VEGAN NEVER TASTED SO GOOD ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE NOT VEGAN! Ack, why doesn't my town have one of these fantastic dining places? Or better yet, why doesn't EVERY town have one? No guilt, just healthy for you, the planet, and of course Miss Piggy and her friends. And, the food is ultra-delicious! I had coconut potatoes-0h baby she moaned-and hunny hunny had lentils and eggplant to faint over. Come to Ukiah and try! read more

Food is super good but I want to highlight their dessert! The brownies they make are soooooo bomb! I will literally make a visit just for their brownies! read more

I love them! Best veggie burger in Ukiah. They are a little over priced but the veggie burger is worth it.

I love this place. The food is always tasty and it's super kid friendly. I loved Tastebuds before I stopped eating meat and dairy but now it's my first choice when I want something fast, delicious, and free of animal products. It's a bonus that the food is organic. I can't say enough good things about Tastebuds. read more

If I lived in this area, I would become a regular at this restaurant. I am not vegan or even vegetarian, but I could eat at this restaurant multiple times in a week. I tried the eggplant, the chick peas, the summer squash veggies, the pumpkin, the forbidden rice, the other rice, the bbq tofu. i was crazy about the bbq tofu. You can tell that the food is made with a lot of intention and love. The staff is very friendly. It's nice that your dollar can also stretch pretty far here, while being great quality healthy food. read more

Overall, this place has some amazing potential, and is doing things not very many locations in Northern California are; including the Bay Area which is known for its plethora of vegan/vegetarian food. However, there's certainly room for improvement. We ordered a 5 pc combo plate and taco salad. To start, I feel like a lot of the food is overpriced. Maybe it's a reflection of the rent in Ukiah on Main Street, but over $15 for a veggie combo plate and over $12 for a salad at a casual dining restaurant doesn't feel like you're getting great perceived value for what you purchase. Our combo plate included BBQ tofu, black eyed peas, vegan "beef" curry, kale, and Jamaican rice and peas. The BBQ tofu, curry and rice were all seasoned excellently and cooked skillfully. However, the kale and black eyed peas we could have done without. They leave their stems on their kale which makes it incredibly woody and unpleasant to eat and the black eyed peas needed some major seasoning. The taco salad we ordered was excellent. The dressing was super tasty and the veggies all really fresh and delightfully crunchy. My only other suggestion food-wise would be to have some epic hot sauces on the table. They had one green hot sauce which was pretty good, but I'd love to see more. Things took a turn however when the cashier rang our order wrong. I didn't notice when I signed the receipt because the total seemed correct for what we ordered, but in the middle of our meal she approached us and told us she didn't charge us for one full entree. I was confused, how was our bill $28 if she only rang us for a combo plate with 2 drinks? She had to go investigate and found she randomly charged us for French fries. She came back telling us she had reversed my charge and they would need to charge my card again. If this has ever happened to you, you'll know why it's a pain in the butt. Most banks don't actually refund the reversed charge for almost a week, so you have 2 charges on your statement for that long. My annoyance wasn't in the fact that there was a mistake made. Believe me, as a long-time restaurant employee I know when it gets busy, and you're ringing in dozens of orders, this happens. But wait...it wasn't anywhere near busy. There was one small order before us and that was it. On top of it, I tipped her initially. Although the cashier was kind, in the end, there should just have been more care applied to our order and payment. With the large selection I know I'll be back to give them another try. read more

Taste Buds - 5 piece combo plate with vegan curry, black eyed peas, kale, Jamaican rice and peas, and BBQ tofu. Around $16 with tax - Vegan Near Me - Willits, California

Amazing. The buffet is such a great deal - two of us split the 5-item combo and still had some left over. The jerk tempeh is pretty much to die for. read more

Best food in town whether you are vegan, gf, or have no food restrictions at all. Everything here is amazing including their speciatly drinks. The service is always top notch. I've been here over 10 times and it's always consistently wonderful. Love this place! read more

Love this spot! Tasty vegetarian food that leaves your belly feeling good. Rich in veggies, light on oil and salt. They also make really tasty drinks including a yummy herbal drink similar to Mexican Jamaica, can't think of the name right now. They have nice desserts too! I always stop here anytime I'm passing by Ukiah on the 101 I like it so much. read more

I'm from the bay area, stopped in Ukiah for the night during a road trip. It's the 4th of July so finding food this morning presented itself as a challenge. Especially with my dietary restrictions. I couldn't believe my flippin eyes when I drove past taste buds. I flipped a U and stalked their Yelp for a minute. I had to ask the guy working to help me out because I wanted to order everything on their menu. I ended up getting a three item with orange chicken, mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy, and green beans. So the food was super yummy and I was surprised at how good the gravy was because I hate gravy. I really wish I lived closer to this place, I'd probably eat here everyday. read more

Ok so first I would like to start out by saying I'm new to being vegetarian. So I am trying places I wouldn't normally to satisfy my new diet. I ordered a grilled cheese and fries and a veggie burger with cheese and side salad. Fries were really good. I really enjoyed the veggie burger very flavorful. Salad was ok to. The grilled cheese was uh just ok. Overall a good experience. Down points the price 23 dollars felt a little steep for just this basic meal no drinks included. We ordered ours to go. But the inside yikes it was 100 degrees outside and inside their building. Glad I got it to go bc at that price and no ac they would of probably received less stars. I will be back for the veggie burger and fries. read more

Good food. Chill vibes. Reasonably priced. Ordered a 3-item plate with BBQ Tofu, cabbage, and rice. All flavorful & filling. Don't forget the juices as well; tried a few all tasty as well. I'll be back; maybe see you there... read more

Not even vegan and still thought their food was great! And their forks have a cool rose on them.

You know your food is amazing when you write a yelp review in the parking lot after you just scarfed down an amazing veggie burger! Two thumbs up! This will be my new stop through when I work up this way! read more

I love going here for lunch when I'm in Ukiah. Good, vegetarian/vegan options. Senior discount for my mom is great too.

I love this place! The food is organic and mostly gluten free. The menu varies, and I've never been dissatisfied. The 3 item plate is quite large and reasonably priced. read more

I could freaking eat at Tastebuds every day and I am not vegan, or even vegetarian for that matter. This is my favorite Ukiah restaurant by far. I love getting to mix and match foods. The rainbow bowl is delish! Even my meat-loving husband loves Tastebuds. It is a little bit pricey, but this is slow food and it is legit. No GMOs and you feel amazing after you eat here. Spice is nice! read more

I will eat here when I travel this way. This place is awesome. Great taste, very healthy food, nice people.

This place was not for me. From the lukewarm tap water flavored with fresh strawberries and ginger root, to the crusty, old looking mac n cheese and other items on display, I was not impressed. The reggae music playing was annoying and my sandwich had no flavor. I am not a vegan nor a giraffe so the food is not to my taste. I applaud the friendly staff and their attempt at offering fresh, healthy food. I'm sure die hard hippies love the place, but it's a no go for this girl next door. read more

This Caribbean vegan place is a multi items combo station type of place where one need to choose the main/side items for the meal. The food is delicious with great Caribbean flavors. They do have nice variety of juices(not your typical apple/orange type boring options) , shakes, coffee, chai and desserts as well. Food is fresh and still no wait time, the place is not a fine dining luxury option though but if you are bored with regular burgers/noodles/steaks then do visit this place for the love of food and for the support of vegan-ism read more

Great restaurant! Food was fantastic and felt home made. They were very child friendly, even have a few toys to play with for the little ones. Mashed potatoes were awesome (the kids wanted seconds) and I loved the tofu curry. We will definitely come back! read more

Hands down, the best food in the area. Their vegan, gluten free food and Jamaican spices are amazing in addition to their staff being incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I rarely have allergy friendly food options when I travel and was so excited to stumble across this spot. read more

Great food! I just wish the young women they have working the register were more friendly and courteous.

Organic vegan awesomeness. Super friendly staff. Food was delicate to the palette but totally satiating and substantial. Some vegan food feels like you are eating bird seed. Although the menu has a fair share of seeds and nuts this is a place to take a meat eater and watch them drool over the vegan delights. Recommend the tempeh rueben, raw kale salad and the curried potatoes. Honestly though you can't go wrong. This place has reggae vibes and flushes with locals. As I was totally welcomed by visitors. I'll make a point to stop back. read more

Friendly staff and really good fresh food! I love how everything is delicious and healthy. I don't feel guilty eating out here.

Delicious, fresh, good environment. Vegan. We love this place and the folks who run it.

I can taste the love!!! The burgers and fries are The Best Ever!! The warm food in the counter is epic! I love the desserts as well! Yum! This restaurant has simply the best vegan food I have had -- very delicious. The food is all take out and includes a steam table filled with grain dishes, vegetable dishes and protein dishes. I'm not a big fan of mock meats, but I highly recommend trying the mock chicken. They usually have more than one "chicken" dish to try. Also, the rice and beans are very good. They also make sandwiches and appetizers which I have not tried yet. I highly recommend this restaurant and I can't believe it's in Ukiah. read more

Very tasty vegetarian food! I especially loved the authentic jerk seasoning, and the various stews. The menu options are a nice way to accomodate varying budgets and appetites. My pregnant girlfriend was enthralled by the nettles chlorophyll beverage, which tasted like a nice tea and is super healthy for her. I am really looking forward to trying the tempeh reuben and other drinks and desserts (the coconut cream pie sounds phenomenal!). read more

I am loving this place, i do not live in Ukiah but work there, and i consider this place the best investment for my health; its tasty, selections are wonderful, and i just tasted the best chocolate cinnamon vegan cookie! It's about time there was a great delicious VEGAN fast food place. Everything we tried was perfectly seasoned and spiced. I want to try everything on their menu. This place is WAY too good for the likes of Ukiah. The only disappointing thing is that they don't have a second restaurant in Santa Rosa where we live. read more

This small take-out spot has excellent vegan food that isn't missing any flavor. Don't be alarmed by the steam tables, the food is fresh and rotates. I ordered a medium plate which consists of two scoops of rice, beans, and/or quinoa, and the choice of five scoops of the other 12 or so options. My favorites were curry potatoes, and stewed pumpkins. Even the rice and beans were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The meal was filling and healthy, and I didn't miss any of my usual meat and cheese based lunch options. This is worth a visit. read more

Bomb vegan food, great customer service. They have some of the best desserts (my boyfriend who is very much not vegan loves them).

Good option if you're in a hurry since you can get a combination plate for items already cooked. If you can do spicy, definitely have to get the jerk tofu. Lentil, kale, and pasta salad are other good items that come to mind. I'm not a big fan of faux meat stuff but they do season them well here if that's your thing. Items do rotate daily so no jerk tofu everyday. read more
