Came on a Saturday evening around 8pm. Was not busy at all. I'm not sure if it's a CT thing, but this is the best stocked Target I have ever seen in my life. There was not an empty shelf, and when I looked for an item in particular, there was plenty in stock and a bunch of options to choose from. 2 level target. Men's is located downstairs. Employees were friendly and efficient. Had a bunch of self check outs available. In and out in about 30 minutes. This is connected to a mall, so you do have plenty of parking options. They do have a Starbucks located inside as well. read more

Came here with my sister to pick up her online order. I feel like it came out to the car faster than when I pick up drive-up orders at the Hawley Lane location. I come inside here time to time when I'm already at the mall. I prefer Hawley Ln store because it's easier for me to navigate, with only one floor. This one has two levels and gets a bit overwhelming for me at times having to go up and down the elevator/escalator searching for items. read more

I prefer the Hawley lane location b/c it's less chaotic. However, this location seems to have their stock in check. Hawley Lane has cancelled numerous pick up orders/online orders b/c their inventory is off. It was busy like always when I came in. I was just browsing for now. I also had a pick up order which was brought to my car quickly. I will be back! You have to catch sales b/c Target can be pricey. read more

Went to the mall with the grandson and we had to stop to take a look at the toys. All of the great toy stores are no longer around. Target is about one of the only stores which still has a somewhat decent toy store. We stopped in and it was great to see the wonder and amazement of an 8 year old boy. Unfortunetly human beings at the cash register, at many places, seem to be a thing of the past. I see more and more places becoming automated and that alone is enough to take a star or two off. Note to stores: most of us do not like self checkout and we are less likely to visit if we do not see live human beings working there. These automated registers are unattractive and put good people out of work. Really hate that some places are going in that direction. Targets in general do not appeal to me much but sometimes I do stop in here..occasionally. Very occasionally. Unstructured and impossible to find anything. Plus it's at Westfield which is enough to knock off another star. Not a place I'd care very much if I never went back to. read more

The check out has become a big headache. I've been going here since target joined this mall. 2 levels. Each has about 16 check out lanes - granted most not used except the holidays but there was almost always staffing so that lines were 2-4 people. So now they ripped out 5 lanes and put in 4 self check out terminals. I've no issues with this - I usually can do my checkout more efficiently then who they hire anyway. But now most times they have no staffed check out or only one line. Tonight the self checkout (which now has people corrals like for cattle ) has over ten customers waiting. They did have one staff working a register which also had an equally long line (moo) - and was closing! I said something to her about needing more staff and the response was not at this hour - and I'm closing. Mind you it was 7:30 pm. So take out another 10 lanes and give another 8 self checkouts. I mean if your not going to do your job target then at least let us do it for you. I know you won't pay us- and I know you won't give us a better price. But gosh don't make us beg to shop here - just because it's walking distance to the local college. It's a private college and most people have a car and can drive to Walmart. Shape up or ship out. This place needs to have scan and go. If your only going to have self checkout open and not have any regular registers open. Let the customers pay through the app and scan a qr code to checkout when they leave. Your business will lose customers if they have to wait in long lines just because you staff the other registers. read more

Answer your phones. I have tried to reach your store for 2 days, calling repeatedly and even trying to reach different departments. No one answers...ever. This is horrible customer service. I have read multiple reviews about the customer service and employee attitudes. I did not have any issue with the employees when I visited the store, but the astounding fact that NO ONE answers phones is unacceptable. I was just there and every person I asked for help was incredibly unhelpful. I wanted to buy a chair on display. The web site clearly showed the chair was available for pickup at the store (Including exact aisle it was in), but the employees insisted I couldn't take the display item. So I had to order it online for in-store pickup, go home, wait two hours to get the confirmation it was ready to pick up, then drive back to the store. They need more cashiers. I don't want to do self checkout but they often understaff cash registers and force you to check out yourself.

They're clean and usually have what I need but the two-floors set up is very very annoying. I always end up having to go to both floors and I try not to use a carriage because I don't want to have to do the whole carriage escalator process. I still end up having to balance myself with my products either up or down an escalator myself. They do have an elevator but who has time for that. Crowded into that small thing with a bunch of strangers. No thanks. So other than the 2-story design flaw the store is fine. The employees are friendly and helpful when asked questions. I usually use the self-checkout so I don't really encounter their cashiers. read more

For years now, no matter the time, there is 1-2 cashiers with a long line forming, including the self check. Its a busy target, not sure why they cant staff their store accordingly. This store has serious problems staffing cashiers. Recently my wife and I were shopping together and there were two cashiers with incredibly long lines, so we went to customer service and they rang us up. We had a full shopping cart - not a handful of items. At this visit, given the shortage of cashiers, even the line at the self checkout was 20 people deep. And sorry, a full cart can not be checked out at their miniature self checkout machines anyway - smaller than Home Depot. The Trumbull West (shopping mall) store is two floors with many cash registers on each floor. A few days ago my wife filled a cart and found no cashiers on either floor. This is not an exaggeration. There were none. (I was impressed with her dedication to check both floors - would you?) So she went to customer service and the worker there said they were no longer allowed to ring up more than 10 items. My wife just left her cart behind. What was more trouble for them, having a cashier or having to put all the items back on the shelves? The store is conveniently located for us, so it's a shame we can't shop there any longer. I called Target corporate customer service 800-440-0680 and told them what's going on. But I have no faith that local management will do anything. read more

I do like this Target because the location is very convenient for me. I think the selection is pretty good. The only issue I have is that some of the employees who work the floor engage in conversations among themselves and swear. I have a problem with this especially when I'm going through the clothing racks in the children's dept. with my daughter. Two floors of shopping goodness, anytime I'm in the area, there is always a reason to stop here. Today we were looking for baby bike helmets for our weekend away. My sister in law and I asked a group of young employees who swore they didn't carry them (we felt they just didn't feel like taking the time to show us) but we ended up finding some. Not a big deal that we weren't shown that they "didn't" have helmets, but just making note that most of the employees here are young and just there to make a quick buck in retail. Make sure you go in not needing much help. All in all, this store is huge, clean and bright. I heart Target either way! read more

Hard to believe how understaffed this place is. Went to buy a $500 tv and a handful of fire sticks. The rep who 'helped me' was absolutely awful. He spent most of the time talking with friends bumming around the electronics section. His body language demonstrated he clearly didn't want to be bothered as he rolled his eyes when I requested we pre order some Amazon Firesticks. After he sold me the tv he disappeared with my receipt and went on break. Customer service refused to leave their line as I waited for over thirty minutes to get my receipt back. The only reason I am even giving 2 stars is because the bathroom was half-cleaned unlike it usually is. I like target in general for it's convenience factor but it ends there. The staff (especially the cashiers) at the trumbull mall location are absolutely terrible. The cashier I just had did not say hello, thank you, please, or even crack a hint of a smile. She was terribly rude and rolled her eyes when I pulled out my own reusable bag. I try to avoid this target in general & it is for the sole reason of a crappy customer service experience. Instead of calling us shoppers "guests" it would be great to be treated like an actual human being. I hope one day this target goes 100% self check out- everyone waits in line to check themselves out because other than that one nice older woman with the thin hair- the cashiers are all horrible. read more

The employees here are awful and unhelpful for the most part .. I had to ask 3 different people for help on a night when there was about 6 customers in the entire store and all of them told me they would grab someone for me but they were all "on break".. I was at Target with my mom to get some long-needed things. We needed to return a charger cable that did not fit my iPhone. When we first walked in, the customer service area had a line of two people (a man in front of us, then my mom and me). The person working at the counter was taking forever with the person at the counter, so my mom and I decided to go shopping and THEN go back to customer service to return the cable. The supply was a little low, they didn't have magnetic mirrors. Which is ok, target isn't really the best for makeup. I did buy a lip gloss tube though, hope it works out ok! Anyway, the customer service ended up fine. The items we bought were a little overpriced if I'm being completely honest. But overall, our experience was decent and I will go back again if I need to. read more

I went to the mall excited to buy myself a new Xbox One Wireless Controller. I purchased one from Target for a great deal. I was happy. However, when I returned home and started to use this said controller, I was dissatisfied because this Wireless controller that purchased from Target, one of the main buttons, the "View Button" was not responsive to the Xbox One S that I have. I checked the mapping and it was no problem with that. It was then that I released that I just purchased a defective Xbox One controller from Target. I am disappointed. read more

People with carts full of stuff, who should not be using self check out have to because there are no open registers. It's a really nice target you should know what to expect, it's clean, the staff is friendly, they help you purchase items without pressuring you to buy anything and tend to know basic information about electronics which is all you should expect from someone working at this franchise. Eh. The Target on Hawley Lane in Trumbull/Stratford is way better. The selection is very limited especially in their bedding department. They also seem extremely disorganized. The upstairs level only had 2 cashiers and a HUGE line while the downstairs had 6 lanes open and no customers. How does that make any sense? I only came here out of laziness since I was running an errand down the street, I'll stick to the other Target in the future read more

Last week while I was shopping with my friend, at the self checkout, the target clerk was extremely rude. My friend has cerebral palsy and walks with a cane. However, in order for her to keep her balance to prevent her muscles from cramping, her doctors tell her to use the shopping cart to exercise the legs. The clerk at the lower self check out did not even greet her or myself. Clearly seeing there was a cane in the shopping cart; I found it appalling the clerk snatched the cart away from my friend who was being pulled holding the cart, until I said that my friend has a disability and needs the cart for balance. Instead of apologizing for her mistake that could have been a major lawsuit if my friend fell she said with an attitude " I am letting my other guests pass". Ok, a word of advice to the management at this store, asking your patrons to move their shopping cart is always an option, as there was no one in the line behind us until I was at the end of my transaction. read more
