In December 2010, I contacted Carcano DJ / Chivari Chairs 4 Rent for possible DJ, Lighting and Chiavai chair services for our September wedding. Mike explained to me that September is a very popular month for weddings and my weekend was a "prime weekend." He pressured me to book quickly because he had so many other people interested in our date. I didn't ike his sales tatics, so we contracted another vendor for DJ and lighting services. In February, after doing some research, I found out Carcano DJ was the least expensive for Chiavari chairs in OC, so I contacted him again. This time he told me that if I wanted to rent his chairs, he would need payment in full more than 7 and a half months before the wedding because my date was a "prime weekend." I was also told I paid him in cash, he would reduce the cost. When I told him I didn't like the way he was pressuring me and I was going to tell my friends and family (some of which who are meeting planners) about my experience, I received the following email: "I just forwarded your e-mail to my attorney. If it is your goal to slander my name, hurt my business and do things that will not allow me to make a living for my family, I will have every right to come after you for damages. Orange County is a very small community. We as vendors know each other extremely well and things get back to me all the time. Be extremely careful with what you say and who you say it to." Let's just say I used another vendor and the additional $0.25 per chair was WELL worth it! If you read the rest of my reviews, you will see that I don't give poor reviews lightly. Everyone else I worked with was professional and very easy to work with and I never had a problem securing my first choice vendors for my "prime weekend" wedding date. 5/9/13 Update - I wrote my original review back in October 2011. In January of 2012, I was harassed by this company because of my review. I was told that they would use the personal information I provided in my consultation against me if I did not remove my review. He then went on to contact each of the vendors from my wedding (or the vendors he thought I used) to try to bad mouth me and have them contact me to remove the review. I am updating my review now because Mike reported me to Yelp for having my review here and on his Carcano DJ page. They are the same company, with the same phone number and the same address. I would like to be clear. Mike is correct, I never contracted with this company. My review was based off contacting him as a possible vendor and the experience I had. And I looked around in the area but prices were high and some didn't have enough chairs. We married in October, 2012 and used Carcano DJ Audio Visual & Lighting for: 1) DJ 2) Lighting (Uplights, Dance Floor & Gobo) 3) Chairs (Chivari) 4) Flooring (White Dance Floor) As a quick summary, everything came out spectacularly and we couldn't have been happier! Mike, Jason, Stefani and the entire team really went above and beyond our expectations! For those interested, I have provided the details below. With about 2 months left to go before our wedding, we were still scrambling to find a DJ (originally I was just going to have my iTunes plugged in and have someone manage that but am I glad my wife talked me out of it!) and luckily stumbled across Mike Carcano and his team through the "Preferred Vendor" list of our venue. We scheduled an appointment right away and they were very accommodating as they were happy to meet with us in their offices after work hours. We met Mike that evening, and my first impression was that he came off a bit "Sales-ish" (after all, this is a Sales business) but after spending more time with him, I realize he is genuine and just wants the best for you on your special day. A lot of the recommendations he had for us (Gobo Lighting, White Dance Floor, etc.), I was hesitant on at first, but I'm so glad that I followed his instincts as these little touches really made the night that much more beautiful. In terms of pricing, we were able to negotiate a price I thought was beyond fair (I think in part is because he owns so much of the equipment already, but I also believe it was because he really wanted us to have the best and was willing to work with our budget to make it happen). Throughout the process, we exchanged tons of E-mails. Mike or Stefani were always extremely prompt in replying to our numerous questions and demands. We also met in their office a couple more times and again, they were always willing to accommodate our schedule and offered to meet as many times as we needed to feel comfortable. On the actual day of, Jason was our DJ and Stefani was running things behind the scenes. Needless to say, everything came off perfectly and we received so many compliments from our guests regarding the ambiance. Most importantly, Mike and his team were VERY respectful of all our wishes. They played ALL the music we requested and were even very supportive in incorporating some geeky elements we wanted to use to personalize the wedding. Furthermore, we had an extremely tight schedule and they did a fabulous job of staying on top of it as well as being flexible to numerous changes throughout the night. And as a surprise thank you gift to us, they even burnt copies of all the wonderful music from the night so we will always have those as a keepsake! Overall, I could not recommend Mike and his team enough!!! They were professional but at the same time made you feel so warm and welcomed, it was as if you were all close friends or family. They offered an amazing price for the quality and amount of service they provided. And finally, they are a local family business that sincerely cares about their customers. My only regret is that this is a once in a lifetime event (hopefully!) but I will definitely be looking to use them for any future party I have and I will never stop recommending them to friends and family! I contacted Chiavari Chairs 4 Rent after I saw a photo they posted on Instagram tagged with the location of my wedding venue, Diamond Bar Center. Their caption on the photo mentioned that they moved the chairs from the ceremony outdoors to the reception indoors, which is exactly what I had wanted to do. After talking to Debbie about our day-of schedule, I ended up scrapping that plan and ordering 1 set of outdoor chairs and 1 set of indoor chairs to minimize stress and the need to rush. Debbie gave us an excellent price for everything. She showed me photos of the different chair and cushion colors so it made it easy for me to color coordinate. Mike rocks!! These guys gave me a great price on two sets of chairs: one for the ceremony site and a second one for the reception. Their price was so good, I could not say no. But, it also made me nervous. ... Why is the price so good?! Well, the chairs were set up on time and they were all in perfect condition (as they wrap them individually to move them)! Mike also did the lighting for our wedding. I had actually asked for one color, but walked into the event and it was another (purple - which was actually one of my primary colors). I would have never thought that color would look good/be cheesy, but Mike clearly knows what he is doing as a handful of people commented on the lighting and set-up at the wedding and after the fact, too. He made a regular dining hall room look incredible!!!! It really highlighted the flowers, linens, and desert table in the room!! It made everything come together!!
