Okay so yes is this place in a little disarray due to the changing season and then clearance being malled thru yes. Buttttt here's what changed my mind.... The customer service. One gentlemen started helping me and walked style over. Super helpful. Than when the style woman came over to find the one pair of slides I wanted among the chaos. I mean cmon incredible.

    Looks can be deceiving

In the middle of quarantine we risked our lives to get to Target to satisfy our chocolate chip cookie craving. We usually opt for the Toll House Pre-made Pre-cut dough, but were disheartened go discover that they were completely out of stock. We said to ourselves, "thats okay, we'll try the Pillsbury Pre-made Pre-cut dough." After all, Pillsbury is usually known as a baked goods market leader. We rushed home, our taste buds now watering, and quickly preheated the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Immediately after removing them from the deceptively illustrative package, we knew something was seriously wrong. The coloring and texture of the dough was completely off. We read the packaging and discovered that the recipe had been changed to allow for the consumption of the raw dough. After 10-14 long, agonizing minutes the cookies were finally ready. We carefully removed them from the oven and set them onto the cooling rack. As I poured the dunking milk, my culinary partner transferred the cookies to a plate. By this point, our stomachs were grumbling and we were ready for some chocolate chip delight. The moment we bit into them, our eyes locked and a feeling of despair engulfed us. We knew our instincts were right. These were NOT cookies. These were NOT "lovin like somethin from the oven". I have never tasted such rancid, chemically plagued, artificial cookies. I hope no one ever has to experience this embarrassing excuse of a dessert. TARGET, take heed of this review. Strip your stores of this filth immediately or you will lose the business of myself and many for the years to come.

    Social distancing at its finest

How Target is combatting our pandemic- everyone at 6ft? Is the store even at a reduced capacity. I spoke with the district leadership who said they would take care of it and a week later it was worse. I called corporate and they said no one would be able to call me back. My wife ordered a pick up item and asked the worker how the lines were because she wanted to purchase a few more items and the worker stated "bad, I wouldn't go in if I were you"

But it's shop able and makes you want to keep exploring the nooks and crannies. There was a friendly and attentive staff on hand, but they didn't crowd or try to hard sell you. They seemed to like where they worked and the vibe transferred to the few browsers who were inside. As the other reviewer astutely noted, they seem to enjoy placing gag food items on tables, bars, hutches, hell, on any flat surface really. These items are seemingly handmade and priced fairly high for what they were. Maybe they throw one in for free if you purchase something that you could place it on?

I was drawn in by the window displays, but wound up wandering the entire length and width of the store. They offer interior design services and made to order (or assembled to order) furniture, as well as many decorative items. There were candles and candle holders, some Christmas decor, lamps, painted figurines, glass jars, some ceramics, clocks, novelty napkins, furniture, pillows and signs with the names of NJ shore towns on them, and nautical-themed decorations. (This is, after all, the Jersey shore!) I saw shiny aluminum dishes (or maybe they were ashtrays) shaped like life-sized flip-flop sandals, and carved wooden "bathing beauties" painted with vintage bathing suits. There were cast iron hooks shaped like lighthouses and shells. There was a lot of "faux food"--I guess you're supposed to put a fake cake or pie on your un-used dining room table, though I'd always rather consider a REAL cake or pie. There was quite a range of fabric samples to be chosen for upholstery on the furniture offerings. Interesting stuff, both for those shopping to furnish a home, as well as for smaller shore-themed gifts and decorations.

He gave us a attitude about the mattress because after being asked three times by him "are you SURE you don't want a new one" "can't you just take a look at mine" him then turning to my husband on his last effort "what about you do you think she'd need a new mattress?" I got annoyed and said "we do not need a mattress we need either a frame of trundle/day bed, that's it." He rolled his eyes and let out a sigh while going "fine". I told him I wanted it only in white and after him asking if what he showed me (a studded medium to light grey trundle that just wasn't what we wanted) looked good. I told him "It's not a light enough color for the room, like I said, we need white to match the rest in the room." He gave me a dirty look and raised his voice at me stating "Seriously?! How is THIS not light enough? So your walls are white? Your ceiling? Your floors? Your furniture? Your doors? ALL white?" By this point we got angry and felt disrespected. He brings us to these beds that are again not what we want and he gave more disgruntled noises rolling his eyes (keep in mind he appeared to be in his late 50's-60's) then when he saw me look at the kids section (where they had twins sized frames) he stated with a chuckle "No you don't want those, they're for childish people" and brought us to a pull out couch. He "demonstrates" stating "and you don't even have to be strong to lift this up!" And pulls it out stating "sit" pointing to it. We declined. He says again "sit" we say again "no you were okay" he says a third time "well this is how you decide if you want it and this is where people sit down so...sit". By this point I'm fed up and so is my husband. He tells Mike "you know what we're going to shop around and leave". Mike insists we get pricing on it (and as a former sales person at a car dealership I knew this is how they get your info) we said again "no thanks" he insisted and got visibly angered and gritted his teeth saying "well ya know that's my business card and how you know who I am so you need to do it". Finally I have enough and tell him "we don't need it have a good day" and we left. Worst part is, I actually saw a frame I liked, but hey, guess since it's for "childish" people only (which is precisely what he is) he won't mind not getting paid on it.

Absolutely appalling experience with Ashley Furniture - avoid at all costs…read more I purchased a couch from Ashley Furniture in Toms River, NJ on November 15, 2024, along with their 5-year ProtectAll extended protection plan. Less than a year later, in fact -ONLY 6 MONTHS LATER the couch developed serious issues with the reclining mechanism and pinching--clear signs of a manufacturing defect and safety concern. I reached out on June 1, 2025, to begin a warranty claim and was immediately bounced back and forth between Ashley Furniture and ProtectAll. I followed up again on June 2 and June 3, during business hours, and still couldn't get a straight answer from either party aside from "we made note and someone will call you back." But no word over WHO was responsible. On June 11, Ashley informed me it would take over six weeks just to get the part needed for repair and another month after that to schedule a technician. A 10+ week delay is absolutely unacceptable for a couch under warranty. On June 12, I contacted the Toms River location directly, and while I was told a regional manager would contact me over the weekend, what I got instead was a call on June 13 from a rude customer service supervisor telling me Ashley Furniture no longer wants to work with me regarding this issue--despite the warranty still being active and the defect clearly falling under its terms. This company has shown zero accountability, offers horrendous customer service, and refuses to honor their warranty. I've since filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am pursuing further action. I paid good money for what I was told would be a "worry-free" piece of furniture, and instead I'm left with a non-functional and unsafe couch and no support. Buyer beware.

I finally have to go into the store to get some assistance on getting a replacement to the replacement and the store was very, very helpful. So I send the email. I finally get a response from service and I send the chain of emails back to service and I tell them a drawer that wasn't damaged is now damaged. The trim is just falling off of the drawer. At this point I want a credit to get something nicer. Someone calls and speaks to my husband and tries to say you're over stuffing the drawers you shouldn't have even received replacement drawers. A technician is supposed to come out. Now I'm going to fight with them over the crap that was made because you suddenly don't want to send drawers after you sent me the wrong ones, you want a technician to come out and do what? Ridiculous. I feel bad for the sales people because they are very nice, but some of their products are made horribly and their customer service is the absolute worst. This company should be ashamed of themselves.
