The Recoil Shooting range IS, hands down, the premier indoor range for Central New Jersey, if not all of New Jersey. Some quick pointers as most, if not all of the information is already available on the website: 1. The range does not offer any rentals or sell any ammunition. 2. Bring your range bags and make sure you have eye and ear pro; if not, no worries, there are some of those for sale. 3. There are a good variety of target silhouettes and variations for sale. 4. For newcomers, there is a bit of an in-processing bit in terms of signing waivers and watching a range-safety video (this should not come as a surprise). 5. DO NOT HESISTATE TO ASK QUESTIONS OR BRING UP ISSUES. I can assure you that the staff is more than willing to help and assist you. There are no stupid questions - if you don't know something, there is no embarrassment to seeking help. Again, the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The indoor range at Recoil Shooting in Monroe, New Jersey is a state-of-the-art facility that accommodates over a dozen lanes, divided in half based on the distance of those lanes. It is an extremely clean and well-organized facility that is operated by professionals of the craft. From the range safety officers (RSO) to the managers/owners, Recoil Shooting offers top-notch service to the community through awareness, education, and training. With that being said, Recoil Shooting offers a very inclusive and safe atmosphere. My wife and I took advantage of one of our free days to go to Recoil Shooting range. Upon arriving, we were greeted by two very professional individuals that treated us with respect from beginning to end. We signed a waiver through a digital platform and paid to pay for the occupation of a lane with relative ease. We the proceeded to watch a required range-safety video which was an indication of the business' seriousness toward safety, but also, attention to detail. The lanes themselves were clean and well maintained. Each lane had a tablet-like platform that operated a rail system which managed target delivery. The system was very self-explanatory to use; however, a RSO was present to assist with any needs or questions that a patron may have. Jeff was our RSO that day. Sometimes the presence of a RSO may seem overbearing and micromanage-y, however, this was not the case at Recoil Shooting. Jeff knew exactly what to look for, easily identified potential issues, while addressing them with the utmost professionalism. During our time on the lane, we were shooting my wife's brand-new, out of the box handgun and experienced what I perceived to be a misfire. I was able to get Jeff's attention who began to address the issue at hand. Jeff expertly assessed the situation and began to perform remedial action on the weapon system. His partner, who was extremely professional and knowledgeable as well came to assist, and ultimately made the call up to the manager who is a Glock-certified armorer. Within minutes, Dan arrived on site and quickly corrected the action - it turned out to be a combination of non-lubrication (silly us) with the deformity of a remanufactured round that caused the gun to jam. After this, we were well on our way back to putting rounds down range. All in all, these experts enabled us to have a great, enjoyable time. One of the best indoor ranges I have been to in NJ. Firstly, the staff is very professional. Everyone I have ever encountered there from the front desk to the range officers have been helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. One of the range officers even helped me dial in my green dot sight. Secondly, the range is clean and state of the art. No guess work as to what distance your target is at. And you are not stepping on shell casings from the people before you. Lastly, pricing is good and they do not overcharge like other ranges I have shot at before. I like this place and the staff so much that I am considering becoming a member. They make you shoot 150 rounds of bullets with 80% accuracy. went home and googled other ranges and found "Ironsights" who gave me an appointment next day. I went and passed my test. Hands down the cleanest shooting range in the area! I've been to tons of ranges and Recoil has some of the best rail systems and ventilation I've seen. The Range Safety Officers do not pester you like many other ranges and often provide tips and guidance for those who want to shoot better or are new to shooting in general. Recoil does not offer gun rentals or ammunition sales, however this means that most shooters tend to be more experienced which made us feel safer knowing most people here are used to shooting guns. read more

Ah yes....The smell of cordite. Recoil has been around awhile now and the has grown into itself..... no more dusty sharp edges and squeaky new leather smell on the comfortable couches. Service is as efficient and friendly as ever and the RO is not breathing down your neck so it's time for you to be one with the equipment and put some down range. The range is spotless and well maintained,lighting and exhaust is 100% and a cross section of NJ seen to enjoy their afternoon out. This place is fantastic. State of the art bays. Great space clean and new. RSO's are present, helpful if needed, and out of the way. I almost don't want to post this because I like being able to shoot as long as I want . This is the go to place so it's definitely worth a trip. I became a member and it is definitely worth it. They don't sell ammo, they do sell target and gear. No gun rentals either but that works for me because most people bringing their own means they KNOW their weapons. Makes it safer to me and cuts down on the "hey let's just go shoot because we have a drivers license" folks. read more

I'd read about this place a few weeks ago and had been planning to check it out. Today was the day. I have to say I was much more than impressed. The facilities were clean, the staff was incredibly nice and personable, and so were the other patrons. The entire target placement/retrieval is automated with iPads which I thought was pretty slick. There was even a little handwashing station once you left the range area to clean up a bit before leaving. I'm a fan. Be advised though, they don't rent hardware or sell ammo. read more

Facility is clean not crowded of course this was a Tuesday afternoon around 3. You walk in you're greeted with staffs and upon telling them I was a first timer here they will guide u to sign the waiver on the iPad and then proceeds to watching a 6 minutes safety video. After that just grab ur gears and they will assign you with a lane #. Once you're in the instructor will show u the function of the range and they are happy to show u the technical side of things if u ask. Overall great experience wish they sold ammo but it's crazy times and this is definitely an expensive hobby so hopefully when things and ammo prices are back to normal I can thoroughly enjoy it more. read more

GOOD STUFF- I had picked this out of luck between my brother in law and my houses. He is a 1st timer so I opted to pay for class for him in interest of family harmony. Well I visited Recoil today. First time there. You register and sign in. Then you are required to watch a safety brief. (This is a good thing) The lobby are was clean and looked new. The young man behind the counter was very pleasant. He explained everything and made sure I was fully informed about the range safety. Upon entering the range there is an ante room to wash your hands prior to entering or leaving the range. Keeps any contamination to a minimum. The range was staffed by a Range Safety Officer. Josh the RSO explained the targeting system. I noticed that there was good airflow moving smoke and contaminates down range. This is a state of the art air handling system. I've been to many ranges across the country. Some were great. Some not so much. Felt very comfortable and safe here. The RSO was doing his job and everything was clean. Something that most are not aware of (Down range was very clean). If the floor down range is dirty you run the risk of having a range fire due to unburned powder. I personally witnessed this at another range. I like this place. I observed no range safety violations. No one was shooting fully auto weapons as a previous rater suggested. Kudos to the owners for running a Safe and Clean range. I will be coming back here. read more

This is a state of the art range! From the minute you walk in, you are greeted warmly and everyone makes you feel comfortable. The range itself is ultra clean and digital.
