I bought my first pistol here last weekend. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and it was such a hassle free process! Especially during the high gun buying volume this year, this place seemed to be very well stocked compared to many other places where i have looked. I will come back for another purchase soon! When in town, I usually shoot at FCO over in Phoenixville but this was a much closer option. Took a friend who was a first timer. I'm not an instructor but have been shooting for 25 years and have orientated many a newbe. Staff was friendly and took over many of the safety items that I was prepared to review. My first issue is they had way too many rules that don't add to safety in my mind. The range safety dude came out to remind me that my basket was not fully in the stall. Coupled with the "first timers 22 only" led me to two lanes and two guns. Ive started men and women alike out on 38s and 9mm with no problem. My second issue was the price. $105 for the total and 150 rounds. I should have spent the money on gas and gone elsewhere. read more

I went to Target World about 4 times when I was 17 and for the last time when I was 18 so this would have been around 2012. When I was 18 I was legally gifted a handgun, and although at 18 you can legally go to a gun range with a handgun you were legally gifted and in possession of those managing the range and the shop were not having it. I did not even attempt to come in alone! I was there with my father. They tried to say that legally I shouldn't even be holding the case in the parking lot. As I tried to argue my understanding of the law I was talked over and down upon. When we left I was so taken back that I had emailed the shop the law, and multiple examples showing my understanding was correct, and I received an apology. If you don't believe me I still have the emails lol. I asked someone if it was the same management he thought it was. If so, go to Claytons. They have attitude and ego problems at Target World. Yup...this was 10 years ago... people don't forget. read more

this is the worst place to buy a gun its been 4 weeks still dont have it, most places i buy online and pick up in store in about 3 hours. the online store is seperate here that they dont tell you when ordering, so target world has the gun in stock but i have to wait for one to be shipped in, so now nobody knows where my gun is, i will never shop here again only reason i did was because it was close. read more

I continue to use Target World for all of my gun-related activities including gun accessory purchases and range. I recently had an issue with my revolver with the cylinder release being stuck after cleaning. I stopped at Target World and explained the issue with an employee (Chris) at the gun range. Chris carefully looked at my revolver and recommended that one of the experienced sales people on the 2nd floor provide additional assistance. George partnered with Chris and quickly determined that the issue was due to bullet fragments under the 'extractor star' wheel. George and Chris took additional time explaining the proper way to clean a revolver and further provided recommendations on the type of ammo to use in the future. Thankful for their support and willingness to educate me on the use and the cleaning of a revolver. In addition to a safe atmosphere to practice, Target World provides customers with great service. read more

I truly enjoy shooting here for many reasons ! First off is they are extremely safety oriented with everyone constantly making sure everyone is being safe while shooting something many other place don't do this and it makes you feel very uncomfortable. This place takes safety seriously and the staff is friendly and helpful but again seriously focused on everyone following the rules ! read more

They make you do a lot of dumb stuff like draw a sight picture but i get it because we have all seen horrible range videos. Its a good clean range and they dont bother you while you are shooting. Bring your own ammo and have it unloaded. If its your first time its pretty insulting but ill be back. For the bad reviews i will say this, my range table had a bullet hole through it so they are doing these annoying tasks for a reason. read more

Beautiful range with a good selection of firearms. Staff was mostly very helpful and kind. But that's about it for the positives. Extremely intense process to even get on the range. I felt like I was treated like I was 10 to be frank. Process included: having to shoot a target with a laser Glock to show I could hold a pistol right. Filling out an pretty serious questionnaire on my firearm knowledge to include how many times I have shot individual weapons, my occupation and employer, my legal ability to own a firearm etc. They then had to search all my ammo to make sure I didn't have any steel. I watched them turn someone away because they didn't have enough firearm's experience and they offered him a class which I believe was $100. After getting on the range, I had an employee come up to me twice and tell me I was hanging my targets too low on the frame. Maybe he was right but I felt like my targets were hanging fine. I additionally had employees staring at me intently through the glass which frankly made me feel uncomfortable. I have extensive experience with firearms and they frankly made me uncomfortable with my own pistol because of how on top of me they were. I understand that safety is paramount but I think they take it a tad too far. I get the vibe that something happened recently that caused them to go to this length to get on the range. I got told someone shot a tracer round on the range a couple weeks ago or something to that affect. However, many people are buying their first firearm and should be welcomed into the community. This place is definitely for more advanced shooters. read more

So, I purchased my new gun off the web, had it transferred to Target World and in turn they transferred it to me. Legal, smooth and very easy. Next I took a lesson with Lisa M. Weisman on my new gun. I'm new to guns/shooting. I've gone target shooting at Target World with my husband a few times and have always found the staff to be friendly, helpful and welcoming. Last week I had a private lesson with Shannon and really enjoyed it. I think he is a great teacher; very informative and encouraging. This is not a good place if you are a new shooter. The employees I have encountered there have the knowledge but horrible customer service. I can only imagine the type of people they have to deal on a daily basis at a gun shop; However that's no excuse to be rude/inconsiderate. Safety procedures are little extreme but I respect them. Range technology was amazing. (Although I wish the side panels were larger to protect you from the hot brass from the next lane.) I will not be coming back nor will I be recommending this place. Apparently there was an incident where some one used a tracer round in doors. Now the staff inspects every round of ammo you bring in. Had 11 loaded 9 and 10 mm mags they wanted to unload and inspect. Three different guns 6 different types of ammo, Nope ! I declined . I load mags so I dont waste time at the range loading them and have more time actually shooting. They should put something on their website and FB page warning people of their new policy. read more

I set up for a private lesson with Shannon. I was nervous as I have zero experience with firearms and safety. He made me feel comfortable and was very informative. He was also very patient with me and answered all my questions without hesitation. I recommend Shannon as he has a wealth of experience and knowledge. Would not let me shoot my 5.56 pistol. I asked for an explanation & their staff tried to tell me that rifle caliber pistols are unsafe. I have shot rifle caliber pistols at Target World every other month this year without incident, so this must be something new. It is worth pointing out there is no mention of being unable to shoot AR/AK pistols anywhere at the range, on their web site, or Facebook page. Thanks for ruining my range trip, enjoy your bad feedback. edit: Target World has changed their policy & are now ok with AK & AR pistols since the ATF clarified their position on pistol braces. I would not hesitate to recommend Target World as they are probably the nicest, cleanest place to shoot in the immediate area. I have changed my rating to reflect this. read more

My husband is an avid shooter, whereas my aunt and I are still learning. We've been to the range several times and have had nothing but great experiences. The staff are extremely friendly, even at peak times when everyone is running around. My husband loves the range lane technology, I am thankful for the safety measures in place! My aunt and I have taken two private lessons with Shannon and found him very patient and knowledgeable. Pat, who set up our appointments each time, was so pleasant to deal with and helpful by preparing us for what to expect. We plan to explore other workshops and classes at this facility, based on our experience thus far. This is the only range we now visit for weekend shooting outings! I have been recommending this facility to others that have similar interests and are searching for a public range, so I would also recommend this place for anyone who is reading this! read more

I'm deducting a star for my most recent experience. I recently took two friends to Target World. On our way out of the range area, one of the employees pulled us back in to claim that we had hit the carrier twice. Now, three of us were shooting on one lane (so I didn't personally check the placement of every round) we were all tall and had the targets hung a bit high, one of us closed out aiming for the "head" region of his target, and I had one round that was a little off after the weapon failed to fire on the previous shot attempt... It's, I suppose, possible that someone among us hit the metal clip. However, the "evidence" we were shown were two little marks, one of which I had seen before we started shooting (and I hadn't exactly been inspecting). Those cost $30, none of which am I sure we actually owed, and half of which I'm pretty sure we didn't. In and of itself, that's irritating, but it happens, and I didn't bother questioning it at the time, so I can let that go. What followed, though, was bizarre. We were told that there's a store upstairs and that shooting a bit high could result in a round going through the floor and killing someone. Now, this is untrue on pretty much every front. A round that nicks the bottom of the metal clip that holds up the target isn't going to hit the ceiling. No part of the upstairs store is actually located in line with a shot that would plausibly be taken at the range, and obviously ranges are constructed so that bullets don't fly through their walls. I know this and I'm not a first time shooter, so I could just roll my eyes, but there are people who could be put into a complete panic by such absurd claims. Then, we were pulled to a different lane to see the mark left by a round that someone had fired sideways (almost perpendicular to the range). I fully agree that shooting at a 90 degree angle from the range is horribly reckless... But I don't really see the parallels between that and someone accidentally firing three inches above the target (if any of us even actually did so). We were then treated to a lecture about how if that sideways shooter had been firing a different weapon with different ammo and there had been a guy at the lane beside him who had been leaning over the counter in a way that he shouldn't have been, a round could have punctured the bullet-resistant divider and hit him in the head. First, this very clearly had nothing to do with anything we were even alleged to have done. Second, an employee who's in a panic about what hypothetically might have happened if someone's irresponsible actions had been committed using an illicit weapon and illicit ammo while someone else was simultaneously behaving strangely might not be someone who's psychologically equipped to work at a shooting range. And, finally, exposing the wrong customer to that could seriously, unnecessarily upset them. There's a significant difference between being safety conscious (which, if you see my original review, you'll see I appreciate) and being unreasonably panicky, which just leads to more of the irrational behavior that can make a range dangerous. I have appreciated Target World for its level-headed staff who know how to make customers, and especially their safety, a priority. This time, I got the opposite of level headed. The rest of the staff seemed to have it together, so I think that this was more an aberration than a new norm, but I don't think that "disturbing" is an unreasonable word to use to describe this most recent experience. read more

Attended the Intro to Handguns class, and it was great. Shannon and Dan were both extremely knowledgeable, and the demonstrations were clear. It was an interesting session, listening to Shannon describe how to safely handle a gun and stories of what can happen if you don't. We got to practice a lot more than I expected, and Dan was excellent ... and patient! Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend. read more

If no stars was an option I would choose it!! I was interested in buying my first gun and came here with my family to try a few on the range. After filling out the necessary paperwork we were told the owner had just called and informed the staff the range was only open to members today. After letting the clerk know we were interested in buying a gun and would even consider becoming members we were still refused. During this entire time there were only two people in the range. This store must charge way too much if they can afford to turn down four people to their all but empty range, a potential sale, and all future business from my family. read more

Had a fantastic personal instruction experience with John Pope at Target World. I am a left-handed shooter, and consistency hit my targets low and to the right. Mr. Pope was professional and encouraging, and he quickly assessed my grip and trigger pull to diagnose what was affecting my accuracy. Within minutes I was seeing noticeable improvements. It goes without saying in this area that if you've been to Target World, you've had one or multiple horrible experiences. The staff is always certain to exude their arrogance, and do their best to talk down to you and make you feel stupid. Also, they will be certain to let a five year old shoot. Or a ten year old shoot. Without government issued identification. However, if you show up with an ID card and not a license, and are a legal age adult, they will not let you shoot. They will let you go upstairs and buy a gun and THEN shoot. But they will not let you bring in a firearm not purchased from there and shoot it without a drivers license. Or unless you're under age, then they apparently don't care. In my years of shooting anytime I have mentioned to anyone that I've gone shooting at Target World the first words out of their mouths are, "They're a bunch of dicks." That statement is proven time and again to be transforming from accusation into fact. read more

I read the reviews. I have no idea. We needed to go to a range on our way up lehigh valley. I was scared by the reviews. I shouldn't have. We were a party of 8. It was busy at the range and five of us had never been there before. They got us all on the range in less than 15 minutes. They gave us three lanes to start, then gave us five in the end so we could spread out. The negatives...not to be nitpicky...but....8 guys, ten firearms or varying calibers, and over 2000 rounds of ammo, plus accessories, plus paper targets, plus bags...is a lot of stuff. They made us keep everything in the lanes with us, which pushed us to the very edges of each lane. We put the box loaded with ammo and targets behind us (at least five feet to the wall) and got hollered at. It made shooting a little uncomfortable. The positives...the lanes are well lit and organized well. price was good too, at $117 for all eight to shoot for an hour. Asides: they have an abundance of ammo. There is no shortage here. Only good things to say about this place as the staff are thorough, respectful, and competent....the range is very nice with individual lanes and a very modern target distancing system. They cater to all levels of experience as I have over 30 years of experience with multiple weapons but they were very helpful and respectful to my wife who has only fired a few times before. They are pro military/LEO/first responder but I'd recommend them for anyone wanting to squeeze off a few rounds....... read more

I've been coming here for months now and I am surprised I did not give them a review yet. I want to start off by saying I originally found this place because I needed to sell one of my firearms that another place would not take. Not only did they buy my firearm but they also gave me a check for it. Target world has great employees that are really friendly and extremely helpful. They have a great range with 15 lanes, and an advanced electronic system where you are able to set how far you want your targets to go. Overall ever since I've been coming here for months I have not had any bad experiences with them. If I could I would give them more than five stars, I would highly recommend them for any firearm purchases or for any range visits. read more

Since my initial review, and talk with the owner about a few minor issues, I've had nothing but a 5-star experience. I've even brought multiple shooters to the range, on multiple occasions, and the staff has been great to them. One was very experienced, and the other two were novices, and everyone had a great time. I'm pretty sure one of the people I brought intends to become a member. If you're looking for a well-kept range where you don't have to worry about some yahoo blasting the walls or muzzle sweeping the other patrons, then this is the range to join. When I come in, I get greeted by name and I do appreciate that. They've also run some pretty legit ammo sales (not always), so that's been a plus if I've ever been running low on a box of 9mm. read more

Some of these negative reviews are outrageous and I would likely bet all of them were from unsafe shooters on the range. I've purchased a few fire arms here and the sales/service was excellent although a bit slow due to no fault of their own (the place was packed). The range is nice. I appreciate the safety precautions and wouldn't shoot at a range that didn't prioritize safety first like Target World. If you get a talking to it is likely due to something you did that was putting others at risk. Thank you for the excellent service and prioritizing safety. read more

Every aspect of Target World I have experienced has been pleasant. I am a new shooter. I've wanted to learn for a while now. My husband and I have stopped at other ranges and gun stores in the area. Never decided to buy or shoot on a range. That is until coming to Target World. I was treated with respect and not spoken down to for being uneducated about guns. A member of the staff spent 30 minutes talking to us about the range. It was awesome. He made me feel comfortable and less intimidated. We have since been back several times and bought 2 guns. The entire staff has been kind, respectful, knowledgeable, and helpful. They love to educate and spread their knowledge. The gun range is new and very nice. Several lanes. It gets busy at times but you never feel crowded. And as busy as it is sometimes the staff still takes care of each and every customer as if they are the only one. My husband and I took a class with Lisa, she helped me feel more confident and comfortable. She is a thorough teacher. Very positive. One last comment, every customer we have encountered on the range has been nice, friendly, talkative, and willing to give advice, targets, or just a smile. Very good 1st experience for me! read more

Target World is incredibly well run and pretty much the best shooting range in the area. If you're a new or experienced shooter, consider taking classes (women's only classes offered on a regular basis) or private lessons. The instructors are outstanding. I've taken the same class multiple times and learned something new every single time. Private lessons are just that, the instructor focuses on whatever it is that you want to improve. I've started off a private lesson with my concerns, and the instructor(s) recognized additional ways that I could improve my shooting. I highly recommend making Target World your personal pistol club. Btw, their range is designed so that you can also shoot rifles. I occasionally practice shooting my home defense AR15 at short range, to simulate a home invasion. read more

All the sales guys are nice, except 'TY'. He pressured me into buying something i didnt want, lied about the product, and hid information on it as well. He knew i very inexperienced and i asked him for guidance, and he took advantage of that vulnerability and sold me something that he made sound like 'the best deal ever', but neglected to tell me everything! I tried to take it back for reconsignment LESS than 24hrs later, and the other salesmen told me it was pretty much worth nothing, because it's a product not made anymore and impossible to even sell. This guy should NOT be in sales because he is dishonest and takes advantage of people. You would think a gun store would want to help someone make the right choice, not just look for a quick buck.
