was a clubhouse so they didn't come with any services. Taste Catering is basically an all-in-one company that allowed us to turn the club house into our dream custom wedding venue. We went for a Fall theme with custom DIY decorations. I worked directly with Lisa on everything and she was absolutely wonderful! We thought their pricing was fair, especially since they went out of their way to provide me everything that we were needing! The food was absolutely delicious!!! We used Taste's catering service for a birthday party for our father. He turned 100 years old. We ordered the Taco Grill and beverage service for 33 people. They arrived right on time, set up efficiently and were ready to go by the time the party began. As you can imagine, this was an old crowd and some of them needed a little help to navigate the food line. The staff did a fantastic job serving and providing any aid necessary. The food was delicious and plentiful. There was more than enough. The cake they provided was delicious and there was enough for about 45 people. Pricing was excellent. We feel we got great value for the money. After the party, they cleaned up thoroughly. I am giving them 5 stars, but I would give them 10 if I could. I highly recommend them. read more

When people ask me what I recommend for catering.....the answer is always taste catering. I've been coming here for years - they do a lunch menu that is amazing. You will NOT leave hungry and the food is good. They post the menu online under their "warehouse menu". Throughout the years, the price has increased - I believe it's $13 now. But the food is so good and worth it. You can tell they take great pride in the food they're making and the chefs like to experiment with their creations sometimes. They make the best gravy I've ever had in my life - and as someone who doesn't really love turkey/thanksgiving, I'd eat that meal everyday for the rest of my life if it was made by Taste catering. They're very responsive and prompt with their services - I've used them to cater for events such as baby showers and the food is always a hit. They "sniff in" at 4.5 stars... The superstars are the desserts and breads but they do many things very very well. The SAUSAGE STUFFING with barely tart CRANBERRY SAUCE was yum city USA. The COCONUT/Choc chip bar (I think I recall it right) was soft and delicious and up to medium sweet. The CARROT CAKE with walnuts and golden raisins (thankfully very few) was on another level. The cinnamon frosting side was yum too but not essential given how great the cake already is. Very moist and tasty and fresh tasting. The ham was better than the chicken but both are pretty good. Not the moistest but good flavor. The soft bread (not sourdough thank you very kindly) with garlic butter (or herb butter) was very tasty and had great texture. They catered a Christmas lunch for us which made for a great time and meal. We utilized them last year as well but it appears I forgot to Yelp it. read more

Review for service/generosity in their in-house cafe I walked in today (the day after Christmas) for a coffee while waiting for my car to be serviced nearby. This was by far the closest place and had wonderful reviews! I walked in, and they had their door open... but no one was around. I quickly was greeted by a sweet lady named Lisa who shared that they were actually closed/had reduced hours for the time between Christmas and the New Year. She quickly followed up with "but I know how to make coffee!". She welcomed me to sit inside, made a delicious espresso, and insisted I didn't pay for their service. I've never been treated with such hospitality and generosity. It was a truly welcomed surprise and I will absolutely be coming back. I did an Italian buffet by choosing two salads, two pastas and two chicken dishes. The dishes were flavorful, held up well over the course of the event and complemented each other well. Salads: Caesar and spinach/Strawberry Feta Pastas: Angel Hair Margarite and creamy pesto penne Protein: chicken Marsala and chicken piccata For appetizers I ordered a veggie tray and some puff pastry bites. I recently hired Taste for a Sunday afternoon event for approximately 250 people. They are truly a one stop shop for events and exceeded my expectations on every level. From my initial inquiry to the last bit of clean up at our event, they were flawless. Also, every single employee I encountered from start to finish was warm and professional. The food was delicious. I was given a tour of the kitchen at our first meeting and there was not a single jug of premade anything as they make everything from scratch including their dressings and marinates. I was even able to taste some of their flavors in advance as they offer a daily lunch in their cafe. The communication was amazing. Every email or phone question I had was responded to in a timely manner. After I shared some thoughts about the event, they got back to me with a suggested menu which was a great starting point for me to make changes and additions. I felt guided throughout the entire planning process. They own a huge stock of rentals including tables, linens, umbrellas and more which made it super convenient not to contract with an outside company. They also have a top notch sound system and staff to operate it. They offered to make a playlist from their library or use our own device. We opted to use our own, and there were no technical difficulties. They provide floral centerpieces and arrangements in house. I can not stress enough how beautiful and appropriate the flowers were. I actually had people request the name of the florist. Aside from the quality of everything Taste provided, I am so grateful for the convenience the offer as well. So, just an amazing business! I met Greg the owner at the nearby pitching lesson warehouse in Lake Forest. The pizzas are amazing, Great White and Spicy Pepperoni are my faves! And the food was truly SO incredible - everybody raved about the quality of the food!! Truly everything was great though, and you can't go wrong - their salad, cookie platter, dessert bars, chicken, roasted veggies - all phenomenal. A fantastic caterer that does everything well. I work close by and we cater food from here almost every chance we get. The service is superb and the food is delicious. They also offer daily lunches in their warehouse. Check their website for a monthly calendar of what's going to be served. Their taco Tuesday is one of my favorites. For $9.95, you get 6 tacos and a full self-serve salsa and sides bar. It used to be all you can eat (I'd average 14 a visit), so having a hard cap of 6 is a bit disappointing, but at roughly $1.66 a taco, it's still a decent deal. Meat options are carnitas, steak (carne asada), and chicken. The carnitas is my personal favorite, as it's fork tender and just falls apart and melts in your mouth. The crispy edge pieces are also delicious. The steak and chicken are juicy and flavorful. Customize your tacos with rice, various salsas, cheese, chips, and beans. For catering options, they have such an expansive menu designed to satisfy any palette, dietary restrictions, or party size. They always show up on time during their scheduled window and set up everything for us with no issues. Price point is on par with other catering but I feel this is better food.. Enjoyed the great "taste" from Taste Catering at the City of Lake Forest City Council meeting. We had a spring mix salad with pumpkin seeds, pasta with roasted veggies, and chicken piccata. Great flavor on each dish. Fresh greens for a healthy salad. Roasted veggies includes carrots, bell peppers, zucchini, and mushrooms in a red sauce pasta. They were extremely helpful in assisting me with choosing what food would be the best fit. Their delivery was on time and extremely thorough. The food was impeccable. I am currently participating in a clinical trial in Cypress and Taste is our caterer. 90% of our meals are pretty horrific at best. Stale chicken skewers with peanut sauce for instance. You walk up to this industrial complex where there is a man cooking street tacos outside and you walk inside the building and pay to your right.
