I've never given a one-star review before. Congratulations on being so horrible, Tasca i Vins!
After spending the morning doing touristy things at the park, my partner and I were starving. We wandered aimlessly looking for a lunch spot, and Tasca i Vins seemed to fit the bill. The visit started out fine; we were seated promptly by a cheerful hostess in a back room that looked like the inside of a log cabin.
A large party with small children arrived shortly after us, and one of the kids accidentally knocked an empty glass off of our table. The adults apologized, I said it was ok, no harm done. The server moved us to another table, but no one ever came to clean up the broken glass. This set the tone for the rest of the visit.
1. Our server was friendly and chatty with other patrons, but didn't even look us in the eye.
2. Tables seated after us got their food long before we did.
3. When our food finally arrived, I thought they were playing a joke on us. My partner ordered nachos. He got a plate of tortilla chip crumbs and salt, like the cook was at the bottom of the bag and just dumped it on a plate. Shredded cheese was sparsely sprinkled on top, and barely melted. That's right, a plate of chip crumbs and a little half-melted cheese. My paella was undercooked rice swimming in red sauce, with a few clams thrown on top.
4. Everyone else's food looked delicious.
5. Already mentioned the broken glass on the floor.
We were the only non-native Spanish speakers in the room. Did that have something to do with it? I don't know, but if you're a tourist, stay far away! read more
