We discovered last fall that we needed a new roof. At the same time, we discovered that because I tried to be our property insurance agent, we had been converted to an ACV (Actual Cash Value) policy rather than replacement cost. Because our roof was 18 years old, the depreciation meant the insurance company owed nothing towards replacing our roof. We had spoken to a different representative of Tarrant Roofing a few years back who had impressed us with his expertise. Frankly, when this current situation arose, and I found out we could not work with the previous rep, I was hesitant lightening would strike twice with a qualified rep. (Hint: I was wrong!) After speaking to clueless roofer after clueless roofer, who could not grasp the intracasies of our situation, I was becoming very discouraged. Enter Kolby Marlow with Tarrant Roofing. Kolby came by the house offering his services because I had called the company looking for the previous rep. I admit to being skeptical that Kolby could be as knowledgeable based on how much younger he was than the prior rep. I would be proven to be so wrong. After shopping yet some more companies, Kolby's dedication and professionalism shone through. If I told him I would follow up with him in a week, he reached out after 10 days to see if he could help me with anything. He never gave up on helping me, even when I was determined to play ostrich and ignore the situation. As the deadline approached the one-year mark, I realized playing ostrich was not helping at all. I called in my top three consults for updated estimates. One company came in within $1k of Kolby's estimate, but in the end, the longevity of Tarrant Roofing made me trust them as the way to go. No one had been as dedicated as Kolby in solving my problem. No company other than Tarrant Roofing had the history to back up their reliability. Kolby helped me pick my shingle color, which I love!! On the day of installation, Kolby was here from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm. He supervised the crew, answered my questions, and made sure their skills balanced with my needs. We were helping our grandson, who is moving back to DFW, close on a house. The inspector had issues with several systems including the roof. The seller's insurance company inspected and noted very little damage. The home's seller, who was dealing in good faith, had the ridge caps replaced. There were, however, inconsistencies in the age and overall condition of the roof. Tarrant Roofing had roofed my previous house with a 50 year rated, Class 4, Malarkey architectural roof. They had done a beautiful job for me. Years later a wind storm blew an old flat roll roof off of our patio. I turned to Judy Hannah at Tarrant Roofing. When Judy saw the damage she called other crews and sales people to come help. This was an older roof that had not been replaced before. Since Tarrant Roofing had done such a great job, on my house before, I hadn't hesitate calling Judy. She got over 10 people to pull the blown off roofing back on to cover the patio and secured it until I could get the insurance company to evaluate the damage. They did this without causing further damage to my precious Malarkey 50 year roof. Unfortunately we sold this house before the roof was fully repaired. The insurance company was adversarial, to understate the problem. Anyway, back to my grandson's future home. We called Judy 2 days before closing. She made a hole in her schedule and inspected the roof. She clarified that the roof was a higher rated roof than had been reported to us. Additionally, she noted that it was in good condition and had 8 or possibly 10 more years of life. We managed to get the sale of the house back on schedule and proceeded to closing. We sent a copy of the excellent report that Judy wrote, complete with the numerous photos to our real estate agent. Additionally, the report Judy wrote included a one year guarantee against leaks. Tarrant Roofing will repair any leaks that might happen for the year following the inspection. Remember, they did not install or repair the roof. Also, remember, it was a FREE inspection! Tarrant Roofing took pictures of my roof with out asking and showed them to us. They contacted my insurance company to review there findings, and my insurance rejected there findings because it was it was less than my deductable. They protested and requested another inspection which the insurance company rejected again. They want to call in a independent inspector, which I have to pay for to get them business. Now the insurance company will not pay for the few items they found, because they have been identified with this claim. All they want is business, and don't care about the customer. read more

The process could not have gone any better! Our salesperson (Kelly Johnson) was also our Project Manager. It was a one-stop-shop with Kelly and she was amazing. Her communication skills were excellent. She took care of the insurance details, starting with meeting with our insurance adjuster at my house to initiate the claim. Tarrant roofing replaced our roof in October 2020. Since then, we have noted a strong mildew odor upstairs following heavy rainfall. We have made several calls to the company that resulted in TWO site visits to evaluate for possible leak/issue. Both times we were told everything was fine. Because the problem persisted, we have had two other roofing companies AND a general contractor come out. ALL have said roof needs to be repaired. Multiple issues/defects have been noted. Most importantly, we have found an area of roof that is not draining properly and instead collects water in a bowl-like defect... this defect corresponds to the strongest mildew odors inside. So after numerous calls to company asking to evaluate, we had TWO evaluations. Both times we were told everything was perfect. AKA we don't make money fixing our "f ups" so we don't admit to them. Meanwhile we have water seeping into the walls from an area of our roof where water pools bc it cannot drain. I am grateful for my persistence in the existence of an issue. Had we listened to Tarrant Roofing's claim that the roof was perfect; we would be facing a MUCH larger and more expensive issue down the road. Shoddy work. Terrible customer service. DISHONEST business practice. I have attached photos of our roof. You can easily identify where the water pools. It is extremely frustrating situation. Highly, unprofessional Tarrant Roofing did work around my apartment complex. Leaving a mess in work areas, not taking responsibility for their contractors or employees messes. Employees even left a mess on my patio after asking them not to take breaks under my patio. As a resident of the complex we were told any roofing nails that damage our tires we would receive reimbursement for. After submitting the required documents Lori from Tarrant roofing stated I would only receive half the reimbursement for my tire due to the work around the complex being completed a week prior on 9.20.2023. However, as stated to Lori and her team their job site trailer was left in the complex along with materials and fencing were not removed from the complex until 10.5.2023. Even after Lori admitted to their job site not being cleaned up until 10.5.2023 as well as myself providing pictures. Lori still refuses to reimburse myself for the damage from tire. I truly hope going forward that any business this organization gets they take full accountability for whether residential or commercial. Tarrant came to our home to try to sell us a roof. Two salespeople came so the junior could learn the ropes. No objections there. However, they were very assertive but we caved and in the middle of a major family crisis, we went with them. They were all sugar and spice and got us a roof up in no time so they could get paid. But the remainder of the work we agreed to, required dozens of calls to schedule, then reschedule when their contractor couldn't come then text and call and text and call with poor responses. Our primary salesperson, this new young man, returned about a quarter of his calls and texts. We had to do the work. We have no reason to exaggerate. Shop around. read more

I contacted Kelly to come out to get an estimate for several things on the property. Her initial visit and communication was great. However, there were two things she missed upon going out there, which was fine (taking a look at the gutters and fence). Another person came out to provide an estimate for the gutters a week later after not hearing from the company even after reaching out the first visit. Their communication is horrible. I have emailed, called, left voicemails, and text messages in regards how to proceed with the repairs for the property and not one person has responded. Tarrant Roofing is an amazing company. Professional, dedicated and honest! We moved to Texas about 18 months ago and were informed by our realtor that we had a new roof and it was a lifetime warranty. Within 6 months the shingles started falling off all of the time and we were not familiar with roofing materials and weather resistance for this state. Unfortunately, the shingles were a manufacturing defect and not the fault of the roofing company. The owner of Tarrant roofing stopped by and told us this roof needed to be replaced and even offered to pay for any overnight expenses if we elected to stay at a hotel through the job. We were thankful, but knew this was an enormous job as we have a very large and high pitched roof. Tarrant roofing not only upgraded the materials, but the owner was personally involved and had a top of the line crew here. Any issues, or collateral damage resulting as expected with a job of this size, were resolved in a timely manner, personally managed, and only the best contractors were brought in to resolve the issues. We have had a lot of experience with home projects and contractors, and Tarrant roofing is by far the best! We trust them and all of their referrals for anything with our home. We had a large insurance claim that we contracted Tarrant Roofing for after an excellent sales pitch from one of their project managers after our ranch was pummeled by a hailstorm this spring. This was the last "excellent" anything we got from Tarrant Roofing, as the next 7 months have been spent dealing with so many issues I could write a book about it. I will save the reader time by saying many false promises were made, and most of the installations (from tin roofs on multiple buildings to painting multiple buildings) were of such poor workmanship that crews had to come back sometimes 3-4 times before issues were resolved. Many of these issues I just had to make peace with not being right... for example after complaining about large gaps between the tin on a 100 x 100 metal building I was told that to fix that they would have to take everything down and redo it and that they wouldn't do that; this building actually looked better after the hail damage than after the repair! What was originally supposed to take a few months took 8... While I understand supply chain issues most of the delays were due to poor scheduling and fore site as well as many cancelled appointments that had to be rescheduled (not to mention having to come back dozens of times to correct errors on installs). Our project manager communicated well at the beginning but that fell off fast when things began dragging on, and was cought lying multiple times over scheduling issues and appointments (in their defense to cover for their subs incompetence). Overall I would say craftsmanship was below average, customer service poor, and I am more than disappointed with the final product. This was no small claim, in the neighborhood of 1/4 million. I try not to live with regrets but its pretty hard with this one... hopefully I can steer someone else clear of making the same mistake I did of choosing Tarrant Roofing. read more

I truly cannot say enough good things about my experience with Tarrant Roofing and specifically Brett. This review will be long, but bare with me because the whole back story really shows the true commitment and expertise of this company. I will try to make a long story short, but I met Brett when I called Tarrant Roofing to give me a second opinion on my roof. I was having a leak that was damaging the garage ceiling and needed to get it fixed ASAP. I started by calling my home warranty company (silly, I know, but I am a first time homeowner) and the company they sent out was good, but not great. I got what I thought was an insanely high quote from them and decided I needed a second opinion. In comes Brett, he was extremely thorough. He was at my my house for 2 hours looking at everything and taking pictures. He advised me that I had enough damage that could potentially warrant a new roof. I was considering filing a claim with my homeowners insurance company and Brett walked me through the whole process, what to expect, the timeline of events, etc. He even talked to the insurance agent on my behalf to make sure they had all the correct information. Fast forward to when the adjuster finally came out. Brett was here for the entire inspection and even said he wanted to come when the insurance agency third party roof people came out to take their pictures. Well, little did Brett or I know what an ordeal replacing my roof would be. I went back and forth with my insurance for a solid 8 weeks (had to file a complaint with TDI, it was a total nightmare) and during the entire time, Brett stayed in contact with me and asked for updates. I never felt like I was dealing with this on my own and he followed up with me consistently to check on the progress. He also gave me advice when I asked for it and made sure I had all my options in front of me so I could make an informed decision. He never pressured me or tried to upsell me at all. Finally came to a resolution with the insurance company and then we hit another snag. I live in a duplex and my HOA said the roof had to match and that it needed to look uniform on the entire building. UGH. But Brett was very patient and came up with every scenario he could think of to get this to work. A few more weeks later, I finally have a new roof and my garage ceiling looks better than it did when I moved in, all thanks to Tarrant Roofing. Tarrant Roofing & Siding installed 33 replacement windows for me 1 year ago; unfortunately all but two of them on the 1st floor of my home were not code complaint (they needed to be tempered glass and they weren't, so the code official 'red-tagged' my home). One year on, half of the non-compliant windows have been replaced and I cannot get a straight answer from anyone at this company about the schedule for replacing the remainder. Every call I make is answered by a different person and you are put through the 'third-degree' regarding what it is you want to discuss. The principals of the company are impossible to reach, as each time I ask to speak to one of them (by name) they are either a) out of the office, b) in a meeting, or, c) in training all day. The turn-over of personnel at this company is virtually unbelievable; supervisors that were with them one day are not there a week latter. All in all, this has been the most frustrating experience I have ever had with a home improvement contractor. They screwed-up the initial order by ordering non-tempered glass and they seem to be disinterested in making good on their error. If you do use them I suggest holding back a substantial amount of the contract value until such time as the local authority having jurisdiction accepts their product: just to be safe, have the contract language address this issue. read more

Tarrant roofing came out like all the rest of the roofing companies after a hail storm. My roof was nearing 15 years old so I don't let anyone on my roof unnecessarily to avoid further damage. Well, they offered a drone option where they fly over the roof to take pictures so I said sure thing! My homeowners insurance went up 57% over 2023 and when I called to complain, they told me that a new roof could save me $2K on my yearly premium. So I called up James Sudbury to come help me work with my insurance company to get a new roof installed. He worked directly with my insurance company and came out for 2 separate roof inspections where they were saying miraculously my house among all of my neighbors had very little to no hail damage. Imagine that.... The insurance company only wanted to pay for a small section of roofing, gutters and a few window screens. After my deductible, I was left with very little to replace the damaged roofing. I was not about to add a few shingles on an already weathered roof so I had James give me a price to replace everything and I was not disappointed.
